Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Also for those of us not Instagram, posting a picture from something stating its Kings Island is misleading and does nothing but stir the pot more. It does not help the convo at all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The video of the kid being dragged? Frightening. Also if you can peer over with a camera that edge isn't that far either. Just terrible all around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hzLltXrqLcE That's a walk through of the exhibit. To be honest I have never looked at the fencing and we have had zoo passes for 3 years in a row now... You can see the fencing pretty well in the video. It appears that a child or an adult could if they wanted to get into the exhibit pretty easily. At that same token I have seen the new tiger exhibits and if I wanted to I could get in them as well. As a parent and someone who worked in a preschool, this parent is just beyond stupid. Children do stupid things but as adults it is our job to keep our kids safe. To teach them that yes there are rules and they need to be followed. I remember a few years back a parent let her kid pound on the glass in the Columbus gorilla exhibit. When my wife told the kid to not do that as he was upsetting the animal the parents yelled at us. Reports that the child was heard saying he wanted to play and the mom was watching other children at the time. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3615099/Outrage-directed-parents-Harambe-gorilla-s-senseless-death-four-year-old-son-fell-enclosure-led-zoo-officials-fatally-shoot-animal.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

The Zoo stated that in the 38 years this exhibit was open this is the first time someone got in.... WLWT released some footage. It honestly looks like the Silverback is protecting/confused by the boy. Heck he even brought him up out of the most and into the enclosure. Super scary and frightening stuff. On one hand super sad the Silverback died and on the other a human has to be saved versus an animal (wish big could be saved). At the zoo I lift my kid up but usually he's on my shoulders or if he wants to stand we go to the back viewing area that is not near the enclosure. So sad Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Thanks Beast Gal for that info but not what I was speaking on unless you were offering up info for everyone. I was talking that I have someone in my group about to hit 36 inches. So maybe in another couple of year we will hit hat 46 inch mark Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They swarmed you when you tried to ride WWC? Crazy!!! Also hoping that in a few weeks there will be a new 36 inch rider in our group.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Fair point but you said family ride and I was just making an observation. What about Dark Kastle? If KI were to put in a heavily themed family ride or a whole new area of family rides you still don't think that would have a bump in attendance? Thrill rides are great but what is Grandma and Grandpa to do? Bake in the hot sun on a concrete pad while the the rest of the family rides a tall roller coaster? I remember a certain person in charge saying they would market to the family but what's that saying Terp says. Listen to what they say not what they do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Depends on how you sell it.... WDW and for the most Part Universal sells and caters to the family coaster/ride market. If you sell a family ride as boring not fun then yes you are right. But if you talk about the balance of rides, the perfect interactive queue etc it would increase attendance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
And not to compare apples to oranges but I can make a reservation at Disney restaurants an hour before the park opens or right at close. They have meal plans as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

When does the bus pick people up? If the last bus picks up say 10-15 mins after park closes they may be doing it so the employees have a ride home Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That works even better . Let's say the last couple days of writing technical reports has caused my brain to falter. Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Flat - fair... May have been having an aphasia moments.... Haha fair not even the word I'm looking for either but just can't find it. Balanced is probably the word I wanted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gotcha. Thanks yes much smaller than I was thinking.... :/ Don't know why but I sort of assumed it was like the moveable ones they come out with every now and then. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dumb question. Could you take a picture of a section or the cars next to a quarter? Deciding if it's a good fit for the models. Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm just asking questions. No need to be upset about it. I agree with you for the most part but sometimes questions should be asked and I'll do that to help make things a little bit more flat (edit-fair as in both sides of argument) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How long did it take for you to complete? This is what I wanted for my slot car/train table Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Understood. But what if someone is waiting on a whole pizza? Can I pick up my slice or should I wait for them to get their whole pizza? What if they are waiting on a whole pie but I just need a refill? What if my family is waiting at the dinner table? Questions raised only to show that if we deal with only absolutes we get ridiculous situations such as kids being expelled for Lego guns) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ironic that your tag line is "You don't butt in line" as that is really what said person has done. Is it ok to let someone line jump a ride line cause they say they want the back row and you want the front row? Now if I am at Chicken Shack and my salad is being made and the 1 person behind me asks me politely "do you mind a go around I just have a drink" maybe then. But what if I am just getting a meal and not getting a drink and said person jumped in front of me and is now at cashier getting drink paid for or scanned when I could have been the person at the cashier checking out - now what happens when 8 people jump the food line just to fill a drink. Now I am waiting for 8 people to finish at cashier - and this happened to me ALOT last year. There is a reason the food places have a sign that says "place order here" and "pick up order here" or an entry and an exit. KI is making good strides at preventing this as I posted in another thread. Adding queue lines to I-Street LaRosa's makes it a lot harder for a drink refiller to jump the line. Chicken Shack keeps exit locked from outside entry and stops a lot of what was happening and re-configured the queue line to make it harder to bypass. The drink stations should help as well, as long as they are open and people use them. So can I place my drink order at the sign or do I have to make it myself? If I ask and you say no are you going to box me out if I try to pass? Go all Lebron guarding the key? The reason I ask these questions because there is no yes/no answer. To make it seem like there is one is sort of mad. Yes people walking through the exit is bad they should wait in line. But should I wait while you (figurative) decide if you want cheese or pepperoni and then figure out what your 3 kids want when all I'm going to do is slip by and fill my drink cup. Yes you are now in line behind me but while I was filling my drink order you were filling your food order. I'm not talking about bypassing an entire queu of people or walking in an exit. I'm not talking about bypassing a line of people waiting to fill their drinks. But if you and I are the only ones in line and you are waiting on your salad I'll probably just say excuse me get my soda and pay for it while you put your salad on your plate, then get your drink then get in line. If you complain, I'll let you in front of me to pay while sort of laughing and shaking my head. Sorry for the double post enough time went by and I had more to say didn't feel it was good board etiquette to edit the post that had been sitting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went back and reread your original post. That sucks there were 8 people but at the same time I mean it's not like you were ready for the drink station either. I mean in this scenario where is the cut off for not going around someone to get their drink refill? Like if the sub is being wrapped or cut what if it's at the veggies or meat? I mean should a person who is only getting a drink wait while you (figurative you) ask for a different bread stick or decide if you want pickles or asking for napkins in your sub bag? I'm all for not having someone walk through the exit but part of me feels that this is disappointing but not as bad as it could be (cross threading this topic so if it seems to be a bit vague or bouncy that's why). What if I put in my order then go around you while my sandwich is being made get my drink and then get back behind you? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If I'm legit waiting for the front row and they want to go around me to the back row, yes that's cool with me. We all have the hills we want to die on... Also my tag line is a quote from a movie where the main lead begins losing his grip on reality and plays the part of a super hero defending his sense of justice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't disagree waiting in line for a drink refil but my question would be for this scenario, and maybe I'm a huge jerk but I accept that these days. Let's say we are in line you are ahead of me. You stop to order food and all I'm doing is getting a drink. While you wait for your food is it okay for me to go by and get my drink filled while your plate is being made? Or must I wait for you to finish and then you go to the drink line and then me? Personally I would say I could pass (I'm not passing like 5 people just 1 or 2 if they are waiting for food. Also probably not as big of a deal as more and more drink stations get added. (I love the one outside kiddie area by Diamondback, it has lemonade which is okay for a lil one) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
