Kings Island 2025 Food Reviews and Discussion
shark6495 replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
I can’t get mad at the hourly employees for being super terrible or unknowingly bad. I blame management. They make enough money to know better. -
Less said and more done. Some kid just peed on the bushes while we are in line at Mystic Timbers.

Kings Island 2025 Food Reviews and Discussion

^^ Which I get. It makes sense. The issue is when little things creep in and then they do this it feels bad all over. “our chef will randomly select days for a special meal. But do not worry all of our other food stands have delicious food, well stocked supplies, water cups, and more. Make it a #KIDAY” -
Hahaha fair. I assumed it was just locked. It never occurred to me that the menu just wouldn’t exist for someone in the park. (In fairness, when I’m there I just eat what’s close or what someone in here recommends)
-
Menus (both what’s being offered and prices).

I can check everything about Disney from my work station and plan my next trip there. Why is the KI app geo locked?
-
Didn’t know where else to post this, but I emailed the park a little perturbed that we can’t get a water cup in the same line we get our food. got to love the response of just reiterating the policy. “Guests are welcome to bring a water bottle into the park to stay hydrated during their visit. Water bottles can be refilled at a variety of self-service water bottle refill locations throughout the park. Most locations are near select Coca-Cola refill stands and select restrooms. Additionally, guests are able to request a small water cup from select quick service locations. Any self-service fountain drink location does not have water cups available. Please ask a Food and Beverage associate during your visit for the nearest location that has water cups available.”

Swung through today for a quick ride and lunch (love working close). Did Grain and Grill did the shrimp, garlic potatoes, and roll. Shrimp was fine, garlic potatoes were a hit. I think I’m done with the shrimp at G&G just not the best lately. -
I don’t love the extreme style show (it’s fun) but my kids absolutely love it and have been asking when this opens. Is it the same group that did the one at haunt?
-
Uhhh this was pure happiness lol the cookie dough was good. No idea what about this screams beast but it was delicious haha

We took a few years off in the shark house and picked up a pass last year for Halloween and finally made it to the park 2 times this past week (once with each baby shark. Who are now preenager shark and elementary shark). Positives: Whoa boy, The Beast is running better than I can remember in my almost 40 years of riding it. Almost all ride crews have been awesome, fun, quick, safe, entertaining. Crowds Entertainment - love the themed music in each land, loved hearing live music outside of tower gardens. It was great New Beast Feast at Graeters! FunPix Folks: The dude working Beast on Saturday night was great Negatives: Whoa food service. Grain and grill food was lukewarm, LaRosas was warm Whoa Food Service Drinks. Look some of us, we are going with families. It would be nice to get a water cup when I pick up my LaRosas pizza. We just want to eat, not hunt down illusive water cups for our kids who don’t drink pop Mystic Timbers crew: Could be a one time thing but my oldest had not even got the seat belt clicked when they walked by and tested his safety bar. No one checked the seat belt. My age: when did coasters start affecting me? I’m not 40 yet (few months away) but man oh man, I need more recovery times hahaha Overall some rear early interactions and hoping things continue to get better. Also to those who did CoasterStock on Saturday, a huge big thank you to those of you around us in Beast who helped motivate a very cautious preenager shark and then motivated him to ride front row at night right after fireworks.

Where would you put a laser tag arena in Kings Island?

Down the street maybe near Kroger… here’s the negative with it being at KI: if it’s a pay for play thing, it will cost more than its worth and it will break down quickly and be subpar. If it’s free then it will be very bad with no upkeep. -
0….. something about being high up means i will probably never ride this one. Glad so many of you enjoy it
-
My all time favorite is for sure Beast. But a few (maybe more than a few now) years back it was a total accident but my last ride on Vortex was during the fireworks. To hit the first drop as the first fireworks hit and then going through the loops… it was super special. This happened probably 3-4 seasons before they announced they were removing the ride but I don’t think I ever rode it after that.

I think i could live with Coney being downgraded significantly….. But it’s the removal of sunlight pool. It really strikes me as final final….

So over the weekend we did Boo Blasters during Winterfest….. the lights were on… and oof. I know it’s been on a down hill slide for a while, but with the lights on, you can really see how sparse it really is.
-
My boys and I went last night (I can’t believe I’ve been on this site long enough to go from solo trips to trips with a pre-teen). It was just a great little stroll through the lights. Trying to stay positive but Boo Blasters is really showing its age. But the Grain and Grill has some great foods this year. Glad we got our passes back and ready for the next year.

Yeah for sure. Owned by the same folks who own western bowl in Cincinnati. They were originally told that in January 2025 they could extended for 2 more years and now are being told it’s done in January of 2025. The Bowling alley is just outside the perimeter of KK
-
Figured this was the spot for it. The Kentucky Fair Board is closing the bowling alley on property. I haven’t noticed it at KI (also wasn’t really looking) but just got back from Disney and every manager/corporate person in the park had a garbage picket/grabber. As they stoped to talk to guests or employees they would just pick up stray garbage. Could be a lack of direction from management
-
I don’t know where else to post this so it goes here. watching a documentary about The Beast they talk about the original speed (before it opens to the public), but never mentions the original speed. Has that ever been announced anywhere? also the doc featured our own Don. Don if you read this, when did you start counting your racer rides?

So i used to work in local TV (not here but in this state and New York) for few different NBC stations. So in a nutshell, you as a reporter might put together a story (think video and script) and if you think its newsworthy for other parts of the country, then you can upload it to one of two different national services. 1 being the NBC site (CBS and ABC have similar, not sure on fox) where any other station that pays to be an NBC affiliate could use it. The other one is your tv group in which your station is owned. So when I lived in Elmira NY my tv Station was owned by Newport News (who owned Local 12). So if you upload to that then any station that’s owned by the same group can use the story (no matter if they are ABC or NBC). This is why so many smaller stations can be clipped to show they have the same news story. what John runs is a tv package and they can be uploaded in the same way. In some special cases (not with the don’t waste your money) the individual reporter may own the rights and can sell it to as many different markets as they want to.

Kings Island 2024 Food Reviews and Discussion
shark6495 replied to SmartCat7162's topic in Kings Island
The food consistency is the one thing that gets stuck in my crawl every single time (probably because I grew up with a parent who ran restaurants). Many times with theme park jobs (IMO) is the pay is not high enough to bring people in who want to care about the food service jobs. They are hard and thankless job so often times people burn out.
