KI's website now requires Flash for ticket/pass purchases as well. (EDIT: I see CP's site also does this. I suspect it may be a chainwide thing.) Assuming you're referring to KI's website, they are there, just not easy to find. From the KI homepage, click "Season Passes" at the top, then click on the ad about the Gold Pass Easy Pay plan. Wait for the Flash pop-up to load, then rollover the "Season Passes" tab and select Platinum.

Aha! Dr. Math says this: Also, eHow says this: So from the perspective of the most common definition, SIX is correct in their announcement of a "tenfold increase", but Terpy's viewpoint is not invalid either. eHow goes on to say that "professionals will generally avoid using" such terms, which is SIX's only real error here.

I understand that, I'm just saying that that's not the definition I've always heard and used. The definition I've always heard is that a "tenfold increase" means "an increase to ten times what it was before" (e.g. from 6 cents to 60 cents), not "an increase of ten times what it was before", which is what Terpy is using (and in this case, would mean a new dividend of 66 cents). I've never heard the latter until this thread.

Wow, that dolphin got some height on that jump. Wonder if he can dunk a basketball?

Dollywood's Wild Eagle nears completion

It wasn't embedding because of the extra parameter in the URL ("feature=player_detailpage&"). What you need is the basic URL without any extra parameters, which can always be obtained by clicking "Share" below the video, then "Options" and "Long link", and finally copy the URL out of the text box. Then just paste that in the post box here, and the forum software will automatically embed it, like this: -
For me, the round trip to KI requires roughly 2.5 gallons of gas. That comes out of not the "local parks" section of my budget (which is for meals and purchases at the park), but the credit card portion of my budget. In the summer, visiting KI twice a month, I typically have to fill up twice a month for about 8–9 gallons each time. At $3.50/gallon, that's about $60/month in gas, which is within my $80/month allowance for credit card expenditures (I insist on being able to pay off the card in full every month whenever possible). If gas goes up to $6.50/gallon, I would then be looking at around $110/month in gas. Something would have to get cut, and unfortunately KI would be the likely victim.

*looks at the brochure again* Yes, you're reading it correctly.

Unless my amateur detective skills are failing me (which they often do), I believe there is a problem with that post. Could it a wrong URL?

I don't know, but its page on the KI website doesn't advertise Fast Lane on the right-hand side like all the ones I listed do.
-
Out of curiosity, I just went through all the ride pages the KI website to make a list of all 24 Fast Lane rides for 2012. Here's what I came up with: 1. Backlot Stunt Coaster 2. Zephyr 3. Monster 4. Adventure Express 5. Scrambler 6. Shake, Rattle & Roll 7. Congo Falls 8. Eiffel Tower 9. Dodgem 10. Boo Blasters on Boo Hill 11. Diamondback 12. The Beast 13. Delirium 14. Drop Tower 15. Firehawk 16. Flight of Fear 17. Invertigo 18. The Racer 19. Vortex 20. WindSeeker 21. Surf Dog 22. Race for Your Life Charlie Brown 23. Flying Ace Aerial Chase 24. ??????????? Yeah, I only found 23 ride pages with the Fast Lane notice on them. Did I miss one, or is the 24th FL ride still a mystery? Or is it Son of Beast? (Yeah, yeah, I know, but somebody had to be the first to mention it.) Anybody here know?

In today's sue-happy world, the parents could have easily sued for some ridiculously large sum of money. I applaud them for not doing so and going to the Department of Justice instead. As for the requirement that you have to have a hand to ride, if there really was a safety-related reason why riders needed to hold on to the restraint, then they wouldn't let people put their hands up. To that end, I feel the requirement in question is discrimination.

^That link only works on an iPhone or iPod touch. On a computer, it just gives you a screen telling you to load it on their iPhone app.
-
At 0:32 in the video, a sign at the lower left of the screen advertises "Timber Tantrum" as 1,250 feet tall.

Yes. On August 6 (the day I tried the Fast Lane for myself), there were, on average, six to nine Fast Laners per red train (FLers were not put on the yellow train due to the configuration of the queues). As Fast Lane becomes more well known and is tweaked, that number may change.
-
I just noticed that Fast Lane passes are not available for opening day. Why? I was planning on buying one for that day to bypass the lines. Now I might not go that day at all.
-
Yes, I'm positive. I distinctly remember going to the waterpark during the week before Memorial Day each of the last two years.
-
That's been fixed back to its previous rating of 5.
-
Neat article. I'd love to see the page 14 continuation about the "lucky soul" that gets to be the first rider if you have that.

http://www.visitking...-city-waterpark I notice that the waterpark is opening a week later than it has in previous years. At least the last two years, it opened two Saturdays before Memorial Day, but this year they're waiting until the holiday weekend. Is this just to make room for the Gold Pass preview weekend, or are there other reasons behind the change? (Terpy, I'm aware that the answer to that is "yes". Shut up. )
