  1. It did on the 16th. Flight of Fear seems to be one of the rides in most need of a grouper. I've seen three trains worth of people waiting for one of the middle cars, but one trains worth of people waiting for the front or back!
  2. Well, considering that this thread has almost ten pages, only a fraction of which are negative toward the thread, I'd say the majority don't find the thread to be unnecessary. Don't get me wrong- I love KI. But, KI isn't perfect. Neither am I, and neither are you. We all have our flaws, and sometimes, things need to be said. I wasn't trying to make myself sound grumpy by starting the thread (well, maybe TTD being down for 1.5 days was part of it), I just had noticed a lot of negative threads lately (SoB is down threads turining into burn SoB-fests, etc.). I was fully intending to create a "Things that you love about the park" thread, but I got beat to it. And, many of the things in this thread ARE true- it's not like we're making stuff up or complaing about little things. DB's splashdown water IS green, line jumping IS a problem (which it is NOT at CP), etc. And, best of all, most of the negative comments are neatly rolled up into one thread! Which, of course, means, if you don't like negativity about the park, you can just skip this thread and pretend it doesn't exist. CedarPointer, who can't believe he just typed that much!
  3. I have a feeling they'll keep those domains until most people stop using them. Many people I know still use pki.com, and some haven't even heard of visitkingsisland.com!
  4. I only saw line jumping twice at CP, and it was the same family both times. Once, they even asked me to take their picture? Since they seemed to need the hint, I also took a picture of the "LINE JUMPING IS PROHIBITED" sign. I wonder if they ever noticed it...
  5. "Remember, 'garage' is one letter away from 'garbage'!"
  6. Does that noise sound anything like, "check check check check CLEAR!"? Or does it sound more like the "hiss CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK" of a trim brake?
  7. They do? Well, they also sell tight, short shorts that say "Top Thrill" on the back, so we can't really look to CF for modest clothing.
  8. The commercial could have been made before Diamondback was running trains. I don't have a problem with them substituting Behemoth for Diamondback, since they are very similar. Now, I did see a Boomerang on a CP shirt...
  9. Cagreatamerica.com? And I thought Visitkingsisland.com was bad! CedarPointer, who still uses pki.com.
  10. *Most* of them are really good. There's only a few who aren't.
  11. Did you see the crane over by Wicked Twister? Someone was up checking out something on the backwards spike...
  12. They need to either treat DB's water, or drain and refill it every few days. I'm sure there's some sort of standard for water that guests come in contact with (not pond water, etc.), and I'm sure DB's water doesn't meet it. I hate it when the seat assigners won't let me sit in a particular seat. Occasionally, I'll wait in DB's standby line simply so I can choose my row. Being snapped at by the grouper simply reminds me not to spend money at the park, and before I leave for KI, ponder... "where else?" CedarPointer, who is proud to have only bought one thing at the park this year, a cone of blue ice cream.
  13. I'm surprised how fast this thread grew! I saw some real shockers at CP on Sunday... "5 Dollar Footlong" (and it was NOT talking about a sub. And the footlong subs at CP are $13 anyway...), and others...
  14. 1. Landscaping. It looks really nice. I was quite impressed, since both of my former home parks were Six Flags. 2. ERT. The Beast is usually EMPTY during ERT. <3 3. Employees. For the most part, most of the ride operators are really good. 4. Diamondback! Hey, we finally got a B&M! 5. Eiffel Tower. I certainly like the observation tower concept much better than, say, Space Spiral at CP. 6. Music. I actually enjoy the music played in the park quite a bit. 7. The new QTV's. I hope we get more of the Pantel displays that are in Diamondback's queue.
  15. Let's see, the splashdown water... -has stuff growing in it. -is dirty. -smells like vomit. -has been spit into (or worse) by many patrons, at this point. I don't want to be splashed on by it either. Q: According to Kings Island, which of the following is NOT a competitive event? a. Basketball b. Football c. Line Jumping d. Filling trains on Firehawk If you answered D, you're correct!
  16. No! There is another festivity! There's a flag in The Beast's first turn out of the station. That's festive, right?
  17. Yes, the lights in there are still on. Today, the "stage lights" (think FOF's queue room) were on in the Repair Bay briefly. Then they made an announcment about "inappropriate behavior", and turned them back off.
  18. Then why is there reentry during regular season? What's different about Halloween Haunt?
  19. If this ever happens to me, Guest Relations WILL be getting a visit. It's ridiculous that they buy the cheapest ink possible, and then they aren't lenient about - reentry. Sorry, ya'all- you can pick one or the other, but NOT both. Why have it on there if there's no event called FearFest?
  20. I saw that person too. Being talked to by security, thankfully.
  21. I saw some really obviously inappropriate shirts at CP. Is it really that hard for the admissions people to turn them away? I've seen them do that before.
  22. I mean the work lights. The first time I rode the "new" version, all the work lights in the attraction were on. Yesterday, just one of the work lights in the Repair Bay was on, and a few were on in the stairway. Most of the ride was dark, except the main "theming" room with the helix. I'll see today if the lights are on in there. Yes, it's an exterior door. Apparently it was supposed to be open. I'm guessing someone got away with not closing their restraint? If you're referring to the red and blue chaser lights, those are still on.
  23. They don't consider KI to be a theme park. They refer to Snoopy's Big Bow-Wow at CP as "the midwest's ONLY theme park ice skating show!" I didn't even know CP was considered to be one...
  24. I wish I was there that day... TTD hasn't been open at all today (closed around 4pm yesterday), and WildCat is down too.
  25. Have you been injured by the ride? No? Then you have NO room to talk. Rode once last year. One year later, my back and neck STILL hurt, even though I've been to the chiropractor multiple times. Similar incidents have been reported by other riders.
