  1. ^ Many people have linked their pages in the "Scream for A Kid Again" thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28656-scream-for-a-kid-again-on-Banshee/
  2. KI has stated that they could have continued running it backwards, but that they chose not to. Not many are qualified to comment on how that particular recommendation from PTC may have affected the park's obligations under Ohio law. I'm certainly not.
  3. why would the floor need to drop? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk The floor drops on other B&M inverted coasters to ensure sufficient clearance as the train moves. Banshee's trains are different, instead being based on the design of B&M's wing coaster trains. The seats are tilted, allowing guests to board without the floor rising. EDIT: basically what homestar92 and upstop said.
  4. ^ A good idea. Some people wouldn't take a break without being forced to.
  5. Ultimately, you'd want to limit attendance to maintain a good guest experience for something like this. Ideally in a way that minimizes the frustration of excluded guests. I guess my suggestion would be to issue wristbands that are required to enter the wave pool during the film. Limit the number to keep the crowd size manageable.
  6. Hopefully they'll tweak the event this year. It was noted in last year's thread that a queue to enter the pool deters people from getting out to use the restroom. Not really a hygenic situation.
  7. Denver lacks major amusement parks within an easy driving distance, and Banshee is one of the biggest new rides for 2014. Also, sharing a corporate parent with Cincinnati's WCPO-TV probably made it easy to get the footage.
  8. The event page says that the top 32 fundraisers will be seated on the first train, implying that all 8 rows will be available. There should be plenty of downtime during Media Day itself. With limited seating, non-continuous operation, and (I'm guessing) well over 1000 enthusiasts - we're not likely to be marathoning the ride. Banshee's signature experience is at night, anyway. For Media Day, I'm really looking forward to meeting lots of people, (finally!) seeing Banshee in operation, and perhaps even being surprised with rides on The Bat. The charity event looks to be the best opportunity for Banshee riding, and it's for a really good cause. It's too bad that KI didn't plan a "Coaster Campout" for the 6 hours between the events.
  9. Some IT administrators configure the operating system to ignore unauthorized devices. Not completely secure, but it does prevent casual data theft and the unintentional introduction of malicious software.
  10. By the way, for anyone else who is interested, the park has stated that space is limited. Thus far, there are 190 online participants plus representatives of several corporate sponsors. An exact number of spots isn't available for this, but Diamondback's auction was limited to 224. I would recommend registering soon, especially if you expect to be near the fundraising minimum.
  11. Media Day ends at 2:00pm (14:00), and registration for this doesn't start until 8:00pm (20:00). That's plenty of time to sleep, hang out, and/or relax. The park opens late on Friday, so those staying around for Opening Day should be well-rested. I'm sure that I'll be tired by the end of the day. Echoing APE, I'm confident that it will be well-worth it. Opportunities to attend events like this one don't happen every day.
  12. I just registered: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/mmiddleton/screamforakidagain Browsing through the fundraising list, I recognize lots of names from KICentral. Glad that we're well-represented and that I can (probably) join as well! It's great to know that Banshee's debut is bringing hope and joy to children and families fighting terrible illnesses. A positive outlook can definitely make a huge difference. (P.S. When trying to donate to my own page, FirstGiving wants a 7.69% fee. Does this event accept offline donations?)
  13. Something we haven't seen for 171 long days. The record low for Cincinnati on April 18 is 18°F, and the record snowfall is 3.3". Everyone should be very glad that ohiocolts already has the day off from school.
  14. Just for fun, here are observations from ten years of Cincinnati weather on April 18. Let's hope this trend continues! 2013: Hi 81° Lo 61° (dry) 2012: Hi 69° Lo 44° (dry) 2011: Hi 74° Lo 50° (trace rain) 2010: Hi 61° Lo 35° (dry) 2009: Hi 75° Lo 43° (dry) 2008: Hi 75° Lo 48° (dry) 2007: Hi 63° Lo 47° (0.02" rain) 2006: Hi 71° Lo 45° (dry) 2005: Hi 79° Lo 51° (dry) 2004: Hi 81° Lo 58° (dry)
  15. So that you have a visual, here's a screenshot from the teaser "The Bat" website. EDIT: Or what APE posted
  16. ^ Sent you a PM with his e-mail address.
  17. ^ Did you send Tim a forum PM or an e-mail? If the former, try the latter. Forum messages are easy to miss with the default settings.
  18. Devan definitely has a membership. I still haven't been back since the February meetup. Sometime, I have to get there to see if I can manage a decent time.
  19. The strong March sun made it feel a lot nicer than low 30s in the winter. Unfortunately, it couldn't do much to increase the air temperature. ^^^ & ^^^^^ Did you two get the March e-mail from the karting place? This month, you can buy one pack of races and split them to save money.
  20. ^ The weather today is not appropriate for late March. April weather can be highly variable in this region. Upper 80s and sunshine is possible. As is lower 20s and 3" of snow.
  21. KI is opening a week earlier than it did from 2011-2013, and Easter falls on a later date this year than in many years. Amusement parks are typically open on holidays during the operating season.
  22. ^^^ Forecasts more than a few days out are worth very little. At three weeks out, they're just guessing based on long-term averages and/or seasonal forecasts. Jonathan decided to have some fun with it one year: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/25285-accuweather-claims-25-day-forecast/
  23. ^ Those threads have been deleted, causing the error. It was previously stated that the Media Day thread was deleted to avoid confusion after the RSVP deadline elapsed. EDIT: Or what Jonathan said in a few more words, a few seconds earlier.
  24. They requested that pictures of the ride testing not be posted here, no matter how you might take them, unless specifically authorized by the park. EDIT: Or what TheCrypt said
  25. It's very kind that you're potentially willing to give your spots away. Contacting the park is definitely the way to go; see the contact information on the event page. For the Diamondback first rider auction in 2009, I believe that some seats were given to families from A Kid Again. Your contributions toward this are extremely generous; I certainly hope that members here wouldn't use them as a reason not to raise money themselves.
