  1. They did add a menu. Ill be checking out the new pretzel shop on opening day.
  2. From the 5@5...
  3. You could ask about this in the 5@5. Or is this the entrance for the Launch pad?
  4. Could be a new smoking section...
  5. I like the new website. The new park map looks empty with Son of Beast. Looks like they also forgot to add Slingshot to the ride section.
  6. I believe this link was posted in another topic.

    Your View?

I think Diamondback started being designed when Paramount owned the park. I remember hearing something that was in the newspaper when Paramount owned the park saying something big was coming to Kings Island. I think this was mentioned when Diamondback was announced at the media day. Someone correct me if I'm wrong that the lake was being drained in 05' or 06'?
  8. Simply saying 'ooh' and 'ahh' at the number of kw needed to provide BLSC with power is not a good basis for a statement such as 'Could solar sytems be used for powering rides? No ' Yes, it sounds like a lot of power, but solar panels are quite capable of producing it. Those were examples I was using. There is no way to run a whole park off of solar panels. I'm sure rides like The Beast, Diamondback, Flight of Fear, The Racers, Firehawk, and maybe even the fountains use a lot more power then the rides I listed. Like CoastersRZ posted... Switching to Solar is not the best option. I Don't know where Kings Island can put a acre of Solar panels in. Beyond from center of the park all it is hills and valley's.
  9. Don't they also have a ride just like the Flying Eagles at Strickers grove?
  10. Do you know how much power it takes to run rides. I did some research and here are some examples. Delrium(giant frisbee)- 470kw The crypt(giant top spin)- approx 500kw HUSS rides Back lot stunt coaster(LIM Terrain Following Coaster) 3,700kw but I'm not so sure on this one. Premier rides Could solar sytems be used for powering rides? No
  11. Exiting the hammerhead turn around.
  12. It has been testing for the last couple of days.
  13. I just got back from renewing my pass. That faster then I thought! I also saw Diamondback testing and saw a train stuck on MCBR. I also saw Vortex testing. It gave me strong urges to ride again.
  14. I have a question about processing. I'm going later today to get my pass and I was wondering do you have to have the papers printed out to get your pass processed or can you just do everything to get your pass at the park?
  15. Edit: I know it's not soo great, but I know I'm excited. Do you think It'll be on the website? It will probably come out with the new website. I think they mentioned on the 5@5 that they will have it out before April 17th.
  16. Park in the back you can clearly see the lines
  17. I'm really sure they still leave them on. I remember one night I was up at around 3 am last year and they were on.
  18. I checked the webcam late last night and I saw there was water in the splashdown but it wasn't as filled as it is now.
  19. Yes you are correct. Early ride times for Diamondback and Beast are an hour early starting April 17. Awesome, thanks! Also, are there picnic areas outside of the park like at CP? I love just dropping a cooler full of lunch off and not having to worry about it until lunch time. Saves serious cash too The parking lot in your car. I see that a lot. I have also seen people set up tables and eat in the grass a long the trail to Timber wolf lodge.
  20. Looks like only one train is testing today(I also saw a person walking up the ramp and a golf kart driving through). Hopefully they keep that scummy splashdown clean this year!
  21. Tickets? Yeah. Adults are $15, children are $11 and under 2 are free. I've never been but I've seen it on the news.
  22. Yes http://www.newportducks.com/
  23. Now I have to race even more people to get the first Beast train of the year
  24. Opening day really wasn't crowded last year I think. Besides Diamondback I walked onto some rides like Flight deck, Adventure Express, Racers, and even Vortex and they weren't all in the morning. Other then that I would say I waited 45 minutes for a night ride on Firehawk and ten minutes for The Beast.
