Something is up with the infamous Action Zone Circle
malem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Could the KI announcement and "circle" activity have anything to do with it? Maybe it's a small campground with rentable mini-cabins. For only $xx.99, enjoy a power nap in the middle of Action Zone! -
^ Flight of Fear is a disorienting ride. Miscounting and/or misidentifying the inversions is very understandable, especially for someone not extensively familiar with roller coasters.

^ The BB Code is generated automatically based on the HTML from CKEditor. Span tags (with a style attribute) are somehow getting into the rich edit field's HTML. Cutting and pasting, even from your own post, could cause this to happen. If the clipboard text gets wrapped in a tag with a specified font size, you'll end up with the corresponding BB Code. For what it's worth, I use Firefox on Linux and Android 99% of the time, and I've never had this happen to me. I haven't tested this across browsers and operating systems.

What browser & device did you type that post on? Did you switch back and forth between WYSIWYG and source editing? Did you restore previously saved content or quote someone's post at any point while editing?

Hm... I'll guess singing animatronics, perhaps in the revamped Action Zone. (eg. the back-for-2014 singing mushrooms at Kings Dominion or the singing trees at Great Wolf Lodge.) Almost certainly wrong, but it seems as likely as anything.

It looks like that thread was deleted, as old announcements sometimes are when their time has passed.

Glad you enjoyed your trip up here; thanks for the report! By the way, Veterans Memorial is slated for demolition later this year. In its place will be an indoor Columbus Zoo satellite facility (contingent on a tax levy this May), a small outdoor ampitheater, a park, and a museum.

Slideshow issue on front page of KIC
malem replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
The underlying problem seems to be that http://KICentral.com/images/SiteImages/Bansheestation.jpg returns a 404. -
Chest pain lasting an hour or more is certainly not good. I would recommend not riding any thrill rides that might cause this until you have spoken with your doctor. From KI's guest assistance guide:

What Live Shows Can We Expect In The 2014 Season?
malem replied to GamesAndRides's topic in Kings Island
Both "Playlist Live!" and "Rock n' Roll Never Forgets" debuted last year. Shows usually last two seasons, so they will presumably be back. You could drive to Valleyfair! -
The Tower host has more guest interaction than most ride operators; I'd guess that's the main reason for it being 18+. Also, in the event of a breakdown, the host would be the only representative with (trapped) passengers for a significant period of time.

I'm just glad to see something there. It means that Action Zone will look less like a sea of concrete.- 216 replies

^ I think that was a general message for everyone who might take pictures, not something directed at you.

Cedar Point's New All Day Dining Plan
malem replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^ Note the "all day dining plan" and "single meal deal" icons next to certain establishments. -
^ Is that why you chose to stay behind and soak us instead on Banshee's announcement day? (You missed out!) I had no particular desire to get wet that day, yet I still rode. I don't think anyone in the KIC group really wanted to get wet on Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown on Closing Day, but that didn't stop people. Sometimes, a ride is worth more than the physical effects it may (or may not) have.

^ I've never heard of that particular issue with CKEditor. Are you sure it's not happening when pasting or quoting text of a different size? Assuming that's not it... have you tried clearing the browser cache? An outdated JavaScript file could be causing something weird to happen.

^ faeriewench might be there! (Entering GWL property to take pictures of KI isn't advisable unless you are there for a legitimate reason. For the benefit of those who don't read stickies, all park property - including the drop-off area - is currently closed to the public and off-limits. </PSA>)

There is a phone number posted inside every restroom in the park, along with instructions to send any concerns/complaints via text message. If something's filthy, let them know. For what it's worth, I didn't see any major restroom cleanliness issues at Kings Island or Cedar Point last season.

Cedar Point's New All Day Dining Plan
malem replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Just so it's mentioned here as well, sharing "unlimited" food intended for a single person (buffets, meal passes, etc) is not ethical. Kings Island will escort anyone doing this out of the park, and presumably Cedar Point will extend the same courtesy. -
Kings Island's ticket vendor offers support for iOS's Passbook, along with a similar function in their own Android/iOS application's mobile ticket store. No Cedar Fair park has announced plans to use it for season passes, as far as I know. (By the way, Passbook is a registered trademark owned by Apple.)

^ According to the park, the mailing address is in (and has always been in) "Kings Island, OH". USPS address correction will incorrectly tell you that the mailing address is in Mason, which does indeed have Kings Island inside its city limits. Before it was in Mason, it was in Deerfield Township - served by the post office of the nearby community of Kings Mills. When Mason annexed the property in the late 1990s, the post office (and assigned "Kings Island" address) apparently did not change.

No. The anti-virus software doesn't need a browser extension to function. Add-ons from security vendors often slow down the browser because they try to check every website before it can load.
