If you could only stay in one section of KI for the day.

Rivertown by far. I love the look, I love the rides, I love the food, and I love the shade. As for my top 3: 1. The Beast 2. Diamondback 3. The Racer -

Cincinnati Zoo Won't Hire Smokers

Then they can go behind the building, or they can hold off on smoking for 10 minutes while the tour is going through. The smell would linger, but it's better than the smell of a cig burning right in front of you. These are just my opinions. I'm a hardcore free-market fan so I think that businesses should make their own rules rather than be governed by an outside law, so I respect the Zoo's right to do it, but I don't support their decision... -
Honestly I don't think you can do a "ride vs ride" or "feature vs feature" comparison of Holiday World against Kings Island. Two different parks completely. I think you could do one with Cedar Point vs. Great Adventure, but since Holiday World only has 4 coasters it's impossible to compare unless you look at the entire picture. I'll just state my opinion by saying that both parks are equal in their own right, but Holiday World is much better for families as well as more affordable than Kings Island. From that standpoint Holiday World is better. However, Kings Island offers more to do, as well as has more to do for everyone. From that standpoint Kings Island is better.

Nothing, but what's the harm of them smoking in the privacy of their offices? -

Except for bad publicity, which hurts businesses harder than any law can... I know, that's the point I was making. I should have been more clear. -

^ Workers are always supervised. Maybe not by a superior, but by customers and fellow workers. If a customer saw a person light up a cigarette, I'm pretty sure that they'd tell customer service if it bothered them. And if they are somewhere that no one can see, rather it be a customer, superior, or co-worker, then what's the harm (especially if it's in their own home)? -

I think that businesses should be allowed to do this, but it's pretty ridiculous that they are. What next? "Since Kings Island sells Coca-Cola products, you may not work here if you drink Pepsi." -
Wildcat is one of the best rides of its kind, and this is coming from a person who doesn't normally like rides of that kind.

When comparing Paramount to Cedar Fair, I personally prefer Cedar Fair. I'll take better rides, better treatment of current rides, great landscaping, cleanness, and better employees over movie themes. I think that Action Zone has become an eyesore with a large wooden coaster that was an overall bad investment along with a water tower that looks awful and out of place. In my opinion, the Rivertown area is far from dead. Look at White Water Canyon's exit path for an example. Truly a relaxing place to be. The Beast's area is great and is still quite secluded. Sure, Diamondback may have been a little out of place, but where else would you have put it? At least it's nice to look at, unlike a tan building with an artificial cave sitting in the front of it. Rivertown is my favorite area of the park, and I could spend all day in it and be completely relaxed. With that being said, I think most of us can agree that Taft was probably the best owner. Just look at the Brady Bunch episode and look at how traditional the park looked. Taft was a company that built the park around family entertainment, but it also introduced The Beast which would bring thrillseekers to the park for decades to come. I think we could also agree that Linder was the worst of the owners. If I'm correct, most of the flat rides in Coney Mall were removed in those few years.

At this point I don't think it's possible to predict what will happen in 2012 until we see what happens in 2011. The future of Son of Beast is the center of attention now, and until something is done with it I don't see a new ride popping up anywhere.

Now for the ultimate question: What will come first? School or the mid-August announcement?

It's easy to discuss topics other than Kings Island, which is another problem with a lot of forums. Most people never post in the off-topic section but many do here. The people here aren't 2Dimensional. There's more to a person than their screen-name. Basically what I'm saying is that people on here aren't afraid to show their personality. This is an actual community rather than just a place to post stuff like a lot of other forums. Of course there's going to be disagreements, but that's because we're all human here.

Yes, Cornball has seat dividers as well as buzz bars. You are given so much clearance between your lap and the bar that it feels like the lap bar isn't even there.
-
Hmm, this would work for just about everything Dick Kenzel has said... A ride like that would appeal to the teen market (despite the fact that the name is as awful as sin), it brings back memories (to an extent), and it would be considered a thrill ride. Would it fit in the area of the park where all of the construction markets are? Yes. I could see this happening.
-
I personally don't like the name at all, nor do I see it "appealing to the teenage market". A kiddie coaster for the Valleyfair expansion? At least I hope so...
-
I wouldn't worry about taking pictures of rides unless you are on rides. If you are on a ride, keep the camera away. They seem more strict on the "no loose articles" rule this year, so I wouldn't risk it. It isn't worth a kick from the park. As far as taking pictures of kids, I would use a LOT of common sense there! Heck, I wouldn't even recommend taking a picture where people could get the impression that you are taking a picture of them, regardless of age. Nothing spells ackward like a situation where you're taking a picture of a ride, but someone thinks your taking a picture of them (I know this from experience).

If Kings Island could only keep one Coaster...

Cool point of view GYK. Never thought of it that way, and it makes perfect sense. -
Amen. Family Guy is the lowest of the low in television, yet it is still shown during primetime. If you compare the haunt attractions to an episode of Family Guy then you'd see that the haunt attractions mild to say the least. I see nothing wrong with pushing the limits. Obviously when a park is open until midnight it is marketed for teenagers, so target audience enjoys this type of thing which is relatively mild compared to what you can find on TV. Heck, Coney Island once had a freak-show with actual people getting exploited and laughed at by the park guests, and people are talking about the negative impact of Halloween decorations...
-
Yes, after riding it several times yesterday Cornball must be ridden in the front seat. I couldn't believe the amount of the airtime, and that's after a mediocre ride near the back seat.
-
They actually had some gut to do that knowing the controversy around the ride. The rumor has been going around since the loop was removed (everyone at my school seems to think that the train balanced itself upside down and by time the workers saw it everyone had fallen out... )

If Kings Island could only keep one Coaster...
Pillsberry123 replied to Adventure Express's topic in KI Polls
The Beast may be my favorite coaster there, but if they were to get rid of all the coasters except for one it would be The Racer. Many smaller parks survive with an out and back coaster the size of The Racer as their main coaster and get along fine. It's something families and kids can enjoy but it isn't a kiddie ride either. -
Also remember the difference between debate and arguments. This is a forum, and disagreements are part of what makes the forums fun. It's personal attacks and competition that turn debates into something that no one wants to read. Especially when it just turns into a match to get in the last post, because it just never stops. There's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, and there's not even anything wrong with publicly disagreeing with someone. It's attacking someone because they disagree with you, and this is going on often enough to be a problem. Again, I'm not calling out any particular person.

After looking at the SOB topic I'm definitely going to have to agree... I made this account last year but I didn't start posting until this season. It seems to be getting more and more common as the days go on... EDIT: I know that sounds a little harsh so I just want to say that I am NOT directing that towards anyone.
