Tomb Raider Fair Fall is done

C'mon Hablo - admit it. Its totally B*TCHIN! Yes - it is a Suspended Topspin. Totally different experience. -
What are you hitting this summer?
TheKlockster replied to Dane's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
For Sure - PKI CP HW Stricker's Grove Coney Island Maybe - SFKK??? Caro??? -
You forgot - between Steel Dragon and Top Thrill Dragster came Superman: Ultimate Escape or whatever it is called. It is 415 feet tall. Its that ride at SFMM where you LSM launch out and up in the air - stop - and fall backwards again. I would like to see some non-launched strata coasters - something using a lift like Millie. It appears that Intamin is the only company willing to break the 300 foot barrier - so whatever gets built will probably be an Intamin.

Yeah - and didnt part of it collapse too?

Want to see the flyers at their new home?

Well - what else can be said? They flat out destroyed a classic. They might as well have burned it down. -

Yeah - the paint job sucks. But my main question is - will they ALLOW snapping? -
For me - theming isn't that important. With some rides, like Italian Job and Tomb Raider - the theming makes the ride. But FACE/OFF could just as easily be called the Cincinnati Boomerang - and it would still be cool. Top Gun could be Thunder Road. What does it matter if Vortex is a big robot or a teletubby (well that might be pushing it). So I would like to see Busch Gardens or Cedar Fair take it over.
-
Gotta say Busch Gardens. I love Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and I think it would be cool if they got PKI.
-
Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries! Now go away before I taunt you once more. Sorry I had to say it! I'm not that worried about it anymore. I was thinking about it - and the theming really is only about 10% of it in my book. I go for the thrills.
-
Cedar Fair! OMG! I think The-Snapper was right! LOL
-
Well what could happen? I mean no matter who buys it - it will still be here, and still be fun to go to. If Universal bought it - it would be awesome. But Cedar Fair would be cool too. I think if they bought PKI - they would either shut down PKI or close Geauga Lake.
-
Thats is hilarious. I guess they are at a crossroads - and on the one corner there is a Paramount Park and on the other a Cedar Fair Park. What they don't realize is that ours is better! Actually I haven't been to CP yet so I can't say that. I just find it stupid that people would do something like that. I guess its like a big sign - HERE I AM - STAPLE ME!

Need a good 3d program for KI coaster creation
TheKlockster replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Kings Island
Somebody wanted to see my models - so here they are. They are both unfinished. Duhlee needs another 4-6 hours for the modeling and multireplication of the seats. The flyer tub needs another 6 hours or so until it is a complete Flying Eagles. I work on it when I have spare time. Edit: I think I need to make the rudder bigger on the flyer. Plus, when you figure in detail work fur Dulee (bolts and stuff), its probably closer to 10+ hours to finish. -

Or Bryce 5. The IJST video was made with Alias|Wavefront's Maya program. Bryce is the same thing but costs less. It is a generic 3d modeling program, and I have been able to make some cool things on it - including most of Delirium, and a tub from the Flying Eagles - all in 3d. -
Ah - I think I saw something like that toward the end of Fearfest. They called it Parking Lot Trams: The Experience, The Sequel: The Prequel's Prequel.
-
It wouldn't hurt to try anyways. But dont do it April 19. At least wait till daily operation begins in late May or June.

Vortex is about as close as it can get. The positioning of the Corkscrew and Loops is a little off, but its more accurate than I have been able to do in Roller Coaster Tycoon 1. Top Gun is way off. Check out the photo gallery here for ideas about how it looks in real life.

Star Wars is cool. I just cannot handle Spongebob. I would probably ride the coaster for the credit - but not alot. I mean any coaster is good - we are just talking about themes. Then you have the Addams Family coaster. You could make it any coaster. But they want to make it a B&M Dive Machine. The Core was a movie that was action packed and would make a great Extreme Thrill Ride. Addam's Family would be more of a family attraction - and a waste of a perfectly good Diver. But as I said - any coaster is good. Worst comes to worst - you can just ignore the theming.
-
Well I think the Spongebob type coaster is a good idea - but Spongebob freaking Squarepants is freaking stupid. I can't stand the thing. And I also think that Adams family is a really stupid theme for a dive machine. Trek would be a great idea. So as long as we stay away from Spongebob and Adams family, we will be fine.

The one in Japan is indeed a Giant Frisbee. I don't know when it opened. But it is the exact same thing as Delirium. Same size and everything. Same paint scheme too. It is at Nagashima Spaland.

Coaster manufacturer links page

I hate how if you go to www.arrowdynamics.com, it automatically directs you to the S&S Power website. What ever happened to S&S Arrow? I know that Ingenieurbüro Stengel has a website. But Bolliger & Mabillard do not. Intamin's website is www.intaminworldwide.com, but it appears to be down. Of course www.hussrides.com is where you can find HUSS Maschinenfabrik. -
Well, that was pretty much identical to the PKD one. I really want that Supersonic tilt coaster thing. The drawing is wierd though - because it does not show the whole lift mechanism. What I can figure is that the track piece elevates, then tilts at the top to vertical - like the lift on UncleHenry's Devil Went Down to Georgia coaster.
-
Correct me if I am wrong - but I think that maXair will spin the opposite direction as Duhlee. This could have no effect - or make it better or worse. We will have to wait and see.
