They could do what Disney does.... Link the season pass card to your credit card and allow the season pass to be used at the games... For daily guests or season pass owners who don't want a credit card on file then the card readers would be fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

Woodstock Express was given to it by Cedar Fair. Paramount didn't have rights to the Peanuts theme. It was named Beastie, during the Nick U expansion era it was renamed to the Fairly Odd Coaster to go with Fairly Odd Parents. So of course when CF came in they had to rename it. So it went and became Wood Stock Express.... Soooo curses Paramount Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

What has KI done that's been teasing for this ride, again a few signs, maybe a few posts on Snapchat or Twitter? We are the one making mountains from mole hills. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Will storm chaser be closed tomorrow.... Seems like a Question because of the will. Due to the RMc closures is a clarification or reason for the question.... The response "what's your source" ? Like for the closures? The park very well could have said something like "our storm chaser is not affected by RMC... Blah blah blah". You know like a professional business Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So instead of answering the question politely they ask for this kids sources? Whatever happened to professionalism Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ride spieling thoughts?
shark6495 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Familiarity breeds contempt. So you're right. But.... There's a level of professionalism. What makes Disney or Universal an air of professionalism, that once you are there you are involved in what they are doing? It's professionalism. From automated spiels, to employee efficiency, to theming and cleanliness. When an employee goofs off on the mic, things look rundown or don't work, or when employees are not efficient then what sets our park apart from a large fair... Maybe that's dif between a theme park and an amusement park Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Old enough they still say Taft Broadcasting. Just want to add these are just surveys to show the property boundaries, easements, etc. They are likely not that interesting to most people. I think he meant the 27 year old who said he was old.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
True I would wonder if rebuilding the tunnel would be cheaper in the long run. Hope it never happens Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Of course people can sue but.... Would they have any legal recourse. Park says keep hands and arms in vehicle at all times. So could anyone win that case Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Had a great time today. Crowd was picking up as we left around 2:30. My son and I had a blast joining the WWC cannon brigade. If anyone was over that way around 11:30ish it was great doing that with you. Also while carrying a 30 pound unconscious toddler from the train to the cars all I could think about was how great a tram would be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

At the park today. Got here at 10 parking lot was minimal. Bag search out front. Walked by DB minimal line at the time. RFYLCB wad maybe 20-30 people in it. May be busier later but not bad now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still waiting on that last part. Cedar Point had one. It was not promoted much. Disney does killer "quick" versions of their Broadway shows and it's great. Origins is a great start for the park. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ride spieling thoughts?
shark6495 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I wouldn't say the only one... Proper mic usage bugs me. If you are using the mic correctly it is just an inch or so from the mouth and your regular speaking voice will be more than adequate. The problem with humor is that.... Not all humor translates and not all people are good story/joke tellers. Again, I hate to compare because it's not fair but let's do it anyway, look at what Disney or Universal do. Do you want to add flavor and personality to your ride and make it fun, make the cue themed. Have the workers dressed for the parts. Have people, not involved with the mech check, interact in character. Let automated spiels tell how to enter the ride. Am I crazy, I seem to remember FoF had an automated spiel in the disguise of an alien? Talking about entering the ride, pulling the restraint tight, and keeping your head back till launch? You can have unique spiels that are automated and well done. Imagine for instance in Banshee's line an automated spiel that sounds almost ghost like telling you to quickly enter and pull your restraint closed... Just a thought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Respectfully your training to get to this point was a bit different than a ride op. I can do many thing conversationally while taking Blood pressure and assessing for fall risks. I'm also not trying to be funny or impress anyone or make things up either and I'll assume you don't either. But your point is very well taken and a good thought I never thought of (doesn't mean I have to agree ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

You want personality have each ride crew have specific uniforms, add theme to a ride, area specific music etc. I don't want nor need personality when it comes to trusting my life to a mechanical system and the person who is in charge of making sure everything is okay is busy creating good rhymes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It has cut down on my game playing significantly. Previously I wouldn't really think about the money I spent on a game. Now I think do I really want to spend money and more so after losing im willing to quit quicker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree whole heartedly. I was using that as a reference of why, maybe, the no swimming sign wasn't enough. If I saw a no swimming sign but saw people out on the water earlier I wouldn't think it would be for any other reason than maybe boating traffic. As in "oh yeah it says no swimming well that makes sense there are so many boats". Open water like that always worries me. We hated life Guarding a man made lake with terrible visibility and no life threatening creatures. Just too much can go wrong Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ride spieling thoughts?
shark6495 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If i can never hear another spieler again it would be perfectly fine. I have hated every single one except for one at that was years ago on TTD. He wasn't driving he was checking restraints and in between trains he would calmly and quickly tell you what you need to do and what to expect (I don't remember exactly what it was but it was something like please sit and secure your safety bar, when the coaster Is ready keep your head back and hands down we won't run if they are not). Also if there was some down time he didn't try joking he would ask honest questions/convo, if a train wasn't ready to launch because some yahoo had their hands up he might ask who is on their first ride ever or farthest driven. It was actually calming. The speilers down here though.... Terrible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 94 replies
