Unless I'm mistaken or something has been changed, I believe guests are allowed to take photos on the train. If someone needs to correct me, now would be a good time for future reference. Also, if that is the case, I imagine Don is now furiously finding wood for a 2nd fence between the train and ground zero.

The train looks like it'll be the best spot by far to grab photos. There doesn't appear to be anything blocking it from the construction site....

It just looks like a flat cleared area of dirt on the webcam that only takes up the former funnel cake stand's location.

My first reaction to the fence poster is one of much excitement with what it could potentially be hinting towards. However, I will be patient and see where Don's shenanigan's lead us this time. Let Decoding 2017 begin!

I'll be on a year hiatus from Kings Island as I need a break from going there. As many wise people here have said, familiarity breeds contempt, and I feel I need a break from the things going on at KI that have been irking me as of the last few season (that is, unless I get the band gig). I will be going in late-August or whenever they start selling 2017 passes as I do want to get a Platinum Pass to get myself up to Cedar Point and possibly Michigan's Adventure and/or Dorney for 2017 (I may squeeze in Kennywood or Hershey if I do Dorney). My 2 main parks of interest this summer are Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom. I've not been to either and I'm looking forward to which each has to offer. Holiday World has been on my radar for a while, but its just outside of my day-trip limit for driving (I'm 3 hours from Santa Claus, IN plus a time zone change), so I'm making arrangements to stay nearby, mainly to give myself plenty of time to see what Holiday World and Splashin' Safari both have to offer. I'm approaching it like I normally do for a Cedar Point trip since this will be my first visit and I want to take my time. As many here have probably seen in the KK thread, I tend to rail on the park a lot. I was initially going to go visit back in the late 2000's, but that's when I heard about their imminent closure. I'll admit, I'm not as interested in the park as I was back when they still had Chang and the original Twisted Twins, but I might as well try to go when they're actually open. I'm just within my day-trip driving limit for Louisville (2 hours) and KK's short hours will help me out as well. I'll also likely be going once or twice to The Beach as well.

They've been training all weekend on Banshee from what I'm aware. I have a friend who's been posting pics of herself via Facebook with the Banshee team all weekend.

From my experience, opening day crowds have 2 factors- weather and things that are new for that season. Bigger rides opening like Banshee will draw stupid crazy crowds. Smaller rides opening, or in this case, rides opening later in the season and/or in Soak City will draw less. Good weather will draw crowds as well, but not as much by itself. I've found on those days, it starts with kind of a lull, then has a surge of people from about noon until dinner. Bad weather will keep crowds away for the most part. I remember during WindSeeker's opening year that 1. it wasn't opened until June and 2. the weather was rather cool and it went on like a slightly busier weekday. I think the max I waited on rides not named Firehawk and Flight of Fear that day was around 20 minutes. In contrast, Banshee's opening day was incredibly crowded, at least for Banshee (it drew crowds away from the rest of the rides from what I remember, waits were about 30-60 minutes). I might recommend eating outside the park that day. The food department is typically pretty bad that day and the lines will be pretty long for about every stand.

I like the rustic feel of the building. At least they're attempting to blend it in with Rivertown.

Do you happen to remember any of the lyrics, or was it instrumental? Just instrumental, it is a tune that I got stuck in my head and I can't seem to find it. Was it a song meant for Halloween? The only stuff I can think off that would fit is the music from Nightmare Before Christmas.

Just for comparison- how tall is The Cliff (the big red slide) at The Beach? Though, I just realized those 3 taller slides only drop at that steep angle for about 1/3 of the total height before zipping through those curves.

Swung by the park during my long break between classes to check out things. The slides look sharp. The actual slide pieces are going up, including the drop door portions of the taller slides and some of the smaller tube slides. Having minimal water park experience, I have to say, that new slide looks pretty tall. I still remember thinking the old Fast Track slides were tall, but these new ones take the cake. Loving the colors, too. I also love the new entrance. However, I noticed that the only new paving is for the new entrance. The rest of the parking lot is still the same. Bummer. Also, I have a question- Will there still be 2 parking lot exits (north and south) or will there be only 1 exit?

This is the same country that had a park say they'd have to have guest sign wavers to ride (Alton Towers' Thirteen).

I don't think they would build a coaster over the entrance given the area it would have to turn around. It'd be messing with either employee parking, handicapped parking, or the backstage area. I think a pleasing aesthetic would be something they would consider when building a coaster. I don't want Kings Island pulling a Six Flags and building parking lot coasters, thank you very much. As for what coaster I would like next, I say either a Mack Wild Mouse or a GCI.

Looks like Off The Charts is sticking to the same instrumentation with a 8 piece band (2 trumpets, a sax, a trombone, bass, guitar, drum set, and auxiliary perc).

Disneyland has an entire entertainment enterprise behind it to represent as well as having massive funds to work with via the Mouse's empire. Two things Kings Island either lacks or pales in comparison.

How about LED chasers on Racer?

You guys, this is obviously Six Flags envy. The park is trying to emulate their color choices of the past to match their ever high standards in color choices.
