I'm just throwing out the other side to this because it can become a slam fest very quickly. Just offering a little perspective. And yes it would be like ordering the Sweet Tea and it's either not all the way full (almost but not entirely) or maybe it's not as sweet. Or it's they use a different brand than you normally enjoy. Being upset because the Fast Passers passed you using ERT is a legitimate concern. But because there was not enough rides open during ERT, in my opinion, is silly. Of the things worth being upset about or asking the park to hangs ERT is not one I would even consider a top 100 problem. From an outsider (I have a Gold Pass and will probably never use ERT) this really is a silly argument. You have some people wishing for more and not being happy with what is being offered. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. ERT was not paid for, there was no extra money being spent to obtain ERT, it's a simple extra being offered as a way to say thanks for buying early. The park doesn't have to offer up any big rides. Maybe when it becomes busier they will put up more than 1. But to come on here to start a topic that your day started off poorly because you didn't get enough power laps during a 30 minute ERT because there were other like minded individuals doing the same thing is silly. I guess I'm more confused because again it seems like people are upset that the perk wasn't as great as they thought it was going to be? Not how it was advertised by how they think it should be.... So did you get access to rides before the general public? If the answer is yes... Well then you got the perk. If it's not what you wanted, probably don't partake in the event or buy the pass again.... And also, I'm sure a few people buy the pass solely for the ERT, but I'm guessing the majority of people buy Gold to get free parking and admission to the haunts.... Not to mention Gold is the only option you have in the fall, so really if you bought early it's not like you had a choice to buy cheaper.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As a follow up here is a link to see if one of your favorite songs is represented by ASCAP and their 550,000 composers https://www.ascap.com/Home/ace-title-search/index.aspx Here is the searchable for BMI, scroll to the bottom http://www.bmi.com/search EDIT Here is searchable for SESAC https://www.sesac.com/Repertory/RepertorySongList.aspx?x=59&y=20 I'm no longer involved in the music side of things as much as I was and certain artists or songs may not be covered by these big three. But for the most part places that play a large array of music will purchase these 3 and when you buy music to broadcast it will tell you who to pay. But for less than 50cents per person per visit that can cover all 3. So if you have a pass and go 10 times, you cost about $5 for the music to be played. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is how it worked in radio and tv, so I'll assume it's close for other projects. As for the music, there are 2 or 3 licensing companies. You pay these licensing companies a set fee based on your structure (NPO, for profit, how much profit, etc). You also submit a tracking sheet/data log of the music you play, which since most places are digital is easy to print/etc. the fees you pay are then sent out. http://www.ascap.com/~/media/files/pdf/licensing/classes/themeparkadm.pdf Here is the sample contract from ascap. http://www.bmi.com/licensing/entry/amusement_parks That's from BMI. https://licensing.jamendo.com/en/in-store/entertainment/amusement-park That's another company. Here is SESAC (EDIT) the third big company with ASCAP and BMI https://www.sesac.com/licensing/General.aspx And music writers/producers/singers belong to different companies. Most places usually subscribe to ascap and BMI to ensure they are covered. I couldn't find he BMI price, but the ASCAP price is less than 7 cents per person on attendance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And if the park is super busy the ERT won't be as big of a perk as if the park is not busy. I mean I get the Fast Pass part and being upset about that, but you all are upset because a lot of people all had the same plan as you which was to get some rides on DB. If the crowd wasn't there this wouldn't be a topic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Based on the decoding topic. Here is some info for people stating some not accurate info

CFA is (as I understand it) a franchise staffed not by the park. The restaurants you mentioned are KI employees. You could work out a deal, but why would an outside restaurant give up good employees to another place when it hurts their bottom line. Remember restaurants in the real world have bottom lines and sales percentages they must meet. So if a restaurant gives up its good coney makers to KI for a few days a week, then that Skyline loses money because they have to hire and train new staff. Plus that coney maker may be out of a job when he returns. TL/DR: KI prob won't work out a deal with a local restaurant for its staff and would be better off hiring and training better staff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And what augmented the lines last year? Or what slowed down the Skyline crew? Not attacking just throwing up that it isn't just a this year trend. Now I will say that today at Snoopy Grill the line moved fairly quickly and there was no huge headache for the day. And the Coke refill station by Diamondback ran very smooth. This free burger didn't have enough ketchup. The curve only bumped my grade by 2 points. This ERT doesn't have enough of the things I want. Hey I'm all for telling the park when and how to fix things that are broke but complaining because a perk isn't as great as you wish it was is beyond silly and reeks of #firstworldproblems This cupcake has too much icing. My Coke refill wasn't to the top of the the cup. And BJ you are right. You are coming off sort of spoiled because you had to wait in a longer than you expected line to ride a ride before the general public did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

