  1. Also didn't think it was a big deal till reading on here and noticed the change which refreshed my memory Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Sorry it was something along the lines "after being refurbished or fixed". I was more caught off guard by her Pause between opening and later this summer. Sorry figured the refurb/fix line was unneeded. carry on! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Did the person making your sub stop making it to fill their drinks up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Can confirm that on Sunday the woman on mic duties said the same that "WWC will be opening.. Later this summer after blah blah blah" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. You need to come with me. I have been lucky (knock on wood) that the breadsticks this year have been hot from an oven. So they were just the right consistency of crisp outside and soft inside. As for the pizza, it's the standard LaRosa's large cut for 8 slices. Now if that's smaller than what was served I can't say but can say that's the regular in store size. :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Something about the parking today. The line from the tolls to the lot was backed up and I'm sure it's because of laziness and the inability to drive of the drivers. Everyone wants that close spot so they will fight tooth and nail for it. Here's my story. As I was driving north to the entrance I noticed the outside one in the park had no cars and the left lanes were completely full. Knowing this I merged right at the tolls and went to the farthest right toll booth. Handed over my pass and went in. From here it goes from 5 lanes to 3 lanes to 2 lanes relatively quickly. We all merge into the left lane and no one is in the right lane. After a few mins of inching forward (no one still in the right lane), I merge right and move I stopped from about 200feet pass the tolls all the way to aisle 35 which is about halfway between south exit and the drop off. I got some horns beeped at me for passing everyone (legally) but I got out of my car had my son in the stroller and was walking towards the park when I saw the car I had originally got behind try making it down the same aisle I was parked in. Moral of the story, that right lane doesn't end. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Thanks. Cool to know but sort of anticlimactic. Was hoping it stood for something KI history wise. But eh company name is good to
  8. You are right. I did a quick Google search http://gorillasdontblog.blogspot.com/2014/03/kings-island-ohio-august-1973.html?m=1 http://smg.photobucket.com/user/bananaphone5000/media/Gorillamydreams/KingsIsland_8-22-73-B.jpg.html Wowsers. Thanks upstop. Now something I thought of while we trudged along the little kid train tracks today. I know that area used to house a car ride. But on the Peanut Trains (used to be Quick Draw Trains) each train has 19LGB75. I assume 1975 was the year they were built or installed. But what does LGB stand for? 9. Today was a great day to be at the park. We left around 1 due to toddler shark fatigue. New family center is great. LaRosa's on International street was doing great bright before noon. Only problems were the guests. They had 1 cashier at each exit and everyone kept going to the same side. Kiddie land rides did well and the train was nice. Toddler shark even got to wave to don. Interesting tidbit I asked about the Eiffel Tower and how do they inspect it and know it's "safe" every year. The ride op said that during the off season the "cage" is removed and then put back on. Thought it was an interesting thing and also sort of frightening to think about wiring or walking up there without the cage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Just pink ones so it could be nothing or something Edit: Never mind could be for WWC Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Sitting in the station here are ton of survey markers.... Well maybe not a ton but more than I'm okay with it construction vehicles have to disturb the train (unless to make it longer). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Min wage goin up wouldn't help much. If all min wages rise, then you will see an eventual catch up in the price of goods as well which negates the rise in income. Now if they are were to pay say at $15/Hr then you would attract people not looking for min wage jobs, which would bring in older better workers for some positions... I'm not an economists just worked enough min wage jobs to know that if you pay more than min you usually get a better class of worker.
  13. I said "well that seems like a waste of money" and she said "of course sir" so not a way to sell the pass or anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Called the park to check about refunds and they said no way. They did acknowledge (Emma in customer service) that it's a waste of money and some lines take the same amount of time as leaving the park and returning. We only have one for my son and next year we won't be getting one since he will be bigger and can go longer between meals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I did give the park a call and asked about the possibility of the refund if service is so poor and they stated (as believed) there are no refunds. When I mentioned that the lines for food were the same amount of time as leaving the park and coming back to the park all she said was "I know sir". And when I said well it seems sort of like a waste of money then all she said was "of course sir." Again, I'm glad we only got one to get the meal for my son when he gets hungry at the park and we don't want to leave just yet but man oh man. When his belly gets bigger and he can wait longer between meals we won't be buying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Last year we had a friend who waited in a 90 minute line in Soak City. We have one meal plan and that's to just allow us to grab a quick bite during off times for our son. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. As Terp says why would the park care. You never see the park comment on threads like this. They have your money. I will give the park one more weekend to fix things before I start complaining non stop to them and make a don't waste your money phone call to WCPO.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. My brother in law is also a DVC member. He would buy the max days (usually 14) and would use them over a 2-3 year period. Not any more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Not an expert but have driven for almost 16 years at this point. The road outside of the park is the responsibility of the municipality. But the reason the toll road goes from 4 to 12 is to alleviate back up leading out to the road. If each interaction takes 10 seconds, with 4 tolls they are only gettin 4 cars in vs 12. The reason it goes back to 3 is to allow the cars to filter off down each aisle. You see this on many high ways where you will have 2-3 lanes open to 10-15 tolls and then back to two to 3 lanes. It's pretty common. Agreed on the signage.
  20. Stashua, what do you mean by design the tolls better? And the south exit and this lady not looking at what lane she was in till it was too late are too different issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I think everyone needs a moment to just chill and relax. Look if you live in the tri-park area (HW, KK, and KI) you are lucky to have a large regional, a large local, and whatever KK becomes park within easy driving distance. Pointing out statements such as: A lot of people in Ohio have forgotten or don't know about KK or HW is not a slam on those two parks. It's a referral to the lack of advertising to this area. KK or HW gets a new awesome ride. That's not a slam on KI. Maybe KI plan is in response to KK. Maybe it's not. Maybe KI wants to attract more KK and HW goers. KK and HW are not actively marketing in this area (Cincy) so they are not going for KI customers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. True but I did have to hand over my ID, answer many questions, and then wait for a higher up to clear me. It was my mistake and I had to do what they wanted me to do, luckily I didn't have to leave my car. Will policy change after this? Maybe, probably. (I personally have little to no sympathy to distracted drivers or drivers not paying attention to their environments. This is how more serious things happen. Luckily the outcome of her mistake was 30 minutes out of her day and not a totaled vehicle or loss of life.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Separate post to keep objective data (pictures) away from opinion. I get that the road has construction on it but the first sign about right turn only (from the WCPO video) is near the exit of the drop off area. That is plenty of time for you to merge over. The park gave her a refund for the $18. It's not like there was no markings warning of the right turn only. The park didn't keep her money. Should a turnaround be put in? Maybe that would help but ultimately it was her mistake (I don't want to sound callous but the lady seems upset because of her mistake.). A few years back, I made a wrong turn and found myself in an entrance line for a military base. There was no turn around a before I got to the gate. Because I had no military ID we were questioned and then allowed to enter to turn back around (with all military eyes on us just in case). It was my mistake for not reading the signs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. From the video I grabbed a view stills so we can all see what's going on By the sign it's only the far right lane open At the end of the old drop off area, the new lane and the old right lane are open while the left lane is blocked Lastly coming to the light you can see the ones open up And driving to the entrance are 3 signs stating right turn only. (From the linked video).
  25. Soooo it's the parks fault that drivers weren't paying attention? Maybe they need a turnaround I haven't seen the other turnaround that was mentioned earlier but I'll check soon. But people make mistakes and sometimes you have to accept blame for the errors. Yes the park was in the wrong for making her pay but she was able to get a refund for her error. Remember the park didn't make her turn into the park. She either didn't follow traffic patterns correctly or misread the signs. She was in control of the car. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
