KI's WindSeeker has operated this season; I have ridden it. It was running this past Friday until strong winds forced it to shut down.

The $37.99 offer is valid any day of the season. The $14.99 offer is valid Mother's Day and Father's Day only.

This week is Math & Science Week, so there may be lots of school groups at the park. Definitely go to the back of the park first, as ride queues near the front will be packed early. You might choose to enter at the marina gate or the resorts gate (by Soak City) instead of at the front gate. Predicting crowds at Cedar Point is very difficult; as jdf21972 said, you can buy Fast Lane if you find that you need it. I may go at some point this week, but I probably won't know until close to the last minute. By the way, you filed this topic under the "Kings Island" forum. For future reference, topics not related to Kings Island should go in one of the other ones.

^ Yes, that is possible. Guest Services at either park should be able to help you. You would pay the difference between what you paid for your gold pass and the current price of a platinum pass.

I was not implying that they were. I actually prefer very little salt in my food. Many people like (savory) food to taste salty. As a result, appealing too the masses often means adding too much salt. Salt is an important part of seasoning as one of the basic tastes, but it's far from being the only part.
-
^ I agree. I like food well-seasoned and with just enough salt, but no more. By using more of the marinade and breading mixtures, yesterday's chicken was both saltier and more heavily spiced. In my opinion, it was slightly over-seasoned and significantly over-salted. Hopefully they get the process ironed out as the season goes on. (Though I won't be there often, regardless, as I very rarely eat deep fried food.)

Holiday World 2014 Park Map
malem replied to darkmarkman's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^ Marsh stores, as well as select Kroger stores in Indiana/Kentucky, carry Holiday World tickets. A good Kroger store to stop at is the one in Carrollton, KY just off I-71. AAA Ohio Valley stores (incl. Cincinnati) also carry discount tickets (for AAA members). Of course, you'd want to call first about availability/pricing. -
Saturday, May 10th....Who's headed to KI today?
malem replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
Today might be another good day to be at the park. Scattered rain/storms tend to keep crowds away. -
Those who thought the chicken was underseasoned on Media Day/Opening Day should try it again. There was considerably more breading and marinade yesterday. (Though I liked it better the original way, as I prefer much less salt than most people do.)

Apparently, Line Jumping IS an Accepted Sporting Event at KI Now :)
malem replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
A violation of park rules, for sure, but illegal? What constitutes a "reasonable" accommodation isn't always cut-and-dry. If he can usually wait in the standard queue, he might prefer to wait with his friends instead of always getting a return time. Many people don't like receiving more accommodation than they actually need. If he does have to leave, I would assume that he then gets a return time to rejoin his party in the station. (Rather than being escorted back into a crowded queue area.) -

That's not necessarily true. For those with disabilities, "reasonable" accommodations generally must be made. Concerned guests should talk to Guest Services to inquire about any necessary accommodations, including accessible ride entrances and dietary requirements. -
So far this season: Banshee, Delirium, The Bat.

At visitkingsisland.com, the price is $64.99 per ticket, plus $5.99 processing fee per order. Five people would be a grand total of $330.94. Assuming that it's still offered at Kings Island's front gate for the same price, the total total there would be $324.95. Parking at Kings Island would be $12/$15, at parking at Cedar Point would be $15. You might save some money by purchasing your ticket at a participating Kroger or Meijer store. If you choose this option, call the store you plan to visit to verify availability and price. If you buy the tickets at Kroger on a weekend and use their fuel points coupon, you could save $1.30/gallon on one Kroger gasoline fill-up.

You might be interested in the Kings Island/Cedar Point combination ticket, which offers one day at each park for one price.

^ The way you worded it there, what you posted is absolutely fine. Posting your own observations, or even speculation, is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure that they are presented as such. The things to be careful about are starting rumors and presenting information about the park that might be false. (Saying that you "heard" something can give people the wrong idea.)

A lot of people read this message board, so there are often real consequences when bad information gets posted. Something overheard from a member of the public, another KICentral member, or even a ride operator isn't necessarily something that should be published online. I don't mean to single you out; this is in general. The terms of use of this site require that any "insider" information have a source cited. Unless this source is a person authorized to represent the park (Guest Services, public relations, etc), posting it here is probably a bad idea. You don't want to post incorrect information, and you don't want to get any park employees in trouble.

With meetups, people generally don't stick together in one large group. Getting everyone there on the same day might not be necessary, except for special events that everyone wants to attend. (Coasting for Kids, Coaster Crew event, ERT events, announcements, Closing Day, etc)

Ride hosts at the Eiffel Tower are also wearing Planet Snoopy uniforms. The same group of employees staffs both Planet Snoopy and International Street. -

No it hasn't. Enchanted Voyage was part of The Happy Land of Hanna-Barbera from 1972 to 1981, and part of Hanna-Barbera Land 1982-1983. Smurf's Enchanted Voyage was part of Hanna-Barbera Land 1984-1991. Phantom Theater was part of Hanna-Barbera Land 1993-2002. Scooby-Doo and the Haunted Castle was part of Hanna-Barbera Land 2003-2005. It wasn't until 2006, when Hanna-Barbera Land was transformed into Nickelodeon Universe, that the dark ride transitioned to International Street. It's been part of that section since. I beg to differ. The 1972 brochure lists The Enchanted Voyage as part of HB: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/197x/pki197x1_2.html ... as does the 1974 brochure: http://KICentral.com/history/photos/displayimage.php?album=8&pid=247#top_display_media The 1989 map lists Smurfs' Enchanted Voyage as part of HB: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/1989/pki1989index.html Even in the Paramount years, Phantom Theatre's ride entrance & exit are firmly in the pink HB section of the map. 2000: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/2000/pki2000.html 2002: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/2002/pki2002.html And with Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, same thing. The "Attraction Locater" section of the 2005 map even has a pink circle number next to the ride name, indicating it's part of Hanna Barbera Land and not International Street (which has green circles for its attractions). 2004: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/2004/pki2004.html 2005: http://www.themeparkbrochures.net/maps/2005/pki2005.html I could very well be wrong, but it's my understanding that the dark ride building is (and has been) considered part of International Street. It has often been marketed along with the adjoining kids' section, and its theming has (at times) matched it. I'm pretty certain that Phantom Theater was never listed as an attraction in Hanna Barbera Land. -
KI's bring-a-friend offers are really popular, so other days are likely to be better for avoiding crowds. Promotions like this are often scheduled on weekends that otherwise have lighter-than-usual attendance.
-
If you just heard someone say that, it might be incorrect information. As CoasterOhio noted, a source should be cited. Posting incorrect information can result in needless calls to the park, untrue rumors, and even questions from the media. Kings Island really appreciates it when we don't let that happen. Kings Island maintenance staff and state ride inspectors have a lot of work to do with each ride in the park before it can open for the season. Drop Tower is apparently a bit late this year. Rides are complex machines with a lot of individual parts which must be inspected, refurbished, and/or replaced on a regular basis.

The dark ride has always been considered part of International Street, not the kids area (The Happy Land of Hanna Barbera, Nickelodeon Universe, or Planet Snoopy). -

Personally, I think yelling or going drill sergeant on them is a bad idea. I wouldn't want to frighten another park guest, even if that guest is cutting in line.
