  1. Hey all. I didnt see this posted elsewhere http://www.wlwt.com/article/abandoned-amusement-park-renovation-will-mix-nostalgia-with-renewal/20688375
  2. Eh they are all Disney heads who work in media as comedy people... it’s an interesting series. I’m disappointed in the KI episode just because I know the park. The Hard Rock park and Disneyland episodes are legit. But to each their own Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. If you listen to the podcast and you are a Wikipedia editor... you may want to do some editing haha Double post due to time difference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hey all Feel free to move if needed mods. A podcast I listen to called Podcast: The Ride discusses our favorite park! https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/podcast-the-ride/id1296636702?mt=2&i=1000410019525 I like their other stuff as well but figured this would be great here... it has Dave Ferguson as a guest on this episode. NSFW FYI. It’s made with the help of some people on Team Tiger Awesome and Talk Is Jericho.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I want to apologize. When you first turned up I thought you were a sensationalist, and just trying to dig up stories for the internet fame. Having spent time in the news media, I find myself very defensive and protective of the job from people that I wrongly thought you were trying to be. This is a great and insightful article. Great interviews that were done with care for the victim. Well done and I learned a ton from it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sadly it sounds like you all did the best you could. It’s tough to walk the line between over involved and not involved, especially when it’s not your kid. Short of contacting the other students parents or school the most you can do is listen to the one and try to help them see themselves as a person with value. Unfortunately an adult couple with a one time convo will not fix it but may start her down the right path. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The service and quality overall is one of the reasons we killed our meal plan for this year. It got to the point where we just ate in the park because we “already paid for it”... not because it was good or great service or an event. I agree with the above. Over hire and over train. Yes you may get some of the ones turned down from other positions but that doesn’t excuse some of the issues food service has. The new chef may not be responsible for anything but he’s the face that runs the place. That means when it’s good or bad it’s on him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Disney is super popular. The way to control that in a capitalistic environment is to charge more for things people want. Sad to say but it’s the only thing that works. You need dinner reservations sure but how else do you balance for people who may only get to Disney one time in their life. Do they want to get there and find out they can’t eat at the one restaurant they want to do? It has a purpose. Same with the rides. I’ll be doing Disney the third time in the last 5 years this November and then again next June. For us the reservations does take stress out of our trips when we get down there. We don’t have to wait 4 hours for a ride we really want. So we can hit shops or food or shows. To each their own though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That’s agreed I love riding Bat. The trains seem to be all full or almost every time. The line doesn’t seem to fill up though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’d be happy with just a second train.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. A local park could maybe thrive around there. Here in Cincy we have one that’s small only a handful of rides. Many feel if Americans had an effort it could have survived. It’s all about knowing your audience and catering to that audience. If you don’t you fail. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. My guy was 4 last year. KI is nice but he’s a short 4 so we hit the same rides he has done for a few years. The kid area at KI is nice though. Just busy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I would have sworn I took my kid through there during the first year with my gold pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I think in 2018 it’s not too much to ask that once you move past the plaza the entire que is designed to build anticipation for the ride. From music to props etc. heck it’s a logging company. It wouldn’t be that difficult to build/design cover that looks like it belongs in a logging company.... Don’t go so far to theme the loading station and the shed but wimp out on the que... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I thought the discussion was about the que itself. Yes the plaza looks nice. But on Banshee once you get past the plaza it looks no different than the que for Firehawk. A large concrete slab with nothing. As for Mystic Timbers yes there was a truck and yes there were some some signs in the que line. But if we compare that to Flight of Fear or even The Beasts lines (at least when Beast opened it looked like a logging camp with the running water mill). I’m not talking about the ride itself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The fun tvs have a time and place. But realistically the theming in the park needs help all around. Banshee has no theming in the que. Mystic Timbers didn’t feel themed. It felt like it’s very sterile. Yes there’s some wink and nods here and there. Also we need some more darn trees and water features in the park. Too much black top and concrete retain all of that summer heat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. And years ago a well respected person on these boards had said that Ohio enforces that the rides ride the way the company intends them to. My memory is hazy from those days but it was said (or maybe just inferred) that the coaster company made a statement that they had to run forwards. But who knows any more. That poster is gone. 18. Never knew this was a thing. I just looked more into it. It could have been great. But it could also have been an utter disaster as Disney parks all depend solely on who was in charge at the time and well.. the 90s wasnt the greatest for the parks.
  19. That’s sort of unfair man. Someone has to be the main host. It’s been one episode. If you want to do one it’s not hard man. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Unsolicited offer of help: I run a podcast network of 3 different shows. If you need help or suggestions about equipment or how to record, or how to edit, or broadcast live on YouTube or set of a Roku channel etc, I can help ya out. Podcast.speechscience.org for proof^ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Look to the Wilds out near Muskingum County. You can ride in an open truck in Lion Country.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. There used to be a turnpike ride in that area. I want more trees and green space. Get some shade. Maybe some fountains. Help cool the air down a bit. No more smoking areas in the middle of walkways/paths. I get that smokers shouldn’t have to walk 100 miles but smack dab is terrible. Fix he parking lot. More things for grandma and grandpa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. And without getting too political the rise of the flag in preference was also around the same time of civil rights marches.... I think it’s just the sign of the times. Move on and let the past go, kill it if you must. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. That is correct.... I sort of hope that CF would purchase the land back both there and the current Lodge....
  25. Thanks for the mention about workers being staffed at different positions. I thought I was remembering it wrong. I recall an employee standing (maybe sitting) after the first helix before you go down into the preloop... it always was weird to see a person that close to the ride.
