So again Josh how much did you pay for ERT and the discount? How much are you saving by using the Gold Pass what's your savings? Because we can calculate the cost of attending the park from Parking and the ticket but how much to get some ERT in? Is that a $15 each time thing?
-
Or you could just call me out instead of a vague passive aggressive swipe. That works just as well. Look I have no dog in this fight. The parks offerings of ERT do not bother nor entice me. But yes if you are complaining about something that is free you but you want more free stuff you are being very childish. And if you complain irrationally someone is going to call you out on it. Comparing the meal plan to this is apples and oranges. The Meal Plan was sold with a certain set of parameters. Those parameters were changed after many plans were sold making the entire plan itself different. It wasn't restaurants being added or removed or the amount of food options. It was a fundamental change in a product that was bought for one purpose. ERT is not a separate entity that you pay more for as an upgrade. It's a "freebie" offered as a "thank you" for purchasing early. You can disregard this and state you paid for ERT and by that logic you have also paid for the 10% discount offered at points of purchase. And Joshua you could have sent a PM and said I think playing devils advocate is cheap but I see you have taken to the board to call me out in a hope for likes? Maybe?

Haha I remember last year when I had bought a band (that didn't exist) for the free unlimited drinks I asked for a big cup of water. He said he couldn't do it but I could get a big pop then have it refilled with water. I asked if he could ring me up for the pop (which was free because of the band) but not pour it and instead fill it with water.... He did but man oh man.
-
So because of this past few posts I went and read up on free water protocol ( not to be confused with the Frazier Free Water Protocol). Evidently in the UK it is a law that if a place sells booze they must offer free water.... And in the US... Restaurants must have water that can be used for cleaning or consuming but are free to charge what they want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A lot of people have different "cups of tea," so a more balanced line up could greatly benefit a majority of all parties who care about ERT. I understand some people don't care about ERT. But, then again, why come into an ERT thread if you don't care about ERT? In all honesty, no matter which ride or rides are open people are going to be upset or angry (hopefully no one goes mad over this). If you don't like the ERT line up no one is saying you have to go. I teach my older students to pick the mountain they want to die on. It means is this really worth it. Is it worth staking your claim that this is how you want people to see you and judge you. For some maybe ERT not offering enough is merit enough to post on a board and complain about it. Others feel that it's worth pointing out that in the grand scheme of things it's not worth being upset about.

Soooo should the park judge busy days by the amount of people standing in front of the gate? Historical data? Weather data? Magic eight ball? The judgement that it's not fair or balanced or cup o tea is based on the first open Sunday of the season. A day in which is hit 75+. A day that was beautiful and the parking lot was packed. A day that for a kiddie ride the line was 20 mins. Let's not forget this topic was started on a fan site. The poster could have 1: called the park 2: visited customer service before leaving 3: visit customer service before entering on the next visit 4: wrote a letter 5: wrote an email 6: wrote a tweet 7: wrote on the parks Facebook wall 8: wrote a telegram 9: did smoke signals 10: hold up signs outside the park
-
So explain what isn't fair? Did the park state that ERT was certain rides and time when you bought your pass and then changed it? Because if so I'll be with you guys in the picket line....
-
Nah I don't have many things that bother me. Plus what's wrong with asking some innocent thought provoking questions... Truth be told this is more fun asking people to explain why they are upset
-
Soooo how much was the regular pass from say October till about a month or so ago? Because it wasn't offered..... And in about a month Gold won't be offered....
-
If you've been getting 25% off the past several years, and expected it this year, too...yeah...you might be upset. Exactly. People are NOT asking for more nor freebies. People are asking for a balanced system or something closer than what ERT was last year. That is fair. So what would be "fair" in your eyes? All of the rides open for an hour? Maybe 2? Seriously, step back for just one moment. You two (Josh and BJ) are upset because the free thing you are given as a bonus isn't as nice as you want it to be and are claiming it's not balanced or fair or a good use of our money.... If the crowds were light because the weather was colder you wouldn't be complaining. And as for parking, it would be worth complaining if they said he you get free parking but then changed it. But people don't complain that GOld Pass have to pay for preferred parking... If the park said hey Gold Pass parking is going to be the farthest from the gate, well then that's what it is. Free is free. And no matter what the park offers as extra perks, the reason the GP exists is to offer free parking and unlimited entrance into KI during that season. Platinum is for all parks. The reg doesn't give you parking or entrance in October. Also how much are we paying to save 10% using our Gold Pass?
-
Umm.... Yes it is something we pay for. Perks are not free. You pay extra for them. That's the point of a Gold Pass. You pay more, you get more. Otherwise, you are soullessly paying more for a higher tier of pass than the regular pass and thus, wasting money. That's less food on your table for extra perks you don't use nor care about. (Even if you're rich, money is money) People are NOT asking for more nor freebies. People are asking for a balanced system or something closer than what ERT was last year. That is fair. Soooo if a member of the general public wants to come to the park for ERT, what can they pay? Since its factored into the cost of the Gold Pass what is the monetary value of that? So you don't care nor use your pass for multiple entrances or parking it was solely ERT?

