Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
shark6495 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I was listening to the Disney Dish and they spoke about tariffs impacting Disney. Basically they said it could delay or stop a ton of future plans if things have not already been purchased. -company gives park a price -tariffs hit -company states the old price is off -company asks suppliers for all new prices -company gets new cost and sends it to park -park approves then tariffs change again basically they said everytime a tariff changes that process has to change as well. -
Looney Tunes Planet Snoopy Retheme Concept

I have to hard disagree with anyone saying Peanuts is more popular than Looney Tunes. I think around here we see so much Peanuts stuff that it is a little bit of a confirmation bias. -
if it’s cheap and it’s dirty people will feel even less likely to take care of it. It’s a self fulfilling cycle.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion

I’m split on this. The KI haunts and mazes were great for the kids because they were not the scariest and because of the large crowd the kids saw the scares coming. if they don’t upgrade the way they do it, it’s going to be a hard pass for me on paying to walk through a cattle call maze. -
In a previous life I did some Tv programming for a few college stations and a few digital sub stations. It’s not as difficult as it sounds to do. The initial upfront could be but you could do it in a way that creates a fairly easy multi-hour loop.

Siren’s Curse is going to be Problematic

True but 10-15 years ago it was all hearsay rumors and fan sites now with social media, you almost have to be perfect at launch or else it spreads quickly. until recently I never understood why official grand openings at Disney and Universal happen after months of soft openings and previews. Now I get it. It’s not a failure if the ride is still in beta testing phase. -
Thank you. The other day walking at the park I was thinking there used to be a Skee Ball arcade building and thought maybe I just really lost my memory. Wasn’t there also a metal turning game where you had to move a metal circle on or off of it? any who here’s a link to a 2017 forum post about it:

Staffing beside the point, but I’d love more roaming photographers. We have he fun pix and it would be nice to have the opportunity of other places besides in front of the tower. but that being said, I’ll take more ride opps, cleaning crew, and food service first
-
Have I hit the age where I remember that being an arcade? To me it was always the other arcade (unless my mind is failing me too)

Maybe I’m flying too close to the sun, but not loving the vibe this year with all the little things it feels like it’s building up.

^^ thanks for the reminder…; Swung by the park on my lunch break and had a great Steak Burrito Bowl and the lady working at the VIP area was wonderful!

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge

The Disney Dish had a great discussion on Tariff impact on a ride. This was from a few months back. But basically park and manufacturer negotiate a price. The threat of a tariff happens. The park says what’s changing. The manufacturer has to go to their suppliers to find their new price(and do the suppliers have to check their prices etc), then they set their price. They send it to the park then board votes. But if the tariffs change again, then the process can start over. -
let me rephrase how I said that. I don’t care about the theft because KI doesn’t care. The self serve pop stands were installed to save money. They do that to offer the image of choice but ultimately it’s less people needed to fill drinks. So again to stop the theft they limit the options. They could hire someone (as stated it’s obviously cheaper to let theft happen than stop it) but the chain appears to be suffering from issues across the country. Times are tough or money is hard or kids will be kids. Theft has always happened. It’s how do you prevent it and KI appears to have chosen the least costly way (and most inconvenient for the rest of us)
-
Honestly, I couldn’t care less if someone steals a pop or pizza. What it tells me is that the park is not hiring enough people to stop it. Yes we shouldn’t have folks stealing/etc, but if the park can’t handle the ability then it’s on them. Instead they are punishing the rest. If you can’t stop folks from stealing then you are doing something wrong.

There is a lot that can be said about the overall feel of the park and even my oldest noticed last night saying something along the lines of he wishes we didn’t go to Disney all the time because he notices the things KI doesn’t do like Disney but on a more positive holy smokes The Beast is great. I don’t remember a time the ride felt this good. Last night we had a back train ride and yes it was rougher than the front but it was enjoyable. Never felt like it did a few years back.

Kings Island 2025 Food Reviews and Discussion

I can’t get mad at the hourly employees for being super terrible or unknowingly bad. I blame management. They make enough money to know better. -
Less said and more done. Some kid just peed on the bushes while we are in line at Mystic Timbers.

Kings Island 2025 Food Reviews and Discussion

^^ Which I get. It makes sense. The issue is when little things creep in and then they do this it feels bad all over. “our chef will randomly select days for a special meal. But do not worry all of our other food stands have delicious food, well stocked supplies, water cups, and more. Make it a #KIDAY” -
Hahaha fair. I assumed it was just locked. It never occurred to me that the menu just wouldn’t exist for someone in the park. (In fairness, when I’m there I just eat what’s close or what someone in here recommends)
-
Menus (both what’s being offered and prices).
-
I can check everything about Disney from my work station and plan my next trip there. Why is the KI app geo locked?
-
Didn’t know where else to post this, but I emailed the park a little perturbed that we can’t get a water cup in the same line we get our food. got to love the response of just reiterating the policy. “Guests are welcome to bring a water bottle into the park to stay hydrated during their visit. Water bottles can be refilled at a variety of self-service water bottle refill locations throughout the park. Most locations are near select Coca-Cola refill stands and select restrooms. Additionally, guests are able to request a small water cup from select quick service locations. Any self-service fountain drink location does not have water cups available. Please ask a Food and Beverage associate during your visit for the nearest location that has water cups available.”

Kings Island 2025 Food Reviews and Discussion

Swung through today for a quick ride and lunch (love working close). Did Grain and Grill did the shrimp, garlic potatoes, and roll. Shrimp was fine, garlic potatoes were a hit. I think I’m done with the shrimp at G&G just not the best lately. -
I don’t love the extreme style show (it’s fun) but my kids absolutely love it and have been asking when this opens. Is it the same group that did the one at haunt?
