  1. Kids Dinos. Yesterday's link was to a kiddie site as well. Sounds like they are getting Barney. Barney Blows. Works for both clues
  2. http://www.mondialrides.com/general_information.html Mondial's website
  3. http://www.sanduskyregister.com/sandusky/2010/aug/17/blog-new-cedar-point-ride-dutch-treat Looking more and more like a wind seeker to me. I hate that I am starting to get caught up in this again.
  4. http://www.parkworld-online.com/news/fullstory.php/aid/1596/Mondial_unveils_Wind_Seeker.html This was posted at Screamscape. It is called a wind seeker which does not contain the word "star". This ride was designed for higher wind conditions which would make since at CP. Looks like it could be a fun ride and has high capacity.
  5. I thought it said August 24th. That is just 1 week from today not 11 days.
  6. Full Link: http://www.uen.org/L...w.cgi?LPid=2181 DBfan, once again thinking way to far. And I like how below the hints they have 2 links leading to buy tickets and sign up for the newsletter. This still can go back to "Airtime". I can wait a week to find out they are going to do for 2011.
  7. Will probably be going to Vegas in January. Last year I never ventured out of the convention center. This year, I plan on picking up a few credits even if they include some painful ones.
  8. IMO there are already to many basketballs at US amusement parks. It wouldn't take much for someone to be thrown a ball from the queue for some idiot to try this at any park. I feel that if they are going to give out BB as game prizes they should be under inflated so they won't bounce.
  9. Yes, parking was $3. Yea, I did notice that not only was the last row blocked off, but the seats were removed. 3-1 was also closed of for some reason. I had the design of the station. If your not at the front of the queue you can't pick your seat since a train load enters all at once. While walking though the park I kept thinking about another small park that is close to the Ohio River a few states west of Camden and the choices that they made to turn a small park into a million + attendance jewel that we know as Holiday World.
  10. We left Powell just after work and headed south to Camden Park for their Starlight admission. After a 3 hour drive though some major storms we arrived to the park just after 7:00 pm. Since this was a night trip, we didn't bring the camera so sorry, no pics. We first went and rode Lil Dipper which was a fun kiddie coaster with cool NAD Century Flyer trains. Next up was their new ride Rockin-tug. This had a fairly short cycle and since it stopped 1/2 way through to change directions never seemed to get up to speed. We then proceeded over to the Tilt-A-Whirl. These were pretty decent with a good amount of spinning. We walked past the flume which looked decent, but had a full queue so we skipped it. As we crossed over the railroad tracks (train was down) we got on one of the 2 highlights of the trip. The Whip. This one seemed quite small compared to others we have ridden but what it lacked in size, it delivered in intensity. Best whip I have ridden. Next up were the eagles. The queue was pretty full so we doubled up and took them for a spin. They were fast and we got the tubs quite high, but they would not snap for all of our trying. We then proceeded to the Haunted House next. This was the other highlight of the trip. It is a smooth fast and fun dark ride that seems more like a coaster to me then a flat ride. After you load in to the car, the op pushes you for a few feet till you start rolling toward the lift chain. After you get to the top you go around a 180° turn before the drop. After you go back up, you go through some doors and into a mouse type course with some cheesy theming till you exit though another set of doors where a second op jumps in front of your car an manually stops it. After the lift, the entire ride is only powered by gravity. While this ride does not have typical track, it has track boards and a guide in the center. It rolls, it coasts and is only powered by gravity. To me this = Roller Coaster. After this we headed across the midway to Big Dipper. The queue in the station was about 1/2 full but was only a 4 train wait. Again this coaster had the 50's style trains with chrome trim and headlights. While the ride did have a few pops of air, it was just OK. After we exited we did a spin on the Bullseye which featured the look of a red & black dart board. After we got off we could see some heat lightning flashing. We got a zen ride on the Paratrooper and then rode the Carousel. It was starting to sprinkle and looked as though a storm was blowing in. We took another lap on the Haunted Mouse before getting some Pronto Pups and a soda. As we were eating I noticed some park managers discussing closing the park early. I pulled out my phone to check the weather and saw that we were just about to be hit by a severe storm with lots of red and yellow. So we quickly got back to the car. Just as we left the parking lot the deluge hit with near zero viability and deep water on the roads all the way till we were out of town. While we did have a lot of fun, I do have to say that we were not impressed with this park. It was filthy dirty with tons of trash on the ground. The rides even seemed to dirty. The employees seemed like zombies and did their jobs in slow motion trying not to even make eye contact. Most of them looked like they had been wearing the same dirty shirts for the last several days. I also noticed several ops smoking while the rides were cycling. I didn't pay attention to what Camden's smoking policy was, but I found this a bit surprising compared to the other parks we have been to. Did we have fun: Yes Would I go back again: No
  11. We made our first visit to Camden on Saturday Night. Sorry folks, I was not impressed. The park was dirty and the employees didn't seem to care about anything including themselves. The two highlights were the Whip and the Haunted House. The whip actually whipped you around the course and had some force. The haunted house is a great dark ride that IMO is a coaster. It has a lift chain and is gravity powered. The breaks on this ride are literally a guy standing in front of the ride car wearing out the soles of his sneakers.
  12. I love Disney too. The memories that you will have of this trip will be with you for the rest of your life. Cherish them.
  13. You can vote for 10 different things per day. If you look at some of the stuff that has one you have to wonder. Last month a wrestling team got $250k for a new weight room while Give Kids the World ended up in around 15th place.
  14. Well it is better then some of the things that I have seen get funded. At least this is actually "refreshing" something.

  16. http://www.givekidstheworld.org/news/august2010/august_enewsletter_print.pdf This is the GKTW August newsletter that mentions the event.
  17. We won't be missing Hellcat.
  18. I am getting so excited for next month trip to the Dells & Valley Fair. We are going labor day weekend with Saturday in MN and Sunday-Monday at Mt Olympus. I am expecting huge crowds, but am hoping that they will at least be manageable.
  19. Tom I as just at KD for 2 days this week and Rode I305 no difference on the Trims on the first Drop. It picks the speed right back up and it rides just like it did when we went opening day. BTW Stayed on Dominator 10 times with out gettign off on Monday the park was dead the last hour it was open LOL. Oh i rode Shockwave for you to. One word - JEALOUS! You rode my two favorite steel coasters AND rode a TOGO stand-up that was closed on KD Opening Day that I couldn't wait to ride. Just wondering, do they trim Hurler at the bottom of its first drop? I remember the one at Carowinds having that trim off. Tom, I will let you know next week as we are going to KD for a coaster event.
  20. Has anyone ever ridden a star flyer? How do you know this will or won't be thrilling? We rode a Zamperla Vertical Swing last month. While is only goes up 100 ft, it was a fun but not overly thrilling ride. I think a Star Flyer would be great as part of a make over of that part of the park. I still think that CP needs a good twister wood coaster.
  21. I would love to see a B&M invert hyper coaster. Alpengeist at BGW is just 5' short of being a hyper so it is with in the realm of reality.
  22. Like Gary, I will grab both handrails and not let them pass. I have gotten several people removed from the train. Once at Carowinds I got a kid removed from the ride. When I got off, he and his mom were having a talk with security.
  23. It doesn't say that it is 2011. It could be a new haunt.
  24. I would rank Afterburn higher if it wasn't for the one stretch while you head over the station that feels like it is missing an element. At about 1:20 is the area that I am talking about.
  25. Good enough. It must be the difference in our weight or size. As I stated, I got a few pops of gentle air. Nothing like I got on Cyclone at SFNE in the back row, that ride had the strongest air I have ever experienced on a woodie including El Toro and Voyage.
