  1. I'm not sure why they couldn't ever reopen Side B, the ride system is still being made (SimEx Iwerks TurboRide), so replacement parts shouldn't be incredibly hard to find. It's kind of sad that what was once a major attraction has now been reduced to a pseudo-kiddie ride.
  2. I just want to know how most of the SimEx Iwerks movies got leaked onto the internet...
  3. I'd just like to see them work with SimEX iWerks for a 4D movie with coasters from other CF parks. I'd even rather see this than the current movie: The video that they were showing was really poor quality. It was worse than the Youtube version of SB3D! (although, AT has gotten me used to hearing "Are you ready are you ready kids?")
  4. I got to the park around 12:30. Rode DB once, the line was only like 20min long. Since I was already in the area, I decided to finally get that last credit and ride Reptar. Line jumper alert! Even the little ones are doing it these days. Yes, I got line jumped by small children. After getting that Hang'n'Bang Jr credit (and getting the ride e-stopped, as apparently "KEEP FEET DOWN!!" means "KEEP FEET UP!!" on the lift hill), I went over to Adventure Express. Rode it twice, then went to Racer, then Vortex. Rode both of them once, then went to Action Theater. Wait, what? Yes, that's right- it's Spongebob Squarepants 2D! And, to make it funnier, the lights weren't working correctly (instead of fading out, they all just went out at the same time) and the motion was very out of sync! Oh joy! Action Theater has AC though, so I rode it twice. Rode Shake Rattle and Roll once, then the Dodgems. I went over to BLSC. They finally got around to removing that GOLD PASS SPEED LANE sign. I ran into two other KICers in line- I'm sure they were wondering why I was taking pictures of the sign, LOL. Is it just me, or does it seem like BLSC was designed in RCT? Just from the transitions, I mean. I find it fun, though. Next was The Crypt marathon! NO LINE. AT ALL. It wasn't even filling cycles. I rode it five or six times, I think. I noticed that the work lights in the queue are on, but the theming actually is pretty good until you get to the ride chamber. After that, I rode SDatHC twice, then FOC. Then left.
  5. I got some good ones today. In line for Reptar: Guest: "Where's the other ride like this?" Me: "Do you mean Flight Deck or Firehawk?" Guest: "Whaaaaaaat?" In Action Theater exit area (Spongebob was running in 2D today) Guest: "Well, they're just getting lazy. First, they don't run both sides of The Raceway. Now, they won't show Spongepants in 3D! I hate Six Flags!" During Flashback Totally 80's, when Thriller starts playing: Small child: "But he's dead!"
  6. That is the best commercial ever.
  7. I once heard someone in front of the big Kings Island sign by the fountains ask where the Eiffel Tower was. She was completely serious.
  8. I've seen the switchbacks open and only Red running.
  9. Because it's not "exciting" enough. Same reason the real Beast logo isn't used.
  10. Still, I find it suspicious that it was on sale, then it fell apart. Did KI know that it was a bad batch? Now THAT would be bad guest relations...
  11. For one, the whole sky at the top of the logo was originally blue and pink. Also, the Flight Deck lettering *should* be solid blue, not part gray. As I said, the picture doesn't do it justice. It should look more like logo used for FD on the RWN site.
  12. That's a design that's used at lots of parks, including Cedar Point and Kennywood. However, my CP one is "Fearsome Five" so...
  13. Are you referring to the small souvenir cup? I think those are old.
  14. So did mine. However, my FD one looks like this: (note: the picture does NOT do this justice. It looks far, far worse in real life)
  15. Having SoB immediately disqualifies KI.
  16. Doesn't Six Flags have a CN kids area? Edit: http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/food/...oonNetwork.aspx
  17. I say just slap a generic theme on NU- I like the Ride Warriors Lab idea that someone brought up a while ago. Bring Back Beastie, repaint Avatar to red and yellow- Diamondback Jr! Runaway Reptar could be Little Flight Deck. Timmy's Air Tours could be Crypt Jr! The Zamperla flying thing (can't remember name) could be Firehawk Jr.
  18. When I do sit on the handrails (which is VERY rare), I sit on the second, lower rung. At Cedar Point, that's their suggested alternative to sitting on top. The only time I've done this in recent memory is on DB opening day, after being in line for two hours and finally getting to DB's queue.
  19. "Attention guests waiting in line to ride- please do not sit, stand, swing, or tap dance on the silver handrails..."
  20. Twister II at (at the time) Six Flags Elitch Gardens. It was the most poorly maintained coaster I have EVER been on. I saw it all: cracked boards, trains making disturbing noises, and track making some interesting cracking noises, too!
  21. I'll stick with my platinum pass, kthx. Please, please tell me that $199 includes park admission.
  22. I've worn my FREE DB shirt many, many times. I've also worn my $5 Kings Island 2008 ($5 with $20 purchase) shirt many times. Neither are as in bad condition as my $5 FD shirt. I would almost bet money that they knew that those shirts were very poor quality. It's not just the design that came off- the thing is coming to shreds!
  23. Well, considering that it was, at one point, a $17.50 shirt, I don't think that applies.
  24. Most of the time, I go to KI by myself. They still ask me! At least KI has a decent photo spot, unlike Worlds of Fun, where they took your picture against a wooden fence on the path to the entrance.
