Since drones can't (yet) be legally used for commercial purposes in the US, presumably these photos were taken by an amateur operator and shared with Greg and/or the park.

^ There's no condition about the ID being "local". From visitkingsisland.com: Much of Indiana is part of Kings Island's market. Many from this region go to college far away. A "local" requirement would not go over well.

With a student ID at the gate, it's $29.99 Friday nights. If you buy and process a new 2015 season pass, you can get in once this fall for free.

The front row of the car has more legroom, which is important for the taller among us. In back rows on Vortex, my knees hit the seat in front of me.
-
And welcome, by the way!

You'll find lots of differing opinions on this; here's an older topic with many of them: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28348-what-is-your-seat-of-choice-on-kings-islands-coasters The only rides at Kings Island that I have a clear seat preference on are Vortex (7th car, front row), Invertigo (front/back), and Banshee (front row).

If you think that Walmart is scary, try going there on Black Friday! (Actually, don't.) ^ Wishing you luck on that day!

It looks like they fixed it. You might have this thread to thank for them noticing it.

pki.com, visitkingsisland.com, cedarpoint.com and cedarfair.com are all registered as "private" domains, meaning that the identity of the owner is hidden behind a third party company. The third party company ("Perfect Privacy, LLC" in Jacksonville, FL) is listed as the owner instead of Cedar Fair or its affiliated companies. For a publicly traded company to have their primary web domains registered this way is bizarre.

Haunt Saturday. Columbus Day weekend. Nice weather. The park is probably very crowded.

Vortex acting werid when I went last. (last weekend)
malem replied to JubJester's topic in Trip Reports
All rides at Kings Island undergo regular maintenance. Some parts, such as the wheels of roller coaster trains, are replaced periodically. If you think that a ride sounds different than normal, definitely inform a ride operator. -
For what it's worth, the National Weather Service doesn't currently have thunderstorms in Friday evening's forecast. I don't trust the forecast this far out; I probably won't make a decision until Friday morning.
-
^ That's hard to predict. Haunt Friday crowds are very dependent on weather. I'd recommend avoiding this Saturday and Sunday for sure. Are you buying Fright Lane and/or Fast Lane? I'll probably visit one more Friday this season, but I'm also not sure which date. Rain chances have improved for this Friday night, and there's a "fulfilling" competition that might be worth witnessing. (I might visit Stricker's Grove this Sunday as well, so I would otherwise be inclined to go on a different Friday to spread things out and avoid Columbus Day weekend entirely.) Haunt is much better when cold & rainy weather thins out the crowds.

Dorney Park Going To Plarr?
malem replied to Leland Wykoff's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
If a park ever was sold, I wonder how it would work out for existing platinum passholders from that park. (eg. in the case of Dorney, you.) -
Dorney Park Going To Plarr?
malem replied to Leland Wykoff's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It works on mobile for me. Dorney named a haunt "Madame Plarr's Chamber of Horrors", referencing the last name of the park's founder, and the family was not intrigued. Perhaps they got the idea from "G. A. Boekling's Eerie Estate". Which actually was his residence. -
I renewed my season pass and purchased 2015 dining on Friday night. The Guest Services associate asked if I wanted to stay with platinum (I said yes), scanned my pass, swiped my card and handed me a receipt in under a minute.

^ Guests who purchase these probably aren't the primary market for Halloween Haunt, but keeping them happy protects the business of the people they came with. (i.e. the "veto vote") There is a cost associated with marketing & selling necklaces and with getting "monstors" to respond appropriately. It's a highly specialized service, so building it into everyone's admission doesn't necessarily make sense. Many guests will look at this as $5 very well spent. If you want to avoid scares without paying the $5, perhaps you could find similar-looking glowsticks online and make your own necklace(s).
-
It works for me. The image is a sign advertising "no boo" necklaces on sale for $5. They're worn to tell monsters that you don't want any "Boo!"s. Sam told us to get one for ohiocolts last night on our second trip through Slaughterhouse Reloaded. Yesterday was apparently the first night for them. I didn't see any, though.

The wait time estimates seemed accurate enough after the park emptied out due to heavy rain. Displayed times were 4-5 minutes for Diamondback, Delirium, and The Beast. The length of one cycle seems like a reasonable lower bound. I do wonder how they're getting the data.

^ All mazes are indoors except CornStalkers and Tombstone Terror-Tory. There are also outdoor scare zones located on park midways. Outdoor attractions do close for inclement weather, but they reopen when conditions allow. Rainy & cold days can be great days to visit, as crowds are greatly influenced by weather. Just make sure you're dressed to be comfortable tonight when it's in the lower 40°s with a chance of rain - there's no re-entry into the park.

Friday: 6pm Saturday/Sunday: 11am, with gold pass early rides at 10:30am.

^ See the meetups forum: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/forum/50-KICentral-meet-ups/ A number of KIC members should be there tomorrow. Look for us near the front gate before the park opens. Say hi!

This makes admission with Fright Lane just $25 or $32 more than a discounted admission ticket alone. A good deal, for sure, though it diminishes the value of using a season pass for admission to Haunt.
