  1. Note "machines". Plural. Sounds like we're getting more than one.
  2. Nice photos! I especially like the one of the boneyard. If I'm not mistaken, we went through that area during the tour at the GOCC Holiday Party last December. Most (if not all) of that stuff is gone, I believe. Action Theater's motion seats now reside there, if they haven't been moved in the past three months.
  3. What if they bought the GPS from Amazon?
  4. You are partially correct, but you're still missing my point. Paying more for higher quality is one thing, but I still expect to get what I pay for. Can you say with a straight face that a 32 oz. non-refillable soft drink is worth $3.99 + tax? Do you honestly believe that a six-inch Subway sub without half the bread options found in regular stores or the option to have it hot is worth $5.99 + tax? Can you honestly say that a basic hamburger is worth $7, even with fresh never frozen patties? I don't think so. The point is that while, yes, prices are generally higher inside the amusement park/ballpark/movie theater, that's not a reason to commit felony assault on the money compartment of my fanny pack. They can make money without raising the prices to preposterous levels. If the prices come down to reasonable levels (let's say $2.50, maybe $3 for that 32 oz. drink; $4.50 for the six-inch subs that sell as a $5 footlong outside of the park, which are $3.75 at my local Subway; and $4, maybe $4.50 for the hamburger), then I'd be willing to pay the little bit extra for the convenience of not having to leave the park. Until then, I'll take my money elsewhere.
  5. Nice, but will we get reasonable prices as well? If the prices stay where they've been at for the past couple years, I will continue eating outside the park. $6 for a six-inch sub and $4 for a large drink is still preposterous (and those are just examples). The prices will need to come down to get me to eat in the park.
  6. Just a guess, but I think it's merely a mash-up (or portmanteau, if you prefer more technical terms) of the words "invert" and "vertigo".
  7. Really? There was actually a "show" aspect to it? I thought the whole thing was just "look at this display of unmaintained lights that we think are pretty while listening to generic Charlie Brown music". I never knew there was ever anything resembling a "show".
  8. Got an email from Don about this year's event. Don confirmed that The Racer will once again be the "featured ride" and also said some "new things" will be incorporated, including behind-the-scenes tours and last ride of the night on The Beast. More details are still to come.
  9. Nice video! I like the music, too. Only 47 more days until Opening Day!
  10. Sorry about that! I've fixed it so it won't start automatically anymore. Thanks.
  11. LOL, this is the year my friend gets a pass for the beach. They posted on Facebook that season pass holders should email them at thebeachwaterpark@northlich.com with your contact information and the number of passes purchased and management will get in touch.
  12. Nice story, but please don't embed autoplay videos. Those are among the most annoying things in the world. A simple link to the original site would be much better; that way, we have the choice of whether to watch it or not and, more importantly, aren't forced to stop the video every time we load this thread in the future.
  13. *sigh* Look what I started. Anybody wanna get this thread back on topic?
  14. They do. This year, it's July 4 and all Saturdays from June 30 to August 4.
  15. I was the same way last year. I could barely move the next morning, but it was so worth it.
  16. Fixed link: http://seekingalpha.com/article/397631-6-momentum-stocks-driven-by-the-wrong-reasons
  17. Nice story, McSalsa! I can only feel the trims when I sit up front. I've never felt them in the middle or back.
  18. I'm not getting any warning on Firefox 10.0.2.
  19. For all we know, Firehawk may be included in the new expanded Gold/Platinum Pass ERT, the details of which have not been released yet. If it is, that will almost certainly be the best time to ride it (if it's not down).
  20. Bartender! A round of facepalms for the house on me!
  21. While that would make sense, if you hover over the number, it says "11 Jan 2012", which is a full month before this topic was started (and almost three weeks before the topic on Soak City construction was started). How did I screw that up? Must have been too tired. Never mind. Ignore me. *walks away in shame*
  22. I just noticed that the announcement of Invertigo's repainting was apparently enough to reset the "most online" record for the KIC forums. Apparently more people are interested in an existing coaster being repainted than in the announcement of the biggest and baddest coaster ever to hit KI. Go figure. EDIT: Never mind. I screwed up. See below.
  23. Next time, just Google "picard facepalm".
