  1. I'd bet it was LIM's. LSM's were just coming into being on coasters around that time (Superman: The Escape at SFMM was the first).
  2. I agree with the 'that's it?' sentiment. For having such a great start, just a bunch of 0g rolls and s-curves was pretty underwhelming. Then again, it was the first launched inverted coasters, and Intamin is usually lax on making good layouts for prototype coasters, so I'll give them a little leeway there.
  3. I'm not sure of how KD's land is laid out, but isn't it roughly the same size as KI in terms of acreage?
  4. ^That can't be- KD has Dominator. Also, it must be asked given KD's history- will they keep the mountain? It in and of itself seems to be a curse for the stuff that goes in it.
  5. Me right now. (Hint- I'm going to Doswell this summer) I was really looking forward to getting another ride on it. It really is one of my favorite coasters. The whole launch sequence is so well done even if the rest of the ride isn't as great. Also, chalk up another notch in why CF isn't going to work with Intamin anytime soon.
  6. ^Its factually true. I've ridden Michigan's Adventure's Corkscrew and CP's Corkscrew within days of each other, which was built around the same time and has similar rolling stock, but the floor is lower on the Muskegon ride than the Sandusky version. I'm on the shorter side and I'm still cramped on CP's Corkscrew. MIA's on the other hand is really fun for its size and age. Its quite re-rideable, and it doesn't hurt it has a flashy paint job.
  7. I didn't find T3 all that bad. It had weird pacing issues and the restraints cut the circulation off to my legs due to the fact its a positive G beast that staples it on its own, but I'd re-ride it if I go back to the Hartland. Same with MIA's Thunderhawk.
  8. The worst wooden coaster I've been on is Son of Beast post-2007 with KD's Hurler not too far behind. silver2005, who is excited to see how RMC Hurler fares. @McSalsa- having been there twice and have ridden both, I can attest to El Toro being quite a substantial upgrade. I do miss Great American Scream Machine though. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I thought it was great. It was one of the great park entry coasters out there, I loved how flashy they presented it, with the name, the all out American theme, and it was a monster in terms of size, one of the biggest looping coasters in the world. It was quite the welcomer and I really liked it. I really, really hope to make it to SFMM's Viper before it bites the dust. I did get to see Batman and Robin: The Chiller operate (both sides, which was rare considering the Batman side was down a lot) but it went down for the day right before the cycle I was about to board. My first visit cemented me being an enthusiast with my first ride on Medusa. Its one of the rides that really got me into the hobby and still lives up to being one of my favorite steel coasters to this day. To give you guys an idea of what Viper was, it was one of the only Togo sit down looping coasters built in the US. It was a rather out of the box design as it had several elements not really well known to Togo- and inclined dive loop and a 0g roll. The later is significant as Togo was experimenting with the 0g roll concept, both in this and their Ultra Twister models. However, Togo isn't really well known for using high quality steel, so they were notoriously uncomfortable, though, it was lucky that it was only 88 ft tall and wasn't even 2000 ft long. The restraints raised and lowered parallel to the seat, not like most OTSR's where they pivot. If any of you have ridden Togo stand ups, the restraints on Viper went up and down similar to how the stand up seats would raise and lower. Viper's restraints would come down very close to your head and they were very hard. They way they supported the 0g roll was using support rings, and they got the idea of using them for the entire coaster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdF8v8H7V5M
  9. Viper that used to be at Six Flags Great Adventure. Togo's sit down restraints are awful, the support rings made it very claustrophobic, and a very rough ride.
  10. Wasn't the name Champion being floated around, too?
  11. I honestly hope X-Base gets a makeover, not just the alleged new ride, but some other things as well. What's the land like between X-Base and the Dinos Alive path? Is it feasible for a path (as in, not too hilly and/or doesn't require a lot of smoothing out to put a path)? I would like to think that'd be the logical place to build up since they already have some basic infrastructure to work with. There should be ways to work around the warehouses. I mean, if you're going to put a ride as large and elaborate as a B&M back there, it ought to have some supporting area to accommodate it and Flight of Fear.
  12. Why would you expect someone who is head of the Food Department to not know how to cook? Where's Terpy when you need him?
  13. Haven't we had this conversation a million times now? Is this site stuck in a mobius loop of threads?
  14. I still want Behemoth/Talon/Mantis style colors for the B&M. Or maybe even something l like Raging Bull. A really dark purple, blue, or black would work, too. One thing you could do with blue is for the first hill, start with dark blue at the base and let it fade to white as you get to the top , go back to blue as you go down and keep the rest of the track blue. If it's green, I just don't want it to match Raptor and Hydra. Not a fan of that combination on such a big coaster. Kingda Ka is an eyesore. Black or gold supports would be good, or if you want it to pop, a deep magenta (see Walibi's Goliath). Just not red or anything close. I'd also like to see some LED's go up the lift a la Fury 325 and Valravn. Considering it's likely to be around Banshee, it would be a nice combination of lighting packages. A tunnel of some sort would be nice, maybe lined with chasers to enhance the feeling of speed.
  15. I knew that, I was just verifying if they were still in Utah/the US or not since I knew they were apart of that Japanese firm, which has been answered.
  16. HUSS also comes to mind. Also with Intamin, there are more than just Intamin coasters at CF parks. Does S&S or Vekoma make Arrow parts? If S&S, are they domestic?
  17. Well, obviously, the giga will be Santa themed with the mention of deer, which will tie in to Winterfest quite well. The X-Base tie in is with how NORAD tracks Santa every Christmas, which will obviously lead Flight of Fear to be permanently named Flight of Cheer. Holiday World, eat your heart out.
  18. I honestly don't think HP would be building that early as they already have the dilemma of having to make a temporary entrance with that also on the docket and their hyper is mostly towards the front of the park. EDIT: Then again, they did ship in the Skyrush track early and let it sit for most of the season before going vertical.
  19. UC's last day is April 26 with exam week being the following week. XU, NKU, and MU finish even later.
  20. That's track that hasn't been processed completely yet. That color you see is rust, how it looks before its primed and painted. Though, not all of it rusts like that, some of the track will be grey as well. That's probably the newer track produced, I'm guessing before the rust sets in. The thicker spine track are on all hypers and gigas at the bottoms of the bigger drops.
  21. I know what @pianoman is hoping for with the fountains.