True Dane. We did the refill at the Coke station by Diamondback. Line was about 10-15 deep and I think we waited around 5 mins, maybe. But they also only have fountain Coke there so it's a much quicker ice, Coke, and go. Freestyle machines are nice, but they are a headache. I am noticing them in Burger Kings more and more Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went to the park for the first time this year. Positives: had a great Log Flume ride. There is something about a group of strangers laughing and cheering based on how wet the riders get Snack line was not bad and got in line for dinner just before 430 and didn't have a terrible line. Line got huge around 5. Rode the carousel always a great time Negatives: Nothing absurd, just the stuff that happens at the beginning of the year. My gold pass didn't scan correctly at the gate and had to manually enter the bar code number. It then worked. Suggestions: I see how the south exit could be very problematic. Maybe close that south exit during the morning openings. Have anyone exiting to use the north exit. Maybe eventually move that south exit farther south.... Things to look forward to: my son is in the 34-35 inch range. A few more weeks he will be at the magical 36 inch mark... Woo hoo!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rode the Flume last year. Still a fun twisty turny ride. I'm not sure we need a more "wet " version. Some people enjoy riding water rides with minimal wetting... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Selfish reasons but I hope it's nothing but a flat and some open walkway just because a few peeps on here are so adamant that it can't possibly be that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'm not sure you can blame food service at all on any of the customers. You have to plan for this. And let's take any line in general at KI, if a customer was expected to step to the side where can they do this? At Festhaus there is barely room for 2 people to pass in the Buffett line. At Skyline on IS its the same way SL in CM there is barely a line and it's more a mob. A restaurant that is not prepared to improve the customer service is set to blame. This is why a Wendy's Restaurant has a line queu that goes to the side versus a straight line. This allows the customer to see the entire menu. Plus there is one register, then drink then food pick up. McDonalds sets it up so that there are multiple POS with space between for order pick ups and drink machines far enough away to cause a cluster. There is a reason every Skyline outside of the park is a sit down with waiters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There is a reason restaurants are the worst business to start and suffer the most closures. It's tough if you know what you are doing. It's down right impossible if you don't. Fast food is different than fine dining. If you try to treat 1 as the other then you will fail. And if KI can't staff enough people then one of two things need to change: either pay better or cut options. I know at points last year the Chicken Shack was stocked with volunteers earning money for an NPO. And right or wrong I have 2 mental images of the KI food employee: One is of the bored teenagers in Skyline not doing work The other is the one who (after getting dropped off by the metro bus) while in uniform walked in front of my car causing me to stop suddenly (she didn't look) and then she yelled at traffic. Once a company, internally or externally, begins to blame the customer for poor service/planning/etc has already failed. At least that's my opinion. You are always going to have a customer who wants a burger with cheese or a heavy/light breaded chicken finger. You can't fix that, and if your business/restaurant is set up correctly it can handle these outliers. If it's not set up correctly, well you will fail. Comparing WDW to KI is not fair but as an example. Last year at Disney we got in some "quick service" type food lines. The longest any line really got was 10-12 deep and took about 5-10 mins to order and maybe no more than 10-15 to get our meals. That 10-15 you were waiting for them to call your number. But staffing levels, employee engagement, and facility helped speed these lines up. In some places there were only 2 cashiers but serving four lines funneling to a pick up area. Still the line went fair fast. And that was with a meal plan as well. And Terp, there has been a significant purge as of late in the restaurant business. Your older managers who had 30-40 years of customer service are being relieved of duties to cut costs. Instead they hire low rent managers. These managers are usually younger and don't care. That's why you will notice that as a whole, good quality, cleanliness, service, etc are starting to see a decline. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We have one meal plan for our family and again it's so that having a little guy they get hungry every 2-4 hours. That allows us to eat at off times (10:45/11, 3,etc) so most of the time the lines are non-existent. No one wants to bash employees but they are responsible for part of the problem. Either through their own fault or management. If you can't count change back quickly, or have a hard time making cheese coneys or can't figure out the pop machine that's all on the employee. Not having another register open, that's a supervisor or a management positions fault. Correct me if I'm wrong but, doesn't Festhaus (burger and pizza side) have 8 registers? There should be no reason they don't have the 8 open. If people can't up they are backing the line up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For a place like Skyline and some other places in the park the blame has to be put on the employees. Now looking at other options, the ordering like Sheetz would be perfect. It was my idea as soon as I saw this topic. Great Minds Steph! However at the burger joint near Vortex that lines moves very slow and it's just an employee taking orders. So not sure if screens would help or hurt in that situation. When you look at a place like LaRosas it should flow quickly. Literally pick up a pizza and go. Yet some how that line moves so slow. Maybe a cash only or card only lines? More registers open? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm wondering if this will all be better when the Main Street work is completed. I understand why the city/park closed off the the old entrance, but if it were me I think I would have worked from North to South instead of South to North.... But that's just me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I must have missed your post Terp! Not like we went from 75 to 84 pages in a few days haha! And That sounds like a headache. Might wait another weekend. Based on discussions I am already starting to regret the food plan for my son... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Okay so I didn't get to go to preview opening weekend so some one help me visualize what is going on in the parking lot because it doesn't make sense to me. After I pay the toll, I go down (south) the row parallel to 71 and once I pass the Kings Island sign/drop off area am I allowed to enter the rows to park or do I have to proceed all of the way to the south exit area, turn left, go towards the park, and hen left or right and then proceed into the aisles to park? It can't be any worse than if you wanted to leave via the south exit and you had the people cutting diagonal across the parking lot via the old south entrance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
