  1. Give it a few weeks and the traffic flow will calm down. Now after being at the park I think that south exit needs to be moved or removed. Maybe that's a long term plan when the rest of the road construction is finished. Is it possible to exit down the employee exit now? Is that a possibility to turn that area into the south exit. So then we would have a nice north exit and south exit and a nice entrance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I think we are agreeing on somethings and my original message was a washed in garbeldygook. Agree: HW and KK are for sure pulling serious numbers in the areas around their parks and most likely has caused KI and CF to Take notice. Gobeldygookness: Outside of those areas both parks do not heavily invest in advertising to raise awareness of the park especially in areas such as Ohio that has 2 big parks. To raise this awareness you need a major media blitz to put KK or HW into the mindset of the average joe or Jane smith. Because right now, neither notice what the park is really doing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Based off of the number I have gathered both KK and HW have a combined attendance right around 2 million people last year. That is around the total attendance of Carowinds last year. You can say people have forgotten about HW or KK but the numbers say otherwise. I will agree and say that KI is on a completely different level than KK and HW. That is mainly due to KI belonging to a international theme park chain. Both HW and KK are independent parks. Both KK and HW will likely never truly challenge KI for top dog in the tri-state area, but 2 million visitors a year is a very sizeable chunk of the theme park market. To say that people have forgotten about HW and KK is a stretch at best. The peeps in Ohio, not people in the the parks backyards. Please go to Zanesville or Stow Ohio, check out in Batavia, or Athens and ask them if they know KK or HW is open or exists. That was my point. It would be like asking people in Columbus about Strickers Grove. Many (not enthusiast) don't know if it exists. That is all not a slam on the park.
  4. I'm sort of split. I hate seeing animals abused/etc. However, as like the top species on the planet.... Sometimes it's hard to balance the idea that we can domesticate animals for our needs (entertainment and work) and that we think animals have souls Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm not suggesting KI should be resting or doing nothing but if you are talking about greater Cincinnati/Dayton/Columbus-Or most of Ohio people, I would gather that a majority don't know/care that KK is open and probably forget about HW. Most people in the state stay true to the 2 parks they know and love (KI or CP) while a a good number miss GL. If Anything KI's only competition from HW and KK are from the guests in that area who know about those parks. Unless/until HW or KK do an extensive media blitz in the Cincy/Ohio area Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I don't hate Cinemagic Kingdom... It's a mouthful and would probably be terrible on merchandise. I really like Hollywood Adventure though. Not that I have any say in it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Completely different if you are talking about news stateside versus elsewhere, completely different if you take a real news site vs a tabloid. Thought your post (as it's worded right now) was about this individual article. If you are talking about news articles in general..... Advertisements on news sites can be paid by page views. (Reason why Buzzfeed has so many click through lists). So if you can create a title that draws clicks you can charge more for an ad (see our average view per page is 300,000 so we will charge you 1 penny per click for this 1x1 add or 10 cents a click for a banner-just an example). In general, the news prints what we as consumers want. We want to know weather, traffic, and if the thing we enjoy will kill us. Other than that, tastes may differ but not much. Every news article or story is crafted to target a certain audience (men or women or children, or single moms, cheating dads, etc). The way the article is crafted will change based on the audience. Don't forget to mix in a little politics (I don't like that company so I'll be a bit more blunt or I like them I'll be nice). Lastly headlines are not created by the writer but editorial. The only way to change what is written is to not read or click on bogus articles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It's supposed to be four. I'm sure someone will read this and check Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Don't get too excited it could be anything. A flat may be boring compared to a Gaga/Woodie but it's a lot better than nothing. And KI could use a few more flats. Well compared to Gaga most things are boring
  10. So don't click/link/read. You blame media yet you post the link. Because of your link the tabloid DM will generate more ad revenue and fulfill their purpose which was to get eye balls on the page. It's easy to blame the headline and the writer for stopping so low, but in the end we can choose where we get our news. With that being said, a park that had a serious accident that was operator error is justifiable to mention. If the park let this accident happen what else might go wrong. But overall the DM is a tabloid. Nothing more. Nothing they wrote was wrong-worded a way for sure but not wrong. "FOOT-deep water" as in its as deep as your foot. Sort of brilliant in a way b Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Maybe they don't know that HB and Looney Tunes are separate....
  12. And people in the desert hallucinate and believe they see a beautiful oasis Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Ehh emoticons may drop a few peeps from following but for the most part people love themselves some emoticons. [emoji106][emoji119][emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ha! I just lost it! Best post I've seen in a while! Thanks. I was driving by the park around 12 when I posted that and the skies had just opened up. I figured someone would appreciate that and crack a smile.
  15. Driving by the park right now. I can confirm there is water in the new slide complex. I repeat the new slide complex has water. Possibly related: there is also water almost everywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. The hard part about teaching kids with autism to wait is that some don't have the ability to recognize time. So 1 min feels the same 1 hour. That's why timers and such work for them. So teaching kids to wait can be done if given some sort of physical piece showing the countdown.
  17. Putting it on PP would give people who don't travel to other parks a reason to buy it. Plus as you said it cuts down the people using it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I hope they work it out. I really dig the idea that there will be a rotation of drivers so you can get a few unique experiences Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I think the trackless vehicle will do wonders... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Last year every time we went the petting zoo was busy. And there were plenty of kids on Sunday talking about animals. So maybe? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thought about this. I hope she does too if I go off on some childish rant about how life's not fair because I stood in a line I volunteered to be in that was too long because the free perk didn't pan out to be as great as a I planned and hoped it would be.
  22. So again Josh how much did you pay for ERT and the discount? How much are you saving by using the Gold Pass what's your savings? Because we can calculate the cost of attending the park from Parking and the ticket but how much to get some ERT in? Is that a $15 each time thing?
  23. Or you could just call me out instead of a vague passive aggressive swipe. That works just as well. Look I have no dog in this fight. The parks offerings of ERT do not bother nor entice me. But yes if you are complaining about something that is free you but you want more free stuff you are being very childish. And if you complain irrationally someone is going to call you out on it. Comparing the meal plan to this is apples and oranges. The Meal Plan was sold with a certain set of parameters. Those parameters were changed after many plans were sold making the entire plan itself different. It wasn't restaurants being added or removed or the amount of food options. It was a fundamental change in a product that was bought for one purpose. ERT is not a separate entity that you pay more for as an upgrade. It's a "freebie" offered as a "thank you" for purchasing early. You can disregard this and state you paid for ERT and by that logic you have also paid for the 10% discount offered at points of purchase. And Joshua you could have sent a PM and said I think playing devils advocate is cheap but I see you have taken to the board to call me out in a hope for likes? Maybe?
  24. Haha I remember last year when I had bought a band (that didn't exist) for the free unlimited drinks I asked for a big cup of water. He said he couldn't do it but I could get a big pop then have it refilled with water. I asked if he could ring me up for the pop (which was free because of the band) but not pour it and instead fill it with water.... He did but man oh man.
  25. So because of this past few posts I went and read up on free water protocol ( not to be confused with the Frazier Free Water Protocol). Evidently in the UK it is a law that if a place sells booze they must offer free water.... And in the US... Restaurants must have water that can be used for cleaning or consuming but are free to charge what they want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
