  1. I wasn't necessarily flipping out....it was just a simple question of how much face time the ops would get on the ride. For DB it was between 5-6 hours last season for training.
  2. Training is typically on going. When I trained at DB I was there for about 5-6 hours being trained to do everything but drive the coaster.
  3. Well worth the read! I found it interesting that Screamscape was interviewed for the story.
  4. Maintenance I'm sure already know how to operate the ride....with them testing for rotation and what not. I'm sure they've already worked with the restraints and any of the controls in the drive box. I'm guessing that opening day operations will be ran by Area Supervisors, Managers, etc. while training seasonal ops. It'll be a smooth transition I bet.
  5. I guess the only thing I'm worrying about is how much face time the ride ops will have to learn all of the operation protocol.
  6. I am not worrying about it opening on time. They have people around the clock working on this to ensure that it opens on time. My guess is by the end of the day today they will have the remaining arms and seats up and start testing Monday. If not today (for the arms) they'll have them up on Monday and test starting Tuesday and will continue to test until the State comes in and approves.
  7. Okay, I get it now! Thanks for the clarification.... ps....you did better at drawing than I did.
  8. Find it interesting that CP's WindSeeker already has the queue line up. What do you mean CedarPointer by a skylight..I'm not sure what exactly you mean...please help me understand
  9. Saw that too! Wonder what's on the agenda for tonight. I've been waiting to hear when the seats would be attached.
  10. Terpy I have to disagree with you here, I upgraded from my KI Gold Pass to a Carowinds Platinum Pass on opening weekend. But you are correct, calling the park is a good idea. When I called Carowinds prior to my trip they said I could upgrade, however they wouldn't send it to me in writing. (It's a good idea to get it in writing if they say you can) So I then emailed the Carowinds via their website "Contact Us" and got an answer/statement by the next day saying that I could upgrade to Platinum from a Kings Island Gold Pass.
  11. I thought I noticed that but thought it was my eyes playing a trick on me! Thanks for making me realize I wasn't crazy Haha
  12. That's what I ended up guessing too! There seems to be more and more people coming to work on the ride tonight.
  13. Looks like some evening work is being done..not sure what though!
  14. Anyone else notice on the main park map page, that they still have the old bungee pay for attraction?
  15. I don't mind the map at all. I think it looks nice. Yeah it kind of stinks that there are no trees, but we got to think of this as when GP looks at the maps (who have never been to the park before) will just want to see the relation of a ride, say Diamondback to Flying Ace Ariel Chase. I don't really see a big stink coming from the GP that there aren't any trees on the map. Terpy I am with you, the fact that their isn't a loop on Invertigo is an error. I do wonder as well why The Racer trains are brown. I think that Vortex's track is orange on the map because the rails got painted in 2009. There's a picture floating around here somewhere of Vortex where the rails are glowing orange...so that's my idea as to why it's orange on the map. Has anyone else noticed that aside from it saying what the building is, the map does not show what Action Theater is playing? I'm assuming what it will be...but just found that interesting.
  16. It was down most of the day due to winds. But when it was open, it was a lot of fun!
  17. Check out the picture they just tweeted..... www.twitter.com/kingsislandpr Edit-- apparently the picture went away...so I re-linked it.
  18. From what Don Helbig, told me in an email interview for my blog was that the Flight Commander area was not even considered to place WindSeeker on. The site for WindSeeker was also picked due to balance the skyline.
  19. I never knew that! I wasn't sure how the queue worked. Great post!
  20. Just getting back to the news of this. It is sad news. I hope Mr. Hart can get the city to allow him to open the park in 2013.
  21. Haha Standbyme. I vaguely remember them. I'm loving the recent pictures Paul! Good job!
  22. Carowinds was playing Spongebob in 3D as well.
  23. Topic Bump...any news about this park? Has it been leveled? Is there anything still standing. From what I saw on google maps satellite it doesn't look like it, but not sure how long ago that picture was taken.
