Whatever the name, layout, or color scheme--I hope the trains are the traditional 2 seats wide

After years finally decided to get a meal plan. Since the kids wanted different things, my daughter and I went to Subway and wife and son to Coney BBQ. In the time that my wife and son had been through the CBQ line and eaten most of their food, we were still in the Subway line. They were making the sandwiches, bagging them up, tossing them in a pile for the cashier to re-open/find the correct one and eventually ring the guest up. The line seriously did not move at all. It's one thing to just be slow--but this was the most inefficient assembly line I've ever seen. My wife suggested they write the guests' names on the wrapped sandwiches lol.

Not for an adult, but my 7 year old who just made 48'' was pretty spooked by all the MT theming. We rode it at night last week and the fake security monitors, music, and shed all legitimately affected him. He is a total daredevil and will ride anything and everything-but he also has a cinematic imagination. Sure it's not Disney caliber, but a little goes a long way with kids who are just barely tall enough.

^ Yep...and although it was before Paramount, I kinda feel the same way about Adventure Express, although in hindsight enjoy it as a quality mine ride. The Paramount tendencies were rough for me having enjoyed Beast, Vortex, and King Cobra as a kid and then riding the big ones at Cedar Point (If they can fit those behemoths on that skinny little peninsula-why do we get chincey half-coasters when we have a million acres to work with?!?!!) I have always really liked FoF though and Tomb Raider was truly an experience. Wild to see the different iterations of park identity. If they want to stay this course of ambiance, nostalgia, and huge coasters-that's fine with me!
-
This was my main take away and applied to most of the Paramount era as well. Stuck in between whether it wanted to be a multi-sensory theme ride and a proper roller coaster

Am I missing something, or is the MCT track considerably smaller/narrower than the MCR which looks to be the trademark B&M track design?
-
I totally get that KI has a great arsenal of great/unique coasters. Still-the closest thing to 'next level' IMO is Banshee. Rides where you feel profoundly effected by the ride...I'd put TTD, MF, and SV all in that category and KI just doesn't have anything of that order-yet.

If they want to add to the Maverick/Steel Vengeance/Beast/Diamondback universe, I could see maroon/orange/red....If X-base/aliens it could be green/grey/dark.....if it's coney/all-american I'd love to have it be simply white supports with navy blue track.

1st visit this past Friday..just a few thoughts: -Had a minor mis-hap with our passes not working. While it looked to ultimately be our fault, the staff (girl's name was Cayden) was great at helping us through the process and making sure we made it in the park. -Love the retro KI lettering on the merch. They will sell a ton of it and it's the 1st time I've considered a KI hoodie. -The new brewhouse is nice, open, better beer, better food, and still a nice place to chill and watch baseball-Win. -Love The Beast 40 additions. My son just made 48'' so it was great to finally ride with him. It may be me, but it seems more fast and rough than before--absolutely ripped. -They got rid of the best deal in the park-the 25 cent Runts machines--lame! -I'm torn on the new I-street. On the one hand, it opens up the sight lines and allows you to see more from different vantage points. Especially noticed this while leaving through the walk by Boo Blasters (where the caricature booth is)...you could see straight through to the Festhaus and everything in between. Added a lot of depth and you could see more activity--you see the same effect in casinos. The buildings also look great. On the other hand, up close to the fountains it now lacks the majesty and ambiance you had with the trees. Big trees make a space seem bigger and the shade and size of the trees gave the areas close to the fountains an urban park feel which is gone now-the light booms are also obnoxious. In all-No change was going to be without cost, so I get it. This update improves the space from a distance at the cost of the up close....and those new trees will grow too. Overall, a great 1st trip-can't wait for many more, especially since my son can ride so much now!

The last big coaster (Banshee) was inverted-so I hope the giga will be a more traditional coaster. Not sure what the B&M gigas are like, but i personally want something that replicates the speed and scale of Millennium Force-but goes through the woods.

So I just watched the video of the new 'tiques... in action

Roving German brass band!! -
Rage all the 48' rides with my son who just grew that tall over the winter. Get to the waterpark early enough one day to actually enjoy the it-as opposed to enjoy the crowds, concrete, and understaffed slides
-
If you're looking to save $$ and like camping, there is a KOA right there. Avoid weekends like the plague. Millennium Force at sunset is a spiritual experience.
-
Yeah I figured it would be very hard to stick around in any of the main areas. Still a lot of shrubs/slightly wooded areas that I wondered if they swept or had infared.

What measures are in place to ensure that people (guests) don't spend the night in the park? Seems as if there are countless nooks and crannies and I can imagine folks trying to do it just to do it.
-
Absolutely love the Bavarian Beetle and Keelboat Canal pins....that old script with the 'I' that looks like a '7' takes be way back. Always confused me as a kid.
-
You measure your kid every week or so to make sure he's going to hit a legit 48 inches by opening day!
-
Wouldn't the pedestals prevent any sort of dancing water Bellagio-like fountain displays? Not saying which is better, but it seems that if they are going for dynamic water displays, they may be gone for good.

New Restaurant - Miami River Brewhouse (Replaces Reds)
HandsUp replied to Fye Coasters's topic in Kings Island
Always happy to see more good beer. Craft beer may be trendy, but it is a good trend. Food sounds amazing but I see (taste) better than I hear. Glad that they are keeping it a sit down bat area. Hopefully they will still have the Reds games on at least. -
Heard a rumor that the Reds HOF Grille was closing or being repurposed. Is this correct? Would be disappointed if true...always nice to sit and take in a few innings.

So awesome...I love old-school copywriting. What an amazing place it must have seemed.

I doubt it...they were big. Be nice to have them in Action Zone as well.
