  1. Plugins wouldn't be causing the chrome JavaScript issue. Disable the Avast extension and see if that fixes it. Plugins are generally only loaded when a webpage requests it. The only ones you need, in all likelihood, are Flash and Silverlight.
  2. ^ Just like Windows. The term "windows" was in use for graphical computer interfaces long before Microsoft released Microsoft Windows.
  3. Chrome is used as a generic term for user interfaces - buttons, menus, and other elements that the user interacts with. chrome:// URIs are used to reference files that are part of Firefox's XUL-based user interface. Google chose the term, implying that the browser functions as a user interface to the Web.
  4. ^ Which add-ons, if any, are installed in Firefox?
  5. Does this happen when you load the page, or does it only happen if you right click the page? That script updates the context menu, and line 16 is "return;". My best guess is that one of your extensions is causing it, perhaps by calling that function many times in a row. See if it happens with them disabled. chrome:// URIs are part of Firefox, not Chrome. (They predate Google Chrome by at least 5 years.)
  6. Water-based fog would dissipate rapidly, so fog machines use other ingredients for a lasting effect. Glycerin-based fog is definitely not toxic, but some can be sensitive to it with prolonged exposure. You'll be flying through any fog quickly on Banshee, so I wouldn't expect it to bother many (if any) people. I believe it was mentioned that fog was to be part of the night ride experience. If so, individuals sensitive to theatrical effects could simply ride during the day.
  7. I experienced this slowness a couple times this week. I don't think it was a network issue, as TCP connections were handshaking quickly. For what it's worth, the most common cause for this type of issue on a VPS is an OOM condition, though other bottlenecks are certainly possible. Since it's at ~2:00am, maybe there's a late-night cron job that's causing issues.
  8. It often closed early last season when crowds were light. If that trend continues this season, it will be smart to get there early in the day.
  9. ^ Don't forget to provide a link to the park source.
  10. You should probably start a new one. Reusing existing topics is good, but entirely new discussions generally deserve new threads. This thread finally got closed.
  11. If it did happen, you know you couldn't resist coming. Gator would have an extra special "greeting" for you, I'm sure. We did it for your mom last year, so...
  12. ^ The park didn't remove the sign. The wind did. http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2003/09/27/loc_mday.html EDIT: Actually, you probably mean the "Paramount Action Zone" sign. Presumably that was removed to better market the park to its potential suitors.
  13. ^ Trademarks (and other property) that belonged to Paramount Parks are now owned by Cedar Fair or a subsidiary. ("The Beast", "Kings Island", etc) Trademarks that belonged to Paramount Pictures or other Viacom/CBS subsidiaries ("Top Gun", "The Italian Job", "Face/Off", "Tomb Raider", "Star Trek") do not. I don't believe that Action Zone was a registered trademark, though it certainly was (and is) a trademark. Paramount's Kings Island stylized the area with a trademark symbol, as "Paramount Action Zoneâ„¢".
  14. Thanks for the pics & TR! It sounds like it was a great event. Ultimately, I figured that going behind the scenes at CP wasn't worth 200 miles of driving on two-lane highways in questionable winter conditions. I probably would have been there had I known that others from here would be in attendance.
  15. I would expect those to be added later. The linked page currently says "More benefits to come", and food discounts are advertised on the season pass sales page.
  16. ^ Dorney Park introduced FastPay last season, which featured RFID wristbands that could be loaded with money and used throughout the park. More info is available on their website: https://www.dorneypark.com/plan-a-visit/fast-pay As far as I know, there haven't been any announcements regarding RFID payment systems at other Cedar Fair parks.
  17. A chicken shack will probably fit in at least as well as a burrito shack does in Oktoberfest.
  18. ^ Assuming that is the case, I wonder if a certain family of butchers will be there this fall...
  19. Fungus is a risk, but it can be mitigated with good hygiene and by using footwear in shower/changing areas. Parasite infections are exceedingly unlikely at a waterpark with property treated water and hard surfaces. Beaches, even on the ocean, are much more worrisome in this regard. By the way, you forgot to mention HPV (causing plantar warts). The risk seems to be low for most people, especially when taking precautions like using footwear in the most high-risk areas. Supposedly, most adults are already immune. Those worried should simply avoid going barefoot in public places. The cleanliness of the park has a substantial effect on the risk of any infection. Severely overcrowded parks (like KI's Soak City) are a lot more worrisome than parks with a reasonable attendance limit that get sanitized nightly (like Disney's waterparks or Great Wolf Lodge). The last time I was at KI's Soak City, the overpowering smell of disinfection byproducts ("chlorine smell") was enough to make me get out of there quickly. This is a sign of water that's excessively soiled.
  20. 600' would be the length of the zipline; calling that number the drop was certainly a misprint. It will definitely be a unique way to traverse the park, though I can think of more interesting places to go ziplining. Hopefully there are no problems with loose articles, spitting, or other leakage of bodily fluids. I wonder how much the (presumable) upcharge will be. Either way, it might be a fun activity for one of the 2014-2015 off-season meetup(s).
  21. ^ I rode it in the morning of Closing Day 2013 with temperatures in the mid 30s.
  22. Ryan and Jonathan (among many others) had red hair all day long!

  24. By the way, remember that the Susan G. Komen "Color Me Pink" 5K walk/run may return this season. Those wanting to participate in just one race at Kings Island involving colored powder might want to hold off for details on that. A Google search for recent content involving "Color Me Pink" includes an empty page on Kings Island's website, entitled "COLOR ME PINK 5k", updated 2 days ago.
  25. ^ Hopefully they're all keeping their mouths shut.
