  1. ^I'd say it depends on what you want to do. If you want to ride a little more, go Friday. If you want to just take your time and are willing to get through the crowds, go Saturday. It is supposed to rain and be on the cooler side this weekend which will likely thin crowds out, so it could be good either way. I've always found that opening days that don't have a major thrill ride, whether it'd be a coaster or a large flat like Delirium, they aren't too bad. There will be, of course, some trial and error with the staff and the rides, but that comes with the territory of going to a park on opening day.
  2. Yeah, I'm taking my good camera both days this weekend to re-stock my KI photos from when I had to completely re-boot my laptop, and I plan on finding 2020 stuffs.
  3. I know Paramount tried to rid the park of alcohol when they first acquired the park and got some major backlash, but could it work out better now? I wouldn't be opposed to it (or even just stop alcohol sales for the Haunt and Winterfest), but I wonder how the GP would react.
  4. Well, maybe not during rain (being hit with water bullets at upwards of 50 mph is not fun to me), but wet wooden coaster tracks make for smoother and seemingly faster rides. Even fairly bad wooden coasters can vastly improve with a bit of H2O. As malem pointed out, the later part of Saturday looks ideal. Except Son of Beast. Speaking from experience. Also, beware of Bat when it rains.
  5. Rain rides on Racer, Beast and Mystic Timbers are always a good thing, too.
  6. Some of the best KIC meet ups I've had are ones where it rained.
  7. We should also wait and see with how the storm may hit. A lot of the local stations are saying scattered showers for Saturday, and sometimes, Kings Mills is on the outskirts of those systems due to the way storms develop and ride along the Ohio River valley (the Ohio River is a HUGE factor in how weather tracks around here, kind of a reason why Cincinnati weather is so weird). Kings Island might get lucky. Or KI could get directly hit, too. I'll wait till Friday's models come out to judge how Saturday will be. Friday looks to be less wet than Saturday (they're calling Friday's rain to come earlier in the day). Also, on the rain on Good Friday spiel- it didn't rain when KI opened on Good Friday in 2014 either.
  8. I would also like to add that you shouldn't be afraid to fact check. Don't worry about what trolls think or how they'll react. Point out what's correct and what's wrong if you are capable so we can have a proper conversation. The faster you discredit and kneecap them, the faster they go away. And trust me, if I've learned anything from the past 2 decoding threads, its that we'll see a ton of them here.
  9. Even if this is 'going along with a troll' or some other stupid thing, I think its still important to point out bad information, fake images, and other disinformation, particularly for visitors reading the forums. With the way info can blow up on the internet, its still important to show what is legitimate and what is not.
  10. ^Actually, its close. The Zoo's went 'There's so much fun for everyone'. Kind of a neat coincidence. silver2005, a long time Cincinnati native.
  11. ^I believe that was part of a Cincinnati Zoo jingle.
  12. Speed, Spin, Splash, and Sing through the Summer.
  13. If its a floorless coaster, my only real request is that it starts off with a jojo roll. I wonder if B&M can put the newer restraints a la Banshee on a floorless.
  14. I'm looking through some old photos from other sites (won't post them due to not knowing their legality), and I see supports.
  15. ^Maybe I've just been too focused on the track when I visited/viewed photos.
  16. I'm pretty sure RMC is also in-house for both the Topper Track and Iron Horse.
  17. I don't know about most others, but I believe Intamin has their own Swiss steel plant and then ship it. I recall I-305 and Skyrush track arriving in shipping containers. I think Mack has a similar practice. On the B&M steel, I know the Clermont plant makes the track, but I wonder where the supports are made. I don't recall supports ever sitting outside the Clermont plant.
  18. For The Beast trains- did they only re-paint them in-house or did they send them to PTC for a bit more of a rehab?
  19. I'm gonna go out on a limb here- I wouldn't mind a deep shade of purple like Mako or Apollo's Chariot.
  20. How about black track, silver rails and cross-ties with blue supports?
  21. My preferred colors for the alleged giga would be something along the lines of Behemoth and Talon.
  22. ^I'm sure KD fans will hate that one.
  23. I think you guys are giving too much credit to YouTube and social media in that they'll participate in such attempts to do away with illegal POV's with how much they focus on views as part of their business. There are a lot of other things (things I can't discuss because TOS) that they also should be censoring but don't.
  24. @Creed Bratton True. Also, I think the RMC in BGT is beyond vertical with the likely use of lap bars, though if it does have lap bars, it'll be the heavier set like SV has, at least compared to the slightly more minimal restraints on, say, Storm Chaser. I still suspect they'd modify it some how (maybe not with a vertical drop but if its beyond vertical, than I think it'd be likely), and I'm not a fan of the vests that restrict air time on dive coasters like Valravn (I'm okay with them on Banshee as its more of a positive G and inversion focused ride) and I hate shin restraints in general. Intamin's T lap bars are also pretty tight compared to B&M lap bars. Even being stapled on a B&M hyper has a bit of room to work with. I think it'd be likely that B&M and/or Ohio gov't might make those adjustments if the first drop and/or layout is too wacky. Just look at how the restraints on Steel Vengeance differ from pretty much every other RMC with the kind of layout it has. I could be wrong, but I think there's enough to go on in context where restraints beyond a simple lap bar are certainly plausible. I think the NTAG accident still dwells in the minds of coaster manufactures and parks. But, this is being nitpicky. I think it'll be a standard 80 degree drop a la every other B&M giga. You don't need that much impressing with a 300+ ft drop.
