  1. I got mine yesterday. The lanyard is sweet and I like how the name badge has your home park listed on it.
  2. Yah, count me among the minority as well... I'm mean, I'm all for the park wanting to increase the hourly-capacity of what is going to be a very popular ride and wanting to maximize profits while doing it, but does it really have to be done THIS way... I bring a small Nike bag whenever I go to the park... it rides with me on all of the sit-down coasters except Diamondback, and when I do have to place it in a bin, I do so as quickly as possible and I am back in my seat before some guests have even started walking past the loading gates. What I am not liking is the stereotype that ALL people who carry bags are always the ones whole significantly slow down lines. Most of the time when I get impatient while waiting for a train to depart, more often than not it is because either a "large" guest is having trouble fitting into his/her seat or because of some lackadaisical ride ops who insist on excessive chatter and speils rather than putting up the "ALL CLEAR!" when they can... I think another reason that I am dissapointed this is happening is probably because well...it's just that on the last huge, ~$25 million B&M coaster Cedar Fair installed (Gatekeeper) they had bins where you can put your stuff no questions asked. Gatekeeper eats riders FINE despite having storage bins, so why couldn't Banshee do the same? I expect to ride Banshee A LOT this summer, and it would just be so much more convenient for me if Banshee would have bins, instead of having to solve some elaborate puzzle of when I should or shouldn't carry my bag each time I want to ride Banshee... And in case you're wondering why I carry a bag, it's not because of a medical condition or anything, it's mainly because I don't trust my cargo pockets enough to safely hold my phone, camera, wallet, and gold pass. No matter how much I reassure myself, there is always a hint of doubt whether they will stay in or not, and thus it detracts from the overall experience. Even if I did have cargo shorts with zipper pockets, I still wouldn't like them as there's a good chance that either my camera or phone would get damaged while riding, especially on the more rougher ones. Oh yeah and a fannypack? Um, sorry if this sounds arrogant, but no...just no...rant over. (I guess I wouldn't mind this as much if there was some way you could buy an "all-year" locker pass for $25-$35. That actually would be pretty nice. I could just quickly scan it each time I need to use a locker, and not have to fish out $2 from my bag everytime I ride Banshee...)
  3. A list of DEROGATORY coaster names: Abominator Back Yard Stunt Coaster California Dreamin' Craptor Diamondstack Dream! El Boro Expedition NEVER-est Fatman: The Ride Fiddler's Revenge Flying Ace Ne'er Do-Well Chase Gatesleeper Great American Dream Machine Great Bore Hephaestus' Chariot In-Laws, Run! InTRIMidator Invertiblow Iron Draggin' Judge Roy Dream Kind Bender Kinda' Ka The Least Lull Mountain Meek Streak Millennium Forceless Mule Throttle Plunderhawk Pooperman: Ultimate Blight The Racist Rolling Blunder X1/2 A good portion of these I came up with on my own.
  4. Millie's first drop actually, among other things, is one of the most underwhelming parts of the ride IMO. Even when I ride in the very back, I still never seem to experience very much accelerational forces (the "pulley" feeling) as compared to other backseat rides like Diamondback, Magnum, etc... I guess it has to do with the fact that since the train is already traveling so fast via the cable lift, it does not accelerate as much going down the first drop as it does on traditional chain lift coasters. So reliabity is why Millennium Force continues to win the Golden Ticket Awards? I learn the darnest things here. No. When did I say that? All I was saying was that reliability MAY be, among other things, ONE of the reasons that there are more B&Ms than INTAMINS in the top 50. That doesn't mean that I am unaware that the GTA's are primarily based on advertising and Cedar Point fanboy-ism, which is why Millie is always #1.
  5. Banshee. And I assume this would be the exact same response to this question for a QUITE a few other people on this site as well.
  6. 15 intanims scored in the top 50 steel coasters for the golden ticket awards 23 b&m's scored in the top 50 as well in the top 5 steel coasters for the golden ticket awards intanim scored first and second while b&m scored third and fourth. I think one of the reasons for that is that you have to understand that the panelists who vote in GTA's rankings told to rate their coasters based on overall experience (which greatly includes reliability) rather than just the riding experience alone. The Mitch Hawker poll for instance, would be pretty much 99% based on the riding experience alone, as the ballots are sent in by any random person, which explains why INTAMINS succeed so well in that poll. But then again, one could argue that neither the GTA's nor Hawker polls mean anything.
  7. But as Sammy Hagar once said in a certain popular song of theirs, "Why put it off another day?"
  8. Hmmm, if most of us are KK-Realists, does that make the people who fully believe that KK will succeed KK-Romantics? But what about people who only think KK will succeed if the forces of nature let it (no tornados or horrible storms to destroy the park)? Does that make them KK-Naturalists? Apparently, I've paid good attention in English class so far this year...
  9. Some names I've liked: Maverick Voyage Raven Legend Beast Banshee Bat Patriot Nitro Viper Shockwave American Eagle Great American Scream Machine Revolution X x x x x 2 2 2 2 Names that have too many syllables if said in their entirety: Magnum (XL-200) Hypersonic (XLC) Volcano (:The Blast Coaster) and almost every kiddie coaster ever created 2
  10. However if I'm not mistaken I think I did hear Nightmare at Haunt one time, but I'm pretty sure it was just coming from the 96 rock van and not through the main park speakers.
  11. ^Although I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, trust me, I'm sure that MANY parents will be riding Banshee with their kids. After all, isn't that Cedar Fair's plan going forward from now on? Building rides that parents will want to ride with their kids, and more importantly, not because of their kids? Either way, I wouldn't want that song played in Banshee's que anyway as I think it's a little overrated. A much better selection from A7x in my opinion would be Almost Easy or Afterlife. Now a song that I would absolutely LOVE to be played during Haunt, but would never happen as most would consider it too "underground" for the GP to listen to, is Second Heartbeat... This song just kicks @$$!
  12. February 3rd, 2008 was a very tragic day...

