Parking lot: The Ride.razmataz, who couldn't help himself. Oh gosh please no. BB1, who doesn't want pebbles in his sandals, nor the bumpy ride that would be a Intamin Pavement-Mobile, which would probably break down due to tires popping, or the pavement breaking.

For the community of coaster enthusiasts who are 6+ ft, I hope it will be comfortable, but with the reports already, I don't believe it will be an issue.
-
Some say they gave a bad name to the enthusiasts of the donkey, possibly the reason why such an animal is rarely discussed here. (and when it was, there was community "no" statements)
-
Does anyone know how many g's could be pulled on this? I was originally thinking about 3.6-4.0 at the max, and I can't find it anywhere.
-
I wonder, what does the TOS say about this? I'm glad for the train to come finally, I hope to see testing in March!
-
More than a site filled with more donkey enthusiasts?! BB1, wishing you safe, and FUN travels in KIC.

I like barrels, though, I would not suggest bringing a barrel to the park. Such an odd world we live in

To the Stone Henge idea: I veto for this, like the old idea has stated, having a full European area will do good for the park. Which, this can speak more to the super natural side of Europe. For those who do not know, Stone Henge is an old Anglo-Saxon site, with rumored excellent acoustics, and a pagan "temple" so to speak. To the yellow station piece: Probably wood or a tarp to insulate the roof.

Cedar Point Planning Something Big?
BB1 replied to Coasterama's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Centurion? BB1, the Roman Empire enthusiast. -
From riding Beast's first ride, to riding Banshee in the first hour, everyone has a "must do" list for the opening day. So, as I begin to plan out what I need to do in the opening day, I thought it would be great for us to discuss what we are banking on during the day, possibly even to help out others unsure about what to do the day. What is your opening day must do list? 1. Banshee in the first hour of operation. 2. Ride FoF in the first 2 hours 3. Ride Beast twice 4. Ride Bat at least twice. 5. Take uber amounts of photos (Solo on photo taking, so I will be away from the group for a little while) 6. Take part in our "official un-official KIC meet up".

Cedar Point Planning Something Big?
BB1 replied to Coasterama's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They have planned to add a "big" addition this year with Pipe Scream, and Lake Erie Eagles, ironically a huge addition to the eyes of Kings Island enthusiasts. (To some, it will probably be nick-named "Lake Erie Seagulls") -
Personally, I think KK and KI can coexist. Heck, they did for years, even with Six Flags doing their best to fail. I can say that, as a Louisvillian, I liked KK (pre-Six Flags) because it was local, it had decent rides for its size, and I was there in 10 minutes. I can maybe make it to KI two or three times in a season if I plan it well. KI is an event for me. On the other hand, I can hit KK any given day, ride a few rides, hop back in the car and be at the zoo before the gates close. I consider that a good thing! From what I've read, nobody involved with KK has any delusions of beating KI. KI is a totally different beast (hyuck, hyuck). Don't be putting words in my mouth, I did not imply such. I am just presenting the logic in the web searches. I have hopes for KK, I really do, but I don't pick sides before opening date. I won't even make such an conclusion untill the end of the season, or at least near the end. Like I said, I'm not picking sides, but I will be frequenting the park and I have high hopes for its success, just use logos while discussing this subject, and try, for the sake of your ethos, don't take a side. Sorry, I think we must have gotten our wires crossed here. I wasn't attempting to put word in your mouth, and I certainly didn't mean to make it sound like I was arguing. You asked if this was a David and Goliath situation, which to me sounded like you were seeking opinions on whether or not these parks will have to compete with each other. I'm of the opinion that neither park is a threat to the other, for reasons I've already mentioned. I didn't think you were taking sides, especially since I don't think there's a fight. 1. Rhetorical Question 2. Of course they will! They are both in the near vicinity of HW, KI competes with HW and vice versa. KI competes with CP, roughly less to KK in vicinity and KI had a 2 park deal, so that idea that people commune that way can work inversely. If you look up that allusion, David defeats Goliath, David wins, Goliath falls; though, with that also it means a little guy vs big guy situation, which are unknown in any case. Rhetorical BB1, by the way, welcome to KIC. Seems a truly rhetorical question wouldn't generate controversy. I don't think you should assume that Kentucky Kingdom is attempting to compete with King's Island, especially since Hart has clearly stated that they will not. The two parks will have significant overlap--they always did--but, as I said, they don't necessarily attempt to meet the same needs. KK is a small, local amusement park whose demographic will be predominately locals and families who don't necessarily desire the Big Park experience. King's Island's demographic is...well, almost everybody. And if you look at KI's attendance during KK's operational years, there really is no "KK effect" there. Flip the script and you'll see that KK grew and maintained very respectable attendance up until the point when Six Flags decided to fail. This would suggest that these two parks have and will coexist peacefully. Now, KK vs. HW, there's where competition will be a factor. And I know the story of David and Goliath. Thanks for the summary, though. Again, I say there's no battle to be won or lost, so it's irrelevant. Personally, I think KK and KI can coexist. Yet, I would like to point out that in some time, KK could become a force that could compete on a larger scale with KI. 3. It's not exactly a battle, per say, but a race, an competition that would be avoided, but I have a hard feeling of accepting it to be true. 4. I would like to point out a competition with Beech Bend and KK in the near future. 5. They are both in the same region, both have coasters, which, both of their demographics, at some point intersect which would cause a competition. KI has a thing for everyone, KK has a thing for everyone, it is just the utilization of these elements that set these parks apart.

