In October 2011 and the same month in 2012 (the two times I've been to Stricker's), I'm 90% certain they were. What date are you using as a reference? They are the single position buzz bars. I took note, as I am a fan of those and the air time they provide me, unlike the ratcheting ones that I have to be stapled into. Yep. Somebody linked to a picture of them earlier confirming it, but it was lost in the server change. I believe it was on RCDB.

Obviously my post was lost because I was slow getting the new server, so I'll comment again: I would love to have KIC available on Tapatalk. I already use Tapatalk for another forum I'm on, and it works wonderfully, much better than the stock mobile version here. If you could get Tapatalk set up, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Beast and Firehawk are the Plus rides. Diamondback is available on the regular Fast Lane pass.

Stricker's doesn't use orange lap bars, but a black single position bar. On Teddy Bear, yes, but I believe Tornado has standard ratcheting lap bars.

Avoid Saturday at all costs during the Halloween season. The park will be absolutely packed. Are you going for Halloween Haunt, the kids' event, or both? If at all possible, do Haunt on Friday night and the kids' event on Sunday. Both of those days will be far, far less busy than Saturday, plus the cost of admission on those days is lower.

I haven't ridden very many PTC trains, but I have noticed that the ones with black lap bars that I remember (primarily the three at HW), when the bar is pushed down to a "click", it will then spring back up an inch or two, providing a bit of breathing room and helping prevent stapling. The orange lap bars we have at KI don't do that; when you push them down to a click, they stay right there. I can't for the life of me remember what lap bars the woodies at CP or Stricker's have, or what kind of trains Gwazi at BGT has (those five parks account for all of my wooden coasters).

Diamondback for steel, The Beast for wood. I don't even attempt to compare steel coasters to wood ones because they're totally different animals.

Nothing wrong with that; walking is great exercise! You should see the way I go around Cedar Point when I'm alone... Ha. I do that too. Glad I'm not the only one!

That meetup was canceled.

How to get a signature picture
jcgoble3 replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
For signatures, it's just like posting any other photo. You have to upload it to a third-party hosting site and embed it in your signature using the BBCode provided. The only images you upload directly to KIC are avatars. -
The old one is coming back. The admins said it was being cleaned up and will be brought back when that is done.

And why is The Racer not on the list?
-
Good advice. In general, start at the back of the park and work your way forward, because the majority of the public does the opposite. This will also give your tired feet a shorter walk to the car at the end of the day.

Apparently you crossed a line if a mod deleted your post. GAME OVER Indeed, his post was deleted: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/27275-starting-to-decode-2014/page-238 The game is indeed over. HTCO, you owe all of us an apology. He owes us nothing. Yes, he does owe us an apology. To be clear, my problem with is NOT the possibility that his comments led to someone getting arrested for trespassing. That's the fault of the person who trespassed. No, my problem with him is twofold. First, he outright trolled us, abusing his status as an established, trusted member of this site to do so, and did so to the point that the mods saw fit to delete his posts on the subject. Second, after he was finally called out on it and it was revealed this his posts had been deleted, as fryoj pointed out, his first words to the rest of us were an insult. THOSE two issues are my problems with him, and he owes us an apology for both. Until then, he has lost all credibility and respect in my eyes.

What ride would you not ride at Kings island.
jcgoble3 replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in Kings Island
I'd pull the cord for you, but I won't be back to the park until sometime in August. You can know when you're going to drop if you know a little trick. -
Mantis, 1996. Raptor, 1994. Some say Gatekeeper, 2013 (I disagree, though). Those three come to mind immediately. I was born in 1987. Correct early 90's. BTR is the most intense b&m ever made and it was their first invert,,, 1996 is not "early 90's [sic]". For that matter, neither is 2013.

Perhaps it's a forceful B&M. Those do exist.
-
Idiots. I wonder if this trespassing incident is in anyway related to the trolling last night?
-
Yup, complete with fanny pack.
-
Where, and more importantly when, was that picture taken?
-
I'm not believing it without further proof. At the very least, somebody give us a photo of the NDA itself.
-
At least that's what Jr for Birdy claims:

Unless they make you sign an NDA.
