I dread the number of posts I'll have to read when I get back from the park Thursday night.
-
We have now topped 12,000 posts. Can we reach 13,000 before the announcement?
-
That's the only commercial in that series that I actually like. And I love it.
-
I was going to say something about 199 feet being a bad move from a PR perspective, but I see that I was beaten to it. Just more evidence that The Bat is a diversion.
-
Sigh. Screamscape is NOT a reliable source. Period.

Upon further examination of the site, I agree with you. Rob Decker even said during Gatekeeper's announcement that they liked the response they got from that "error". Some evidence: The orange background of the page, named BAT-31.jpg, is a photoshopped copy of Gatekeeper's page's background, complete with Gatekeeper's rendering. Examining the page source, it was modified with a WYSIWYG editor. Other Cedar Fair sites have not been. (cross-threading!) From a generic ride page, the only things changed are a few images, some of the placeholder text, and the orange-ified Gatekeeper background. Again, with a WYSIWYG editor. There's no way this is related to the real site which will presumably launch Thursday night. Cedar Fair is more professional than that. How can you tell it was done with a WYSIWYG editor? (I'm not disputing it, just wondering what tipped you off.) Keep in mind that I can no longer see the pages.

Somebody hit the wrong button.

Let me just say this: I don't care what anyone else thinks, I think that Korbin has awesome shoes and an awesome shirt! Thanks for the report!
-
Or the coaster is so incredible that they are giving it the show it deserves.
-
Thanks for the report so far! Have fun and keep us updated!
-
I don't believe I've ever ridden a coaster that was truly bad, but there are a couple that were boring. Those would be ShieKra and GateSleeper.
-
The Voyage, which has the most votes so far, has steel supports.

Can you remove those posts? Or who do we ask to remove them? You can ask an admin to remove them by clicking the report link on one of them. I am not and never will be an admin here because I would be too trigger-happy with the ban button.

They retired from playing in 1996 and 2001 respectively, but if you believe Wikipedia, Davis currently works in the front office.

This is not an official release, just the guesses of the one guy who runs the site and whatever random person he decided was "reliable" this week. Never trust Screamscape. If the park wanted to release the themes, they would do so through their own website or their own Facebook or Twitter account, not through a site notorious for its unreliablity. So again, were you explicitly given permission to post that information? The answer to that question is most likely "no".

Nobody likes a player cheater that's about to be suspended for the rest of the current season and all of next season. But yeah, that partially redeems you. Now I only 90% hate you.

There are bunches! You can see many of their trademarks here: http://www.trademarkia.com/company-cedar-fair-lp-222594-page-1-2 The Fastpay one intrigues me. Could we be seeing something like Holicash at Cedar Fair parks in the future? Edit: Apparently Dorney Park is already test marketing this. Interesting. I doubt I'd use it, but more available amenities can never be bad. Looks like you found it, but here's a link to the thread on Dorney's FastPay: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27469-dorney-parkwallet-free/

I think there is a lot you don't know. Firstly, construction is nowhere near finished on the new ride. There is no way it would be open for this years Haunt.Secondly, I don't think KI is going to open a roller coaster just for the Haunt and not the rest of season. Thirdly, all the scary theming serves one of two purposes: 1. Hint at the ride being called Banshee (do your research on this) OR 2. Throw us WAY off the path of what this coaster is going to be. My friend said the ride was going to be called "Intamin." Or something like that. And why would they be putting SCARY stuff in the Action Zone if its not for the Halloween Haunt? Ok here's a run down. The ride is rumored to be called Banshee because Cedar Fair got trademark licensing to use that name for an amusement park ride and souvenirs. All that scary stuff has to do with the Celtic mythological belief about the Banshee. The Banshee is rumored to look like an old hag, hence the old hag looking scarecrow thing behind the fence. She is rumored to appear right before or right after someone dies, hence the celtic cross tombstones. She is also rumored to screech right before or right after someone dies, and that screech is rumored to sound something like a cross between a woman's shriek and the moan of an owl, hence the owl figurines in the trees.... Like I said, do your research, read back posts on this thread, you will learn a lot. I learned all this by doing research and following this thread But what are the "NO CAMPING" signs for? That's the only thing I haven't figured out yet.

You didn't know that's typical?? People have no sense, and don't realize cars were built to be able to handle bumps in the road!!! They would rather drive over the lines and brake to 1/2 a mph to go over a 1/16 inch deep pothole Well actually even if they are small, pot holes can really jack up a vehical, it can pop tires, tear up suspension. My source for this is that i am a mechanic and ive seen pot holes do some damage to cars, including mine, i thought it was small so i didnt care if i hit it, next thing j know is i have a flat Indeed. Driving through Five Points intersection in Fairborn last year, the pickup truck in front of me hit a pothole with his trailer and instantly blew a tire on it. Potholes are not good on tires.

Yes, it was.

That was from the KIC Revival event on June 15 of this year.

Candy: SweeTarts Desert: Sahara... oh, you meant dessert! In that case, cheesecake.
