  1. I would have gotten a picture, but I didn't have my camera phone or a camera. I'm sure there will be a pic on here before the end of the day, since it got a lot of attention from those in line. I didn't say anything because I honestly thought the person checking restraints was going to.
  2. So, today, we drove town to KI to get my dad's platinum pass, since we're going to Cedar Point in a week. After parking (in Drop Tower 36, just for the record), we went to the front gate to get his e-ticket processed. Since I already had mine, I walked with him into the pass processing room and walked directly out the doors back outside to wait for him. While standing outside the door, a rather rude employee told me to "move it". Didn't really bother me, so I didn't say anything, I just moved. First, we walked over to Drop Tower. I rode on it once, then we heard the announcement for Endless Summer on Ice. Since I hadn't seen it yet, we walked over to KI Theatre to see it. We ended up being the first people to walk in, so we went to the center of the front row. Before the show started, Scooby Doo and his attendant came down to play a game with the audience (when Scooby points to the right, they yell "Scooby!". When he points to the left, they yell "Doo!". Scooby! Doo! Doo! Scooby! etc.). Scooby shook hands with me and my dad. Even though I'm 15 years old, this still really made my day. Thanks, Scooby! I really enjoyed the show! I got covered in shaved ice, but it was worth it! Next, we headed over to Diamondback. We were going to ride SDatHC, but there was a pretty long line. While walking over to DB, we ran into dare-to-fly, who quickly noticed my Prowler shirt that I got last year at WoF. Now, for my favorite thing I've ever seen at KI. They have now added a large, clear box of broken cell phones under the "LOOSE ARTICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED" sign in DB's queue. I had to stop because I was laughing so hard! I also noticed that they had a security person stationed in the line. Did someone from the park read IBEW_Sparky's thread? I didn't see any line jumpers, so I was happy. Now, for one of the worst safety violations I've seen at the park. In the standby line, there was a mother and her son. They height-checked the son, and he was a good inch or two too short to ride. She got in line for a seat with him, and said that he'd just walk across the train and wait for her at the exit. They seemed to be okay with this. When the gates opened, they walked to their seats, and he rode anyway. He rode anyway. He rode anyway. I was really surprised that none of the ride operators noticed, or, if they did, none of them said anything. After we left DB (and the park), we went to the Skyline by The Beach.
  3. Well, the queue seems to encourage that sort of behavior. It's too dark and, well, unsupervised looking.
  4. Here's another good PKI video: How long has the ///HIGH SECURITY AREA/// lettering over SoB/FD's queue been missing? I'm sure I saw it in person at one point, but it's not there this year.
  5. How about this: Use some glue on the peeling wallpaper (?) rock stuff in the queue, turn the lights inside the ride chamber off totally, and remove a few of the tacky plastic spiders in the queue. Also, could we please get some Febreeze for the queue? It smelled like pee last time I was there.
  6. Those signs are still up? I haven't seen any. I never visited PKI, so I can't really comment on this, but I would have loved to have seen TRTR before the retheme. Wait! Can it be considered a retheme since CF didn't really, well, theme it?
  7. I wonder why this particular station decided to do a story on this, but not on the line jumping, which actually IS an issue.
  8. Well, they DO make an announcement for thunderstorms now. Hmm...
  9. ^^ I agree. All of Worlds of Fun's coasters have POVs, even the Wacky Worm! Why not Kings Island? Where else?
  10. I've always heard that it said "Something new is dropping in here soon!".
  11. Wow, I can't say I've ever gone on a ride that I physically couldn't put my hands up on...
  12. During my first time on the ride, yes.
  13. No. CedarPointer, thinking different.
  14. The only thing I find slightly offensive about the upkeep of the park is the two neat little piles of bird that are visible when you are going up AE's first lift. When you're first going onto the lift, look to your left at the lift motor for lift 2. Apparently, AE was quite the adventure for some poor bird. Could they PLEASE clean that up? It's starting to smell...
  15. But, considering how liberal many public schools are, I doubt that will happen for a long time. CedarPointer, who was shocked when his Springboro HS science teacher taught that global warming was not true.
  16. I always just walk buy, not making eye contact (and walk the opposite direction from them). However, if they do say something, I politely say "no thank you".
  17. She'll actually write it, capitalized and all. On one of my projects (which included something on NU), she wrote: "Your name for the kids area at PKI is incorrect. Last time I was there, it was called Kiddyland."
  18. Flight of Fear's first inversion.
  19. My computer teacher. She doesn't know ANY of the ride names, and she's NOT going to learn them anytime soon. Let's see, she calls Nick Universe "kiddyland", Diamondback "that viper thing", uses The Beast/The Beastie/Son of Beast interchangably, she's called the Eiffel Tower "Space Spiral", and apparently Vortex is now known as King Cobra. *sigh..*
  20. "If you are currently stuck in The Beast, push down and pull up on your lapbar." Oh, and I wasn't aware that "King's Island" was a family establishment. (I kid, I kid)
  21. I saw a group of at least TWENTY line jump FOF today. Since the line wasn't really that long (I was near the back anyway), I hopped under the handrail, after seeing two or three others do the same, and walked back to the beginning of the line and let the height-checker know. The employees actually did end up doing something about it. Line Jumpers: 3, Kings Island: 1.
