  1. If the trim brakes in the shed were turned down, I would have called it phenomenal. Just kind of cruising through the tunnel ruins it for me. It's nowhere near as rough as SoB, but it is painful for me if I ride it too much- like RWW. After five or six times, I went over to marathon on BLSC (so sue me! I enjoy that ride) and Vortex. Still a fun ride, though.
  2. They are? Which sign?
  3. Ask any GP what the first thing they think of when they hear Son of Beast is- from many, you will either hear about the 2006 accident, roughness, or the loop removal. Not a good thing for the park...
  4. Actually, I love most of the woodies I've been on. I don't mind them being rough, but when they actually inflict pain, I don't see any reason to ride them. I don't touch a hot burner on the stove because it hurts. I don't stick my fingers in the electrical sockets because it hurts. I don't stab myself with a knife because it hurts. Why would I ride SoB if it hurts?
  5. It's even worse than Mean Streak, which people have wanted to tear down for years. Guess what? Mean Streak is actually enjoyable this year, I even rode it twice in a row!
  6. I dislike that ride from start to finish. The chain lift is way too loud- you would think the ride used Morgan trains. The first drop is fun, but it all goes downhill from there (Terpy, NO.). From the bottom of the first drop through the rest of the ride, my spine gets beaten and beaten until I really wish that I just hadn't ridden. It's the only coaster where I ever even considered disembarking from the train before it arrived in the station! And, it sits at #73 on the list of coasters I've ridden, sorted from best to worst. How many coasters have I ridden? 73.
  7. And then, at RWW, that it had low ridership.
  8. ^^And KI said that SoB was closed for mechanical reasons.
  9. Thanks! I remember those parks, as my grandparents live not too far from them and we used to go every year. The indoor caterpillar at Delgrosso's is called Space Oddysey.
  10. Doesn't the email address pop up on the screen before they send it?
  11. It seems like whoever put the information site isn't a ride warrior. Or, at least, hasn't been to KI.
  12. I noticed that the Country Brook subdivision in Springboro has the same lampposts that Rivertown got this year.
  13. I noticed something else about Crypt's card: Four times? Boiling lava? Razor-tipped stalagmites? Bellow? More like... Edit: Firehawk's calls the flying position the "superman" position. Hmm. Edit 2: The Flight Deck obviously isn't ours, either. It's not even close. Edit 3: Invertigo's extra pictures aren't of KI's. Edit 4: Two of The Beast's extra pictures are of SoB. Fail!
  14. Wait- there's BB ERT, but none of the actual slides are open? Why even bother?
  15. And, for extra Crypt fail: That obviously isn't our Crypt.
  16. MF, Maverick, and WT had assigned seats when I went.
  17. Well, he would let people fill in whatever rows they wanted, then, whatever was empty, he would assign. Mildly annoying, but I got assigned the front, so .
  18. It did on the 16th. Flight of Fear seems to be one of the rides in most need of a grouper. I've seen three trains worth of people waiting for one of the middle cars, but one trains worth of people waiting for the front or back!
  19. Well, considering that this thread has almost ten pages, only a fraction of which are negative toward the thread, I'd say the majority don't find the thread to be unnecessary. Don't get me wrong- I love KI. But, KI isn't perfect. Neither am I, and neither are you. We all have our flaws, and sometimes, things need to be said. I wasn't trying to make myself sound grumpy by starting the thread (well, maybe TTD being down for 1.5 days was part of it), I just had noticed a lot of negative threads lately (SoB is down threads turining into burn SoB-fests, etc.). I was fully intending to create a "Things that you love about the park" thread, but I got beat to it. And, many of the things in this thread ARE true- it's not like we're making stuff up or complaing about little things. DB's splashdown water IS green, line jumping IS a problem (which it is NOT at CP), etc. And, best of all, most of the negative comments are neatly rolled up into one thread! Which, of course, means, if you don't like negativity about the park, you can just skip this thread and pretend it doesn't exist. CedarPointer, who can't believe he just typed that much!
  20. I have a feeling they'll keep those domains until most people stop using them. Many people I know still use pki.com, and some haven't even heard of visitkingsisland.com!
  21. I only saw line jumping twice at CP, and it was the same family both times. Once, they even asked me to take their picture? Since they seemed to need the hint, I also took a picture of the "LINE JUMPING IS PROHIBITED" sign. I wonder if they ever noticed it...
  22. "Remember, 'garage' is one letter away from 'garbage'!"
  23. Does that noise sound anything like, "check check check check CLEAR!"? Or does it sound more like the "hiss CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK" of a trim brake?
  24. They do? Well, they also sell tight, short shorts that say "Top Thrill" on the back, so we can't really look to CF for modest clothing.
