Obligatory reminder that (7oz) cups of water are always available free at food locations that sell drinks in cups. (Remember to drink enough fluids whether you have a drink wristband or not.) Coca-Cola Freestyle machines dispense Powerade and "flavored water" products, which could be handy if you want a break from carbonated beverages but prefer something other than water.

Platinum passholders can bring one friend for $39.99, in case your group includes anyone with a platinum pass. This is available online ($5.99 processing fee applies) or at any admissions window (no processing fee). Select Meijer stores sell discount Cedar Point tickets. In Columbus, prices are $50 for general admission or $52 for general admission with unlimited soft drinks. Soft drinks cost $4-5 each, so the latter is a very good value if you already plan to purchase those. If you are an AAA member, prices may be a few dollars less at an AAA store than at Meijer; call your local AAA club for details. You could look for people looking to resell tickets, on Craigslist for example. Be aware that there is a risk that a ticket purchased from an unofficial channel would not work. (eg. if it is counterfeit or if it was "purchased" with stolen credit card information)

I was a little disappointed in the front rows (in front of Ouimet) for being the only people in the theater to remain seated at the final bow.

Cirque Imagine on their A game today playing for Cedar Fair executives and park managers.

The park is a bit crowded today. Banshee is at 35min.
-
It's easy to attempt an explanation as to why the park was or wasn't crowded. Predicting crowds in advance is another matter entirely.

Souvenir cups from 2014....can they be reused in 2015?
malem replied to dkern11's topic in Kings Island
Also note that 2015 cups have a unique barcode which is scanned for the refill. -
He'd probably want Thunder Road instead. If Thrill_Biscuit had those quarters, you'd just be soaking.

^ Then we ride, bragging to the tower operator about hitting boats with every geyser. Right? -
Kings Island Staying Open Until 11:00p Tonight (6/28/15)
malem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Hopefully they remember not to play the "all the rides and attractions are closing for the night" message that gets played following the non-extended fireworks soundtrack. -
^^^ I have weather prediction cap named after me? I thought Lucas was our weatherman? Driving in from out-of-town for a day trip does leave me pretty much committed, so I do try to anticipate the weather and crowd situation. Of course, Kings Island crowds and Ohio weather are two of the most difficult things there are to predict. ^^ The BAF promotion ran last Sunday as well, supposedly with substantially fewer people in the park. It's certainly a factor, but I'd wager that the weather is a bigger one; we finally got a pleasant day - on a weekend - after a string of heat waves, storms & rain-outs.

A Sharpie would work. Assuming that you're inquiring about printed names, CafePress designs can include custom text. If you'd like a version of that design with a space for a username, ask whoever put it on CafePress. (Dane? Lmhconcepts?) Or you could just verbally tell other members who you are.

The Joys Of Public Play Water
malem replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
In some countries, patrons are actually expected to shower before entering recreational water. In others, any such notices are universally ignored. -
The park would be happy to sell you a jacket, rent you a locker, or upsell you to a charging locker.

Your daily parking receipt is good for at least one same-day re-entry into the lot. If you need to know whether you can re-enter the lot more than once, calling the park would be your best bet: 513-754-5700.

The bring-a-friend-cheap day is tomorrow; SpiritSong was Thursday through today. It's also a cool day, so Soak City isn't the draw it usually is during the summer. Speaking of the weather, 60s are a bit cool for complete drenchings on WWC. I don't suppose that's a deterrent? For those coming (and/or staying) late, don't forget that the park is open until midnight today.

Accident on Alton Towers Smiler
malem replied to Bennett's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Tragically, a second victim has lost a leg. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/alton-towers-crash-vicky-balch-has-right-leg-amputated-weeks-after-smiler-disaster-that-badly-injured-five-10349697.html -
I still remember eagerly awaiting to return home from Paramount's Kings Island in the late 90s so that I could visit the "new" www.pki.com in Netscape over 28.8kbps dial-up Internet. (My phone line was noisy as a kid; I was stuck at that speed until we got cable Internet.) As a redirect to www.visitkingsisland.com, It's been up and down over the years. It hasn't worked for the past few months, which has finally caused me to start typing "visi" instead of "pki" when I want to find the park's website.

In your example, the combo meal includes 2 slices of pizza. The combo price usually isn't much less than buying the same items individually, but it should never be more. (Not to say that a pricing error isn't possible.) Of course, gold/platinum passholders save 10% on most food purchases.

Email me the scribbles. It could include the TR.

The Edge of the Millennium Tour 6/21-6/24 (Hershey/Dorney)

Thanks for the report; glad you had a great time! -
^ There is a theme selector at the bottom of each forum page. Click "Change theme". I personally pick "IP Board", since I prefer reading text against light backgrounds. Regarding the lost posts, I got back most of the recent trip reports from web caches and reposted them. People spend a lot of time writing those, so it was good to restore them. Dane increased the frequency & longevity of backups, so hopefully content won't be lost going forward. Stuff happens; it could have been worse.

In Firefox, search the page (CTRL+F) for the word "shark". If the thread is one of the listed (& cached) pages, click the link to view it. In Chrome, there's actually an easier way. Go to chrome://cache/ in the urlbar and search the page (CTRL+F) for the word "shark". For Internet Explorer, use Windows file search (Start->Search) to search all files in that folder for a few words of your trip report. (eg. "cleaning company missed")

With Firefox, go to about:cache (in the browser) and click the link to disk cache. With Chrome on Windows, search in all files in %localappdata%\google\chrome With IE on Windows, go to Internet Options->General->Browsing History->Settings->View FIles

shark6495 on June 21: Just returned from WDW, may do a write up in a bit. Not sure yet. But the initial reaction to everything down there from the possible changes to FP+ is all positive... FP+: It doesnt really remove any spontaneity from the trip at all, IMO. We had a group of 6 adults and 2 kiddos. We knew what rides we wanted to ride so we FP+ those early before arrival. Once we used those 3 up we would hit a kiosk on our route and schedule another ride for us to use. I think at Magic Kingdom we used 7-8 FP+ rides. Only ride we did not ride was Big Thunder Mountain because we were exhausted. Dinner reservations: These came in handy as our longest wait for a sit down dinner was 10 minutes. Good choice here. EPCOT: Needs, something. Either more shows or more rides. The shows seem to be scheduled around the same time in each land which hurts a traveler. You finish one show and you miss the next. EPCOT is a good visit, dont get me wrong, but having left EPCOT and if we return next year it is not a must do. Future Expansion for Avatar Land: Love the idea. Having spent part of the day in Dino Land which is centered around Dinosaurs or Asia with its center on a snow monster, Avatar Land would not take away from the real world experience of the rest of the park. Plus the safari ride is top notch! Hollywood Studios: You can tell this park is in transition. But a Star Wars Land and a Pixar Land would fit well into what the studios is coming now... Meal Plan: had a basic table and QS meal plan. By the middle of the week our appetites shrank considerably and it become just too much food. But it was nice to have all of the food purchased before we arrived... It was very nice to be able to leave the hotel room and only need to take a phone and the magic band. Magic Band held all of our data on it and we could charge to the room for purchases as needed...