Which I would agree, being a Kentucky park, Kentucky news stations work towards that idea. Though, in Northern KY, where you have a strong Cincy influence, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, does not catch wind of this as easily as those down the river.
-
Which I already inferred, but I'm still hesitant on calling KK as Cincy News locale. It could be, but it could be not.
-
Wait, what theming? I never notice anything while trying to avoid the water!

Fair but just showing free buzz can be generated from media sitesSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Which focus on major parks, and to some number, focus on KI rather than KK.Fair point, but shouldn't KK send news releases to news stations in Louisville and Lexington, maybe Frankfurt? No reporting done from any of these sites.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've seen reporting via local news pretty regularly. The Thunder Run event got quite a bit of attention, at least by Louisville standards. I'm still scratching my head over the lack of Lightning Run coverage. The news stations paid more attention to them tearing down Greezed Lightnin'. I'm sure they're just waiting until there's pretty construction site footage they can show the viewers. The huge turnout for the job fair had a fair bit of news coverage as I recall, but then I'm also seeking out KK information, which I'm sure not everyone is doing. Seeing how KK is more of a local attraction than a "destination," they probably don't see as much return on early advertising as a big park like KI would. That's the thing, without me looking in the internet news, or going down to Louisville,I wouldn't know it was re-opening. That's why I speak of it often, and keep an unbiased position because in this kind of situation, bad ideas can darken the presight of the park.To Shark: I think that to news rooms, a "local" idea is more regional, not reaching the region of Louisville.

Note: Banshee broke records Banshee is a B&M, popular with many populations, especially the home grounds of Europe. Lightning Run, though a new style, is at a small park, that only have small enthusiast bases on miscellaneous sites(TPR, C-net, KIC, etc) Banshee is at a large fan base park, which, has world record breaking attractions.(KIC, KIE, TPR, C-net, CC, etc) SOB was probably one of the most "multi-fan based" spoken of topics, so the reclaimer of the site surely gets uber news. KK is a fledgling park, which ALREADY has flak, and strong hopes for good times. David and Goliath? (No, not a Six Flags attraction)

It flowed better with a previous statement that I revised, sorry for the confusion.

I don't mean to be rash, but when I say very hopeful, I mean that I am very hopeful to see it in full fruition. On the flip side, I would much rather see from you to go into full detail than to just type two words of confirmation. Will the station be photogenic? Will the coaster and station be photogenic? Will the grass be photogenic? Still on the topic, maybe I should elaborate on what I mean when I say this. I am hopeful to see the tombstones in sight while in plaza around the coaster, making it more photogenic than the latter. I am hopeful to see how much they put into the station, possibly making an in station shot more photogenic than the latter. BB1, who goes in depth on his responses.

Yep, Vertigo is a great song, I think U2 would like it better on the Invertigo you know.
-
It's going to look great period, I am very hopeful of how this coaster will turn out photogenically.
