  1. Maybe 30 million on non-coasters, plus another 20 Million for a new coaster in 2015 or 2016?
  2. -Zippin Pippin -Zippin Pippin -The red/orange coaster next to the water at Cedar Point that starts with M -(The fourth question is the same question as the first)
  3. http://www.gilroygardens.org/holiday-lights/ http://gilroygardens.org/visit/members-benefits.cfm Gilroy Gardens has a Holiday Lights event...and memberships that include 25 selected Bring-A-Friend FREE Days.
  4. How did they feel about Steamin' Demon up at Great Escape?
  5. The higher revenue parks do get a larger portion of the investments. Starting when Cedar Fair purchased the Paramount parks, Kings Island has added more big coasters than any Cedar Fair park, including the parks that produce more revenue.
  6. Cedar Fair probably felt Kings Dominion could increase revenue by adding that ride to compete with (or feed off of thrill-seekers heading to) Busch Gardens. They stated in a June press release that Carowinds and Kings Island both have growth opportunities regarding additional 'thrill' attractions. Kings Island also received a near-clone to that Carowinds 23 million dollar ride the year before it.
  7. They do look like light strands to me, too. At the bottom, it appears to be a mess of footprints? (Or hot dogs?) Seems like a beach boardwalk or something to do with one.
  8. I haven't decided which pass yet...if Cedar Point doesn't put in at least three more Intamin coasters for 2014 then I might only get a gold pass for KI.
  9. The Kennywood website just changed, and included on it is a page of park hours that actually lists what time the park closes for each day. http://www.kennywood.com/hours-and-directions/calendar The park will 'probably close sometime around ten', nevermore?
  10. By best, do you mean the quickest way driving from SW Ohio?I-71 north to I-70 east, and take that until you reach the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Go east until you get to New Jersey(I-76 and I-276). Go north on the NJ Turnpike until I-195, then east to exit 16. There are ways to avoid the PA toll road, but they will probably add at least ninety minutes. NJ turnpike isn't really expensive, but you could take other roads to get there with a longer time. Also, there are smaller amusement parks all over Pennsylvania that are fun little stops...not really thrill parks though.
  11. Screamscape reported that Mean Streak may close down a few weeks early for maintenance, not to change it to another type of coaster. I don't think this would be the first time they started the yearly maintenance on the ride before the end of the season.
  12. So about a week before SIX plans to announce all the new rides for next year, they still hadn't asked the zoning board for permission? Gurnee sure isn't in the woods by the sea.
  13. The bottom right area looks like sand and a little water to me. I'll guess it is something to do with the beach area.
  14. So you can't tell us whether or not you found Walt in a cryogenic freezer?
  15. The park is quite flat. I really doubt the elevation changes more than ten meters.
  16. At Kings Island -Dinosaurs Alive! (If it can be considered a ride.) Other parks: -WindSeeker (Cedar Point) -Outlaw Run
  17. I've won the bowling ball game before. It took me several tries, but I eventually won.
  18. Green Lantern: First Flight at Magic Mountain. Oh neat, mine is green Intamin track.
  19. I think you'll have a better chance of getting Lew Brown on the number 19.
  20. Update as of August 2, The Racer Cam is pointed at Slingshot and 2014.
  21. You can order pizza without the extra breadsticks at LaRosa's if you ask.
  22. But if Kings Island didn't exist, then wouldn't that void Kings Dominion too? My understanding is they made KD due to the success of KI.
  23. What exactly do we vote for in this poll...which makes the rides we prefer? Which manufacturer would be a better choice for Kings Island at this point? Which track is the most visually appealing? Which company maintains a better balance of engineering and psychology within each ride?
  24. Somewhere in another dimension, there is a Starting to Decode 2014 thread that is full of relevant and insightful gumshoeing. My guess is that thread has about eight pages.