30 here. And Steph you are right. My post was not to say anyone person is a two year old with cake. But this complaint (going back to my original post) really comes off as shallow and without substance. To complain about the FP being used, totally get. But to complain that the free thing is not as good as we would want is not a good argument. It's not something we pay for. Now if people were payin $10 a day for ERT and it's a waste let's discuss this. But for $100 (price of Gold) you get unlimited entrance, entrance into haunt, and free parking. ERT is just a bonus. If ERT goes away it's not terrible. If it extends I'm not sure it helps sales. But I apologize if anyone took offense and was personally hurt by my comments. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Honestly I couldn't care less about this whole thing. I don't use ERT, I'm a Gold pass and feel I get great value for my buck. If i didn't I would buy a new one each year. And yes it's okay to call people out for critiquing something that may not be crucial to complain about. Just like its your (vague you) right to complain, I can call you out on a baseless complaint and tell you that you are coming off like the Kid who is upset because he didn't get cake before dinner but was offered it after dinner (true story with my two year old)... When people say that the way ERT is run is ridiculous or that it started the day off poorly, yes that's people complaining. I did say before it became a slam fest not that it is a slam fest. True facts: if ERT goes away I would guess that the drop in season passes wouldn't even be noticeable. If you find me someone who only bought the pas for ERT I would call that person a liar.... I ordered a medium fry and they gave me 2 medium fries, why wasn't there a large one... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would love to work at KI when I'm not working in the school but I'm 100% certain it wouldn't be able to afford my second job pay rate... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For schools (in Ohio) students must attend a certain number of hours versus days. so delays count against the running clock of hours. Also extended school years do help kids retain previously learned information but it's a balancing act between learning in school and learning in the real world. Also the jobs are open to adults and kids, if adults don't take the job it's for a few reasons including but not limited to: pay, hours, job duties Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

The 5 year thing most likely comes from the info a while back that the park uses a 5 year plan. But the 5 year plan is always 5 years out. So some forget that the 2016 plan prob started in 2011, 2017 in 2012, etc.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Maybe he meant limbs as in the amount of limbs he's pulling Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If you have to tell a story with long paragraphs of information you may not have a good story on your ride.... To be honest, the lack of demarcation on that ride makes it difficult to follow any form of story. Your shooting at pictures, then you are in a library and a boiler room and then there are skeletons and then it's over.... Compare to say Smurfs that told the story of Smurfs being chased, or Phantom where the Phantom told you he was bringing you into his haunted theater....

Well I forgot about the card this weekend. In the kid area, my son wanted to shoot hoops. I didn't have a card and so we went to go find a card (prob my fault for not asking where to find one but I did mention I don't have one). Well my son was over it, I saved a few bucks, and we rode some rides Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would it make more sense to build another steel coaster so close to Diamondback? Sometimes you feel like a Terp Don't understand sometimes you feel like a term means but anyways. Building a small steel coaster next to Diamondback that will be hidden is different than building a wood coaster next to an iconic wooden coaster. Terp: noun, a person that inTERPrets many things on this board. Wearer of many hats, not allowed to visit a certain parKK. Asks questions and points out flaws in logic Both make sense tho. Your hubby is probably just guessing like the rest of us. Those that know are not talking. Now if one were to go hang out at the auditors location I'm sure there are a few things to be mapped out. -
We really do live in a more more more society. There is a difference between saying "wouldn't it be nice if" and this started my day out on a bad note. If ERT didn't start till late or if they weren't letting Gold Passers on are legitimate concerns. This isn't a bad topic but we (as a board) have a tendency to nitpick the park over very small details and put the park on blast when they mess up. This doesn't seem like a mistake. This whole topic seems more like wanting and thinking we deserve more. Other parks may offer more in ETR and some may not. As Sparky said, there is a laundry list of problems to be addressed above and beyond the problems of people not getting extra rides in before the general population is allowed in.
