  1. Terp, I am very sorry that happened to you; it's a shame the way that situation was handled. Based on all the information I've gathered from the last few pages, it looks like I'll be riding my first SLC elsewhere; possibly at a place that does a wicked job counting its flags! -MDMC, who will NOT be seeing red this summer, unless that red is Diamondback, Storm Runner, or Steel Force...
  2. I don't really have one defining moment, but for me, it started out with milestones. My first coaster was The Beastie (now Woodstock Express). The next milestones were Racer (forwards), Beast, Son of Beast and Flight of Fear. Between The Beast and his son, Adventure Express and Top Gun (now The Bat) were my go to rides. I think I fully got into riding roller coasters as a teenager; before then, I loved to ride stuff, but was afraid of a lot of them. One summer (or was it fall), The Beast got "stuck" (it stopped for probably a minute) on the first lift and that freaked me out; when I went to Universal (Islands of Adenture) that next year, I only rode Hulk as it didn't have a lift hill (as was worried about getting stuck again on coasters with lift hills). Now that I think about it, I think Mantis was sort of a defining moment as that's one of first rides I rode by myself at another park besides Kings Island. I don't remember every detail of how I got to where I am today, but I do know this, by 2008, I was riding coasters like crazy, just like I do now! EDIT: I remember in my early days I could only do about 4-5 rides a day and I was done. Now I can do much, much more!
  3. Wow! As with the Banshee documentary, you did a really good job!
  4. The rumored Dive Coaster is exactly what I thought when I saw this news on Twitter earlier today.
  5. Saw the lighting package last night and it looked pretty cool!
  6. Rode the Flyers last night and I can now see why everyone was so much looking forward to them! :)

  7. Had a great day/night tonight. Saw lots of friends, including OhioColts and family, Don, Lorax, Homestar92, and my uncle and cousins. Also, accompanied my 6-year old cousin on his first Beast and Bat rides. He wasn't so sure about The Beast, but he did like The Bat. That really warms my heart as I used to ride that and Adventure Express like crazy when I was a kid and it's great to see that he loved it! Also, got a zen ride on RFYLCB (lol) and got a fireworks ride on Firehawk; it was really cool seeing those fireworks upside-down! Also, before I forget, I did ride the Flyers (Woodstock Gliders) and they were great. I now see what everyone is talking about and why a lot of KICers are thrilled to have Flying Scooters back at the park! EDIT: Also, wait times weren't too bad; Gliders and Beast were probably the longest waits of the day.
  8. It says "0 Warning posts" in bold on my profile page on the left hand side above the tabs (Overview, Likes, etc.).
  9. I really like the new look of things, but I must ask; what is a warning post?
  10. If I recall correctly (and a picture on RCDB from that time period backs me up on this), the area surrounding Carowinds' version of Flying Ace (then Rugrat's Runaway Reptar) looked really nice when I rode it back in '03. The picture I referenced can be found here: http://rcdb.com/1897.htm#p=7283. I mention this because I'm reminded of how beautiful the area surrounding (then) Reptar looked when I read some thoughts about our Flying Ace being over the water (which I think would be pretty cool and definitely different; maybe Snoopy could dodge water cannons/fountains in his Red Baron plane. It would add a water ride back into Planet Snoopy (not including RFYLCB) and it could be a lot of fun). Just my two cents on the matter!
  11. Yesterday was amazing; had a great Opening Day, from breakfast with some KICers to working in Action Zone to getting some great night rides on some KI classics (Bat, Drop Tower, Adventure Express, Blue Racer, Beast) :)

  12. As mentioned before, the glassblower's shop has been moved. It used to be where Sweet Spot currently is now (the side closest to Yogurt Plus) and is now on the other side of International Street near The Emporium.
  13. Agreed, but thanks for letting me know where the business is now. I was wondering where Wayne (the glassblower) and his shop went... In other news, today was amazing for me and I'm very exhausted but it was so worth it! -MDMC, who had a FUN day and who also may or may not be planning a trip to Trader's World in the near future... EDIT: Oh, and Adventure Express was amazing at night, as usual. Drop Tower and The Beast were great as well.
  14. Opening Day is upon us! :) :) Finally! Hope everyone has a really FUN day as Banshee, Bat, Drop Tower, Beast, and all our other favorites are officially open to the public! :)

  15. One more day... Opening Day is almost upon us! :)

  16. If this ride does is involve water (besides the sprinkler systems), maybe it could be a spinning coaster with a splashdown. I picture this creating a whirlpool effect if the cars are spinning when they hit the splashdown! This would look really cool, although I could see this turning dangerous though as cars might get sucked into the whirlpool, causing the ride to valley. If this was a workable possibility, it would be a really unique idea! -MDMC, just thinking out loud...
  17. 3 more days!!!! :)

  18. I can add some from the Cedar Fair era: "Waiting for Superman"- Daughtry "If I lose myself" and "Love Runs Out"- OneRepublic, "Waiting for Tonight"- Jennifer Lopez, "Mountain Song" and "Little Talks"- Of Monsters and Men, "Radiate" and "If I had Eyes"- Jack Johnson, "Best Song Ever" and "That's what makes you beautiful"- One Direction, "Mermaid" -Train "Just a fool" by Blake Shelton/Christina Aguliara ...plus I know there are lots of other songs on the main playlist that I can't think of at the moment. I've also heard "Pedal to the Medal" (Kazzer) in line for Backlot and "Nightmare" (Bioshock) was played during KI's Skeleton Crew.
  19. Also, if you are using Flickr to upload your pictures to KIC, you can specify the size that you want the picture to before copying the link to embed in the HTML code of your post. Hope this helps.
  20. Glad you all had a good time. Mystery Mine and Tennessee Tornado are two of my faves at Dollywood and I'm glad you enjoyed them!
  21. One week left! Opening Day will be here before we know it! :)

  22. I like the music on the first lift, but I also like the "music" that The Beast itself makes! 8 more days...
  23. 9 more days! :)

  24. Happy Easter everyone; we have 13 days left until the 2015 season begins! :)

  25. Good stuff, glad you all had a good time. I entertained the idea of going down there last week knowing that it was the closest theme park open during my Spring Break, but I decided against it for a number of reasons. As for the rides, I do have to agree to disagree about Tornado as it's one of my personal favorites at Dollywood because of its smoothness. However, I know we can both agree on the fact that Mystery Mine is awesome!
