  1. I was hit in line for Crypt with a phone. For added effect, it was still in a call! Kat, thanks for the pic of the phone box.
  2. I really, honestly think that the gondala has lost the ability to move on its own.
  3. Be thankful that our BLSC isn't in our jungle themed area. Just saying.
  4. Is it frowned upon for anyone besides younger kids to get pictures with the characters? Just curious.
  5. We could also just have a "Amusement Park Simulators" subforum, with [RCT] in the topic title for a RCT park, [NLT] for a NoLimits, etc.
  6. They did remove the trims last year. And, by remove, I literally mean remove. They weren't physically present. Now, I don't know if that's changed this year, but I'm hoping it hasn't.
  7. Timber Wolf got some very extensive track work done this year (think Beast), I've heard it's quite smooth again. I got to marathon it late last season, when the first half of the ride was retracked. Loved it! Mamba has always run one train when I've been at the park. Even of Fourth of July 2008.
  8. The video still does play. The lighting effects were removed to deter line jumping and other inappropriate behavior. Going to KI last year reminded me how having a themed coaster really does change the experience. While good theming doesn't excuse a bad coaster, theming really does add to the ride. I have no doubt I enjoy FOF more with the theming than I would without it.
  9. It's sad walking through Flight of Fear's queue line, knowing that there'll never be a ride like it at the park again. While there may be rides that are just as thrilling, they just won't be as special, because they won't have theming, light effects, etc.
  10. Heard both of these in line for Drop Tower today: Girl: *points at Sling Shot* Hey, look! It's the Moon Shot! Boy: After this, let's go ride the Timber Mountain Log Ride. (I wonder what he actually meant! Congo Falls is near Timberwolf, but it doesn't have logs... Thornberries isn't anywhere near Timberwolf, so I can't figure out where that one came from...) On DT: Girl: *points at the old DZ logo painted on DT's queue building* Hey, look! Is that a target to hit if someone falls off?
  11. I would have gotten a picture, but I didn't have my camera phone or a camera. I'm sure there will be a pic on here before the end of the day, since it got a lot of attention from those in line. I didn't say anything because I honestly thought the person checking restraints was going to.
  12. So, today, we drove town to KI to get my dad's platinum pass, since we're going to Cedar Point in a week. After parking (in Drop Tower 36, just for the record), we went to the front gate to get his e-ticket processed. Since I already had mine, I walked with him into the pass processing room and walked directly out the doors back outside to wait for him. While standing outside the door, a rather rude employee told me to "move it". Didn't really bother me, so I didn't say anything, I just moved. First, we walked over to Drop Tower. I rode on it once, then we heard the announcement for Endless Summer on Ice. Since I hadn't seen it yet, we walked over to KI Theatre to see it. We ended up being the first people to walk in, so we went to the center of the front row. Before the show started, Scooby Doo and his attendant came down to play a game with the audience (when Scooby points to the right, they yell "Scooby!". When he points to the left, they yell "Doo!". Scooby! Doo! Doo! Scooby! etc.). Scooby shook hands with me and my dad. Even though I'm 15 years old, this still really made my day. Thanks, Scooby! I really enjoyed the show! I got covered in shaved ice, but it was worth it! Next, we headed over to Diamondback. We were going to ride SDatHC, but there was a pretty long line. While walking over to DB, we ran into dare-to-fly, who quickly noticed my Prowler shirt that I got last year at WoF. Now, for my favorite thing I've ever seen at KI. They have now added a large, clear box of broken cell phones under the "LOOSE ARTICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED" sign in DB's queue. I had to stop because I was laughing so hard! I also noticed that they had a security person stationed in the line. Did someone from the park read IBEW_Sparky's thread? I didn't see any line jumpers, so I was happy. Now, for one of the worst safety violations I've seen at the park. In the standby line, there was a mother and her son. They height-checked the son, and he was a good inch or two too short to ride. She got in line for a seat with him, and said that he'd just walk across the train and wait for her at the exit. They seemed to be okay with this. When the gates opened, they walked to their seats, and he rode anyway. He rode anyway. He rode anyway. I was really surprised that none of the ride operators noticed, or, if they did, none of them said anything. After we left DB (and the park), we went to the Skyline by The Beach.
  13. Well, the queue seems to encourage that sort of behavior. It's too dark and, well, unsupervised looking.
  14. The link doesn't work for me...
  15. Here's another good PKI video: How long has the ///HIGH SECURITY AREA/// lettering over SoB/FD's queue been missing? I'm sure I saw it in person at one point, but it's not there this year.
  16. How about this: Use some glue on the peeling wallpaper (?) rock stuff in the queue, turn the lights inside the ride chamber off totally, and remove a few of the tacky plastic spiders in the queue. Also, could we please get some Febreeze for the queue? It smelled like pee last time I was there.
  17. This made me a little sad:
  18. Those signs are still up? I haven't seen any. I never visited PKI, so I can't really comment on this, but I would have loved to have seen TRTR before the retheme. Wait! Can it be considered a retheme since CF didn't really, well, theme it?
  19. I wonder why this particular station decided to do a story on this, but not on the line jumping, which actually IS an issue.
  20. Well, they DO make an announcement for thunderstorms now. Hmm...
  21. ^^ I agree. All of Worlds of Fun's coasters have POVs, even the Wacky Worm! Why not Kings Island? Where else?
  22. I've always heard that it said "Something new is dropping in here soon!".