  13. Just...whatever you do, do NOT click the icon with the little trashcan on it!!! XD Oh what a setback that would be...
  14. Oops. It looks like I was one of the ones who accidently did that. It sent a registration confirmation to my e-mail but I still need to pay the $9.00. How should I do that without filling out another registration on the website?
  15. I am going to miss that old circle.
  16. I have a feeling that when I finally visit Magic Mountain someday I will be more overwhelmed than I was when I visited Cedar Point for the first time.
  17. Hold the beach, resort, and whole "destination park" thing. The only way I want Kings Island to imitate Cedar Point would be by getting a blitz-like coaster someday, and it doesn't necessarily even need to be designed by INTAMIN either... EDIT: Oh yeah, and getting a couple of more flat rides at KI sure couldn't hurt. (And neither would a Giga, as long as it's more exciting than MIllie.)
  18. Another football season over, and once again another "empty" feeling for the New England Patriots...

  19. Another football season, and once again another "empty" feeling...

  20. ^Am I the only one that kind of cheered but also had an empty feeling at the same time when Son of Beast was so crudely imploded in that teaser video?
  21. Where did it say that the SOB station is being torn down?
  22. Darn, I was really looking forward to this...
  23. I know this probably isn't going to happen, but I would really LOVE to see the map return to its art style that it had during the mid Paramount-early Cedar Fair years. I believe the last year this was featured was 2010. -- Don't know why but 2005 was my favorite my map EVER! I guess I liked the little descriptions it gave for some on the rides on both the bottom and top the map.
  24. ^^^And if you want to be in for a REAL wild ride, try seat 1-3 (Car 1, Row 3). *Highly potent, use sparingly.
  25. Yes. Unfortunately this is true. I think it's safe to say that most teenagers WOULD, no matter how unfitting, prefer to listen to mainstream garbage that is spewed daily on the radio rather than "Rivertown-y" style music while standing in line for The Beast. In all honesty, I would prefer no music.
