  1. Its just wierd to me, since the majority of what Lance puts on Screamscape about KI is found on these forums. And none of us have really given reason to believe there will be a big expensive coaster in 2014. It just makes me wonder where hes pulling this from.
  2. Lmao, oops. I saw Tower and was like "oh Eiffel Tower, yes!" lol. But yes, that's what I meant.
  3. ^Hopefully someone will take a picture of that clearing for us on their next visit?
  4. My question is, since the coaster wars are far over, do you believe that the coaster enthusiast population is slowly dying off? I seem to feel as that the ACE population, as well as other coaster clubs aren't as prevalent in the scene today. Enthusiast events, like HoliWood Nights, seem to be less of an occurence as they used to be. So my question is, do you believe that the enthusiast population has (and/or will continue to) decrease as the years go by? And will this effect the industry as a whole?
  5. As I type, AZ Kinda Guy is reading these posts. Hopefully he gets the message
  6. I as well hate doing Top Tens. It's too hard. It's like picking your favorite kids. Lol. Here goes: 1. Voyage 2. Diamondback 3. Maverick 4. Millennium Force 5. Top Thrill Dragster 6. Firehawk 7. Flight of Fear 8. Son of Beast 9. Raven 10. Beast Now this being said, my opinions vary by day. but if water coasters were included Mammoth would be somewhere in the wide range of 1-7, therefore knocking off Beast. Yet again, I hate making these lists because their so hard.
  7. I really miss UncleHenry when it comes to the offseason. Nothing is like an annual UncleHenry KIC Game. But some others really come to mind to me. Beast1979, gigacoaster2k, beastfan29?, Jasper (I see him everynow and again on here.), TOPGUN1993, Dane, violakat. And thats just off the top of my head. I'm sure theres more I'm forgetting and I am sorry. lol. But I really really wish more of them visited more often. Its a funny thing how much one or two certain posters can lighten up this place. Does anyone else remember the infamous, Camping Out For Diamondback, thread? Even though it was complete nonsense (and I understand the need to dispose of it.) but that was one of the most fun threads ever on this forum. Oh good times. lol. I wish someone could revive it, just so I can read all of it over and over again. lol And I feel like its important to give a shoutout to a certain Terpy. Even though hes not really on of the past. Because without him, I know that I wouldn't have lasted this long on the forum. Definitely a great person to have around here, and a great contributor to why I belive KIC has been so successful. So thank you.
  8. My first coaster came at the age of 13. I was horrified of the things. My mom tricked me into going on Flight of Fear to break my coaster-virginity. She told convinced the group in front of us to tell me that it was just a room that spins around a whole bunch. Which was partially right. But I got off of it and was in love. So naturally, my dad threw me on Son of Beast without even batting an eye. Cause thats a good idea.. needless to say, it beat the snot out of me. I LOVED it. lol. Shocking right? Its just one of those things where adriniline took over and I got an attachment for the coaster. More so than Beast actuallly. But thats how my addiction started.
  9. Okay, I feel like this is a part of the park I have never really noticed. I have no clue of what this Paramount story is. Please inform me?
  10. Where on Earth did this rumor come from? And how is it even possible?
  11. I wish Timberwolf would just go away. It seems like we're already scrapping the useless in Action Zone, why stop at Thunder Alley?
  12. "Perhaps"? FOFreak, reading closely.
  13. My guess is that no ones right and KI's pulled a fast on on us and they're suprising us with a SOB 2.0 next year!
  14. Well I voted B&M Giga. But I'm not sure that Make or Model even matter to me that this point. Let me break this down into FOFreak type thoughts. I'm a fan of airtime. I do not care how tall it is or how fast it goes, as long as it delivers some serious airtime. I love Diamondbacks airtime hills. Love them. And I'm inclined to believe that Millenium Force at Cedar Point is overrated. Minus the first hill, it really lacks that airtime I want. Levithian I can't say for because I haven't ridden it. So my stance on this matter is that, as long as it has plenty of airtime, I don't care. Some kind of Giga would be cool, but I'd rather not have a Millie. Honestly, I wouldn't be too disappointed to have a Maverick-esqe ride at the park.
  15. I believe that is Holiday Worlds very first waterslide, Amazoom. And as for the Voyage and its maintenance fiasco that seems to happen every season. I LOVE the Voyage. One of my favorite coasters for that matter. But I somewhat wonder how well it will age 10-20 years down the road. If I am correct, it is the steel supports on the coaster that is the direct cause of all of the track fatigue. And does anyone "in the know" know what the three year delay on the Timberliners has been about? Will they even help?
  16. Although I am extremely skeptical, I have had my share of Interning (not for KI or CF, actually in the government.) and I can easily see how information could be overheard, seen accidentally, anything of that nature. But yet again, with this being such a high-profile matter, I am highly skeptical. And also, if Dill really is an Intern.. hes screwed. So good luck.
  17. Yes, B&M track along with most if not all coasters are designed to bend like that. I actually have a video of the Diamondback bending on here somewhere... *waves magic wand* Ahahhhhh, I found it! There are alot of slow-mo or sped up angles that really show off how much the track actually bends. Its crazy looking. But in all reality, all coasters have to have those tolerances in them for bending and such because if not, they would much sooner wear down due to stress, be much brittler, and something tells me due to the lessened stress on the track it would consequently make the riding experience smoother. Idk, I'm just speculating on the last part. Actually as I do recall, one time I was at Holiday World this year, I legitimately thought that Legend was going to just topple over to the side because of how much I was watching in bend from my point of view in line for Zinga.
  18. Hopefully, once construction starts next season, things may get a little more interesting around here. Maybe some of the KIC vets will come out of hiding.
  19. Lol I've realized that. The forum was so much fun back in the day. I miss that alot. Like Jasper, BEAST1979, LongLiveTheSmurfRide, UncleHenry, Gigacoaster2K and even the mods it seems like don't post on here very regularly at all. And I'm just naming the ones off the top of my head. The forum used to be so fun, relaxed, and yet was very good about people not being "too" stupid. I honestly would love to visit alot more often, but somehow, its just not the same.
  20. Haha you sure haven't! I tend to linger more often than not anymore.
  21. Oh boy, I can only wait to see how many trolls and/or corrupt interns pop up once actual construction begins next season. lol. Not just deconstructon.. err.. or not even that yet for that matter.
  22. Although I am very glad that a desicion was made, I am also somewhat saddened by this news. This was my first "scary" coaster that I rode when I was young. As soon as I got off of it, I knew I could ride just about anything. It's just kind of sentimental to me. And for some reason, I legitimately enjoyed this coaster alot. But in the other light, I'm also very excited to see something new. Something we can get excited about. I'm ready for Kings Island to get something big.
  23. Wow is all I can say. I knew the Kochs were a class act, but dang. This is far and beyond.
