  1. ^ From the FAQ on colormerad.com: Unfortunately, I don't think I would enjoy being pelted with colored cornstarch at 7:30am, or any time. I hope you all have fun!
  2. ^ Likewise, I've only been evacuated from Mammoth. They have a set of stairs at the bottom of each LIM, along with concrete paths to get back to the station. A lifeguard showed up quickly with a small ladder to help everyone out of the slide. Watching them bring the rafts back with dollies and a forklift, after evacuating, was entertaining.
  3. ^ Dane specifically asked that people not make spam posts to test the capitalization filter. If problems are noticed (eg. "the bathroom"), the best avenue would be to private message him.
  4. For those on mobile who cannot see the Flash-only ticket store, here's a direct link to the 2014 image: https://shopcf.accesso.com/ShopV4/store/cedarfair/images/Tix_13_Souvenir_Bottle.jpg
  5. To do this, use the quote feature as normal to quote into a new post. However, instead of posting that new post, copy and paste the quote into your previous post. This works on both mobile and desktop browsers, with both rich text editing and BB Code editing. It probably doesn't work with Tapatalk, though.
  6. When travelling alone, I just want to get on my way after park closing. My usual "meal" is a granola bar in the parking lot. The last time I went with others, we ate at Perkins after the park closed.
  7. Really, it doesn't matter why. As the owner of the intellectual property in question, Cedar Fair has the right to impose conditions on its usage. They've been generous enough to allow us to use their intellectual property with very few restrictions. For those still curious as to why Cedar Fair might care, read the past several pages of this topic. Many members, most notably Terp, have given numerous very good reasons. Cedar Fair has a legal obligation to its unitholders to preserve the value of its intellectual property. With trademarks, this value includes both exclusive use and goodwill. The company must ensure that entities allowed to use their intellectual property - including KICentral - are not hurting its brand(s) or contributing to the genericization of its trademark(s).
  8. Anyone remeber the Ride Warrior forums… I agree with his statement 100%. This forum is starting to get taken over a bit in my opinion… It's really quite simple. This community uses intellectual property owned by Cedar Fair and its partners/subsidiaries, including photos and trademarks. This property is extremely valuable, and all companies must take steps to safeguard it. The conditions for such use requested by Kings Island are very simple. Write trademarks in their correct form, properly attribute images owned by Cedar Fair, and use the correct names when referring to the company's products/services. As has now been communicated to us many times, this site has accepted and will enforce this very basic request.
  9. Tony clarified via Twitter that the lottery is only for those wanting to camp inside the park. All coaster club members who register will be able to come to the event, which includes 2 days of free admission to Cedar Point.
  10. Kings Island's body slides (where this rule is enforced) have been there since the waterpark first opened. The hardness and durability of fiberglass have improved over the years, so strict enforcement might be more important for older slides.
  11. Marketing at Cedar Fair in Sandusky probably won't be able to help with a season pass issue at any park. If the issue concerns a technical issue with the online store or payment plan, you might need to call the phone number for that. 407-261-4291 For anything else, you would contact the park. They might not be able to resolve season pass issues until closer to the beginning of the season. If you're visiting another Cedar Fair park before Kings Island opens, you might need to call that park.
  12. Details for the Campout have been posted: https://www.cedarpoint.com/online-fun/coaster-campout Some highlights: Admission is free both days (but coaster club membership is required of the person who registers) 1.5 hours of Maverick/Skyhawk ERT Friday night 2 hours of Millennium Force/Gatekeeper ERT Saturday morning Dinner (on Friday) and breakfast (on Saturday) are included Maximum of 4 people per tent Campsites are in the Antique Cars area. Participants will be chosen by lottery
  13. ^ The vests adjust and lock into place to secure each rider. One of the functions of the belt is to limit the size of the occupant to ensure that the primary restraints work as designed. If it won't fasten, you can't ride.
  14. ^ The payment plan is only available through the Flash (desktop only) Accesso store. I don't think they do phone orders, but you could call the park and/or customer support for the online store and see. 513-754-5700 and 407-261-4291, respectively. You could borrow a computer, use a public computer, or attempt to use one of the unofficial Flash browser apps for Android. You might also write a letter to the park letting them know how inconvenient it is to have a ticket store that fails to work on the majority of Web-enabled devices in 2014.
  15. ^ A 4-day park hopper ticket cost $202 in 2004, and unused days never expired. The same ticket now costs $338, and unused days expire in two weeks unless you pay significantly more.
  16. ^ Those who get to the park early will be closer to the front of the crowd, theoretically allowing them to ride Banshee sooner than those who arrive late (without Fast Lane Plus). The "running of the bulls" could be fixed by placing a few security associates at key positions, reminding everyone to walk. Once a few people get away with running, many others join in to keep up.
  17. ^ Still planning to seek out http://rcdb.com/1530.htm ?
  18. ^^ The important apps are built into iOS and Android by default. The mobile Web works just fine; not everything needs to be its own app.
  19. ^ Meeting the Friday deadline to have a KIC username was required to be eligible for Media Day. The $9 price is no longer available, whether you had a KIC username before the deadline or not. The current price is $15. If you join Coaster Crew through the regular sign-up page after January 24, 2014, it's my understanding that you are not eligible for Media Day.
  20. ^ To participate with Coaster Crew, you had to join by yesterday to be considered a member for Media Day. Ryan previously stated that existing KIC members could join Coaster Crew after that deadline and remain eligible, though the fee has now gone up. (It's now too late for anyone who wasn't an active KIC member before the deadline.) I don't know what the deadline is for other coaster clubs. To see if you can sign up and be eligible, you would need to contact the club that you are interested in.
  21. You should have a valid membership to the club that you RSVP'd under. As I understand it, this will be strictly enforced. If you are thinking of attending events such as Beast Buzz at Kings Island or HoliWood Nights at Holiday World, make sure that you are signed up with a club at the right level.
  22. Don just said that the content can be embedded as long as both credit and a link back to the original source (park site, Twitter post, page on facebook.com, etc) are also provided. Proper attribution is needed when publishing the content of others in any medium. This forum ranks particularly high in Google searches related to Kings Island, so misuse of the park's content here could potentially cause them a lot of harm. EDIT: Here's an example, based on Don's example above: Kings Island announced on Twitter that the last piece of track on Banshee was installed this morning. 23. Obviously you guys are joking, but such discussion still shouldn't happen here. Not everyone will necessarily see it as a joke.
  24. Is this a request from the park? It's nice to be able to see media that the park shares via mass communication without having to visit individual Instagram pages, for instance, in order to see them. Including context, such as a low-resolution image or a brief summary of text, often makes conversation easier to follow. If Kings Island wishes that we only link to their social media pages, it's certainly within their rights to ask this.
