  1. That, my friend, is all they care about.
  2. They sold a whole lot Fastlane passes last Sunday. Our guests had a great time and enjoyed the low ticket prices. Sadly, the same cannot be said about the food prices. Taco Bell was thankful for the business at closing time though
  3. If you go mid day, the crowd should be low. We got on Back Lot twice in less than an hour last Sunday. Once the Water Park closes...watch out.
  4. Yesterday they were selling the tickets right outside the entrance. It was actually a very simple and painless process. The park employees, for the most part, were great yesterday as well. I will not set foot anywhere near the park on those two Sundays, lol.
  5. Aside from the "trash" we had a great time. The crowd was minimal while Soak City was open. Diamondback was having issues which added to the frustration. Was on 2 train operations for a bit. While we were in line they decided to put the third train back on. It didn't take long for the ride to go down and require removal of the third train...again. Green Train if I remember correctly. That process garnered quite the reaction from people in line, lol.
  6. Attended our first one of these yesterday with the Wife's Sister and her family. Bad move and it will never happen again. Do people actually bring their friends or do they just buy tickets for whomever they can find to make a little profit for themselves? Yesterday was the worst crowd we have ever experienced at KI. I am not talking about crowd size either. While it was a big crowd it was hands down the most rude/crude group of people one could imagine. Security/Park Police were busy to say the least. Those of you upset by line cutting and Personal Space issues would have fainted. The best part was having people walk straight to the front of a packed food line and place an order. The fact that the employee would fill that order was amazing. We have not many visits yet this year and are hoping this was in fact due to BAF and is not a sign of the clientele one should expect at the park all season.
  7. Yeah, the FB pics show some bushes being taken out with a Trackhoe. Kind of "Overkill" in my eyes. At least they have a "Future Home of" Billboard in place, lol. The Theme Park itself is said to part of a 640 Acre Complex.
  8. Everything I found online says it opens in 2015. I think they need to hurry, lol. Edit: the FB page makes mention of delays being due to a larger than expected amount of "Government Hurdles" to clear.
  9. Open in 2015? According to the pics on their FB page they have barely even started land clearing. It also says to be prepared to visit the Water Park and they were apparently in Wisconsin doing research.
  10. Lol. I only had my phone with me down there, typing anything long winded is a major pain on it. There are cheap options at BGT, however, one of them is NOT the Smokehouse. The drinks are full strength and way cheaper than KI, to boot. As for Gwazi, that ride was terrible. Almost missed it because it was down, just stood up to walk away and we heard the Gates Open command. I rode it last and had a terrible headache due to not eating a proper breakfast. This ride nearly killed me, lol. Not surprised that one side is already shut down and there are rumors of the rides upcoming demise. It just does not fit in with the rest of the rides in the park.
  11. Kings Island already has 3 inverted coasters, your hypothetical addition would make 4 I said KI "Second B&M Inverted" coaster. Example would be if KI had both Banshee and Raptor. Doesn't matter WHO makes it, the park has enough of them.
  12. Gotta agree 100% with that....unless they start serving Papa Johns.
  13. As I said before, doing both isn't that expensive, if one is smart about it. Each park sells tickets for the other at a very low price. Both parks are well worth the money and offer plenty of rides not available at KI. If faced with only doing one park, the best choice for the OP's requirements in BGT. We had all of the rides at SeaWorld done within two hours. We did spend all day in the park though due to the shows/exhibits. However, if your kids do not like "going upside down" you are in trouble either way because both of the big Coasters at SW and 5 out of 6 of them at BGT have inversions. Many of which are multiple. I had to ride all but 2 alone, lol.
  14. Watery Chili, yuck. Chili that includes anything other than Meat, Spices and Beans.....yuck. Noodles in your Chili......should be a criminal offense.
  15. My local Steak N Shake is terribl and consistently has low/near failing health scores. That alone keeps me away from their restaurants....nationwide. Edit: One more note to any KI people reading this. STOP watering down the sodas. Less than 4 bucks a cup everywhere we went this past week and all were full strength.....even the Lemonade. We had an 8 piece Chicken dinner with unlimited refills for 30 bucks.
  16. Yeah, no designing anything that the park already has.....especially multiple times. Diversity is a wonderful thing that should not be feared.
  17. The park needs a good dark ride and a Mouse.
  18. Having just visited both parks this past week, I say your best bet is Busch Gardens. We had an awesome time at SW but they are lacking in the ride department and thrill ride seekers will be bored quick. Terp has it right, Kumba is a ride that must not be missed. The speed, the inversions, it was amazing. Sadly my headache was in full force by the time I rode it and I only got one ride. The rides at BGT are all awesome, well minus the horrible Gwazi thing. That said, Manta @ SeaWorld is also a ride that should not be missed, you will never want to ride Firehawk again. Buy the tickets for BGT and while you are there purchase the "enjoy a day at SeaWorld" tickets for 40 bucks and visit there the next day. If you love Inversions you are going to be in Heaven. If you just want to go up and down hills via Hypers and Gigas you will be disappointed.
  19. Now we're talking. Nothing like a fresh, frosty mug of A&W. So there is a good BEER that is drank for the taste
  20. Oddly enough, even with lower prices, we still heard plenty of comments about how the All Day plan is "totally worth it".
  21. Exactly. I know there are major differences between a Seasonal park and a Year Round and comparing the two is silly. That said we were prepared for sticker shock based upon the area we were in alone. I must say the shock never came. Food prices at BGT, Legoland and SeaWorld are not bad at all. Two of the parks have All Day options that MAKE SENSE, rather than cause confusion. They are more akin to real world operations. Sit down dining is of course higher priced while the quicky joints are lower. One should expect to pay higher than normal at a park but not insanely high. The people that I know that do not care for KI do so for one reason, pricing. They would faint if they saw it now.
  22. Here we go with another discussion about nasty Beer. That garbage doesn't make anything taste better. I refuse to believe that people drink Beer for the TASTE, lol. That is like saying people go to Hooters because the Wings taste good.
  23. KI could use a course in the K.I.S.S. concept.
  24. Nothing this park does right will get noticed, when ANYTHING even remotely negative happens, it will make the headlines.
