Worst roller coaster you've ever ridden.
Either the Carowinds version of Hurler is a very different experience than the KD one, or a LOT of people have a really awful pain tolerance. I rode the Carowinds Hurler and it wasn't rough. Not even remotely.

The Amusement Park World without Kings Island
I would trade away KI for Firefly not being cancelled. Ok, maybe not. But I'd consider it at least.

August 15 kings island trip!
I'll be there tomorrow. Don't know what I'll be wearing, but if you see a tall white guy with glasses, feel free to say Hi! Odds are I'll wear my Vortex, Banshee, Holiday World, or Carowinds shirt. All of my other coaster shirts are black.

Banshee Construction Progress
Nothing wrong with that. My second favorite Arrow looper comes out over the midway. And I'm not talking about the obvious one. The one I'm referring to is blue, but it's also yellow and orange too. EDIT: you meant "stick out" as in, be noticeable I suppose. Oh well. The one I'm regerring to sticks out by both definitions, lol

If you owned Kings Island
Build a new lake so that any guests who complain can receive the Roller Coaster Tycoon treatment. Live the rest of my life behind bars, yet oddly satisfied with myself.

If you owned Kings Island
Because that worked so well for Eric Cartman lol

Banshee Construction Progress
My college's colors are Black and Magenta. I'm glad this didn't get black supports now that I think of that. Otherwise I'd end up calling it "The Muskie Coaster"

Banshee Construction Progress
But what I was getting at is that we may yet end up with tunnels.

Banshee Construction Progress
Fun fact that is a little off topic: Gold Striker and Leviathan didn't have any tunnels in their animations either. Just some food for thought.

Tips for Introducing someone to coasters
Take it from someone who used to be terrified of coasters and now loves them. Have his girlfriend go with. For me, at least, the need to look Macho overpowered the phobia, and the rest, as they say, is history.

What would you hate to see go at Kings Island
Restating everyone else here, but for me, I would be very upset at the loss of any of the Arrows. The only coaster that I wouldn't really miss if it were removed are Firehawk and Backlot. As flats go, I wouldn't mind losing Congo Falls too badly. I prefer Race for Your Life Charlie Brown anyway. All that said, losing either would be a tragedy all the same. The loss of any ride means the loss of somebody's favorite ride. The only thing that would make me shred my Gold Pass and never return would be the loss of The Beast. Good thing that won't happen for the foreseeable future, if ever.

Banshee? pssshh.....whats next?
Soak City needs another signature attraction to compliment the ProSlide Tornado. Probably with support for Fast Lane. (See Worlds of Fun.) My only problem with a water coaster would be that Soak City would probably close for weather whenever I'd try to go over there to marathon it. I believe I came up with the name "Splash Lane" ages ago. If anyone from Cedar Fair is reading this, you can take that name, and all I want is a free platinum pass for life

Banshee Queue Music
I would play Ozzy as well, but not that song. The obvious choice is Ozzy Osbourne's "Let me Hear You Scream"

I don't mind uphill trims on airtime coasters, as they help to emphasize the airtime. But it's not looking like Airtime will be Banshee's big sell like it was with Diamondback, so hopefully, no trims.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
Nope, 40 degrees is exactly as steep as Diamondback's lift. http://www.kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/index.cfm?entry=7b614318-2c80-4475-a322-12401a5b1afa But it does seem a lot steeper when you're on it. I can't believe The Beast's lift is only 20 degrees...

I wouldn't mind seeing Slingshot move to X-base. It would fit the theme there. But of course, it would still be visible in the video if they were planning to move it there and if the video mattered at all for that. Overall, unless Banshee NEEDED that area, I don't see Slingshot moving. And if Bashee DID need that area, you would see Slingshot moved, not removed. No way the park would get rid of a successful upcharge. Thunder Alley was probably not making much since the karts were gas-powered and you had to pay two or three attendants to run it. Slingshot makes money hand-over-fist, or at least it sure looks that way.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
Different subject, but didn't someone figure out that the lift hill was 200 feet long on the blueprint? Math tells me that we're looking at a hill that's just under 40 degrees. This lift will be very nearly as steep as Diamondback's, if the person who said that and my math are both correct.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
I was thinking about to. I read that it was going to have three trains. How are they going to run three trains no Mid Course Break run ?? One on the chain lift, one in the station, one on the course/final brakes. I'm sure the brake run will hold two trains as well if needed, as well as one being in the station.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
No, I haven't. That's why I played it safe by saying that it seems better instead of saying that it is, lol. I am disappointed to hear that the airtime hill lacks airtime. It probably wouldn't do much more for me than Dragster did. Which was honestly not too much. Dragster was very, very FUN. But I found that there are other rides at Cedar Point and other parks that are much more fun. I think Dragster is the very definition of FUN, at least the way FUN was defined under Kinzel. I think Ouimet's idea of FUN is different, and better.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
That last helix looks insane. The final helix was my favorite part of Raptor, and it will undoubtedly be my favorite with this one. I also really like how all of the inversions are tastefully done and don't at all seem forced. That last in-line twist will be very, very interesting. It is decently slow enough to give you that "whoa!" feeling, but not annoyingly slow like Gatekeeper's first inversion. I do believe this will be a nice, forceful B&M.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
Actually in the case of both, I think the ride experience trumps any records. The first time I rode Top Thrill, I came off trembling. I'd never done that on any other coaster. The launch is unbelievably powerful, and impressive.Kingda Ka is bigger. According to you, I'd guess, the record would make it better. As much as I love Great Advencha and Ka, TTD's launch is far more impressive. And at CP, Millennium Force still draws longer lines than TTD on a typical Saturday. At Great Advencha, Nitro and El Toro both draw more on a typical Saturday. Records schmecords. The ride experience trumps records. I never said that I would like it better due to records. But records and statistics are undeniably marketable, and to most people in the general public, matter a lot. Go to someone who isn't an enthusiast and tell them that Banshee has a Zero-g roll. Then tell them it holds the record for longest inverted roller coaster. I have a good idea which one of those they'll remember. If records mattered to me, Magnum wouldn't be my all-time favorite steel coaster when there are two coasters that have much more impressive statistics at the same park. Now, for what it's worth, Ka does seem better than TTD, but because it has a nice airtime hill after the top hat, not because it's (slightly) taller and faster. I will again add emphasis that I'm NOT saying that I think records matter for me. Banshee is the coaster of my dreams, and I will enjoy it either way. But I don't think it's going to draw people from Northern Ohio to KI, because on paper, it doesn't look that much more impressive than Raptor to a non-enthusiast.

Could Vekoma Trains work on Vortex?
The trains have Arrow chassis, and the brake run, station, and lift hill are Arrow. Which means all moving parts are Arrow. So in theory, for maintenance purposes, I would assume it is treated as an Arrow. Being that it isn't in Ohio, it isn't nearly as relevant as it would be here anyway.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
Nothing. And when I went to Cedar Point, I only waited about a third as long as I did for Dragster. And Dragster has a higher (theoretical) capacity.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
OK, fine. Replace TTD with Kingda Ka in my statement. I kinda think it still stands. And either way, TTD and Kingda Ka have impressive statistics, and, at least in my opinion, nothing else.

Kings Island Announces The World's Longest Inverted Coaster for 2014!
While I agree personally, I don't think the General Public feels that way. If that were true in most people's minds, TTD would NOT have hour plus waits on weekdays.
