  1. Last night was OK at the park; Vortex was very rough!

  2. Personally, I think the trail itself is really cool and is a unique attraction. If it did go, I'd probably miss it some, but I think I'd like the replacement as well.
  3. I'd move Viper from Six Flags Great America here and put it on the land behind the Crypt's old building (basically sandwiched between The Beast and Diamondback).
  4. I picked Invertigo because it's awesome! But seriously, though, it's my favorite coaster in the park because of the steep drop and the high speed at which it goes through the course. However, I only try to ride in the front or back because I think it's very awkward looking at someone the entire ride.
  5. This happened to me on the Blue Racer when I went Tuesday. Somewhere between the first drop and the turnaround hill, my lap bar clicked once more and it held my right leg in really tightly (which was somewhat painful). And to answer the question of what I won't ride? I'll ride anything.
  6. Of all the choices listed, I chose Son of Beast. When it was first opened, it was (in my mind) epic and was one of my favorites. While The Beast was, is and always will be a classic, I thought Son of Beast was (with the loop) a better ride. Another wooden coaster that stands out to me is Viper at Six Flags Great America. I rode it twice when I went in 2008 and loved it because it had so much airtime.
  7. Had a good day at the park today; took some pictures and ended the night with Firehawk :)

  8. I was just wondering what dinosaur of a camera took this picture. Please for the love of GOD, if you want to share a picture make sure people can make out what is in it. At least these were not as bad as http://www.flickr.com/photos/95776358@N02/9353295890/ It was probably taken with MDMC01's non-smartphone camera. He wanted me to post them here, since no one else had posted any after last night's hysteria. Yes, it was taken with the camera on my phone (which is not a smartphone, but a Juke). I apologize that it's not better quality. I do know that some of my pictures turn out better than others. And also, on another note, I also thought these green circular tubes were supports (I even noticed that Invertigo and Firehawk had similar supports) but from what I'm gathering from reading this thread, it turns out they were just PVC pipes.
  9. What's funny about this is that I was just drinking some apple juice a few minutes ago!
  10. Welcome to KIC, MidnightBeast. I'm really glad you enjoyed Adventure Express at night as that's one of my favorite night rides . Also, the Blue side of The Racer always closes during the fireworks, but the Red side does not.
  11. Even though I'm planning on getting a shirt in the near future, I still like this idea. For example, some KIC members (myself included) do not wear a KIC shirt to the park. With a wristband, we can be easily identified even though we are wearing a different shirt. I know many times when I've been to the park, I've looked for KIC members and unless they are wearing their KIC shirt (or unless I've met them before), I don't know if someone is a member. With a wristband, you can tell who's who regardless of the shirt someone is wearing.
  12. I'm in . Like others, I'll most likely be going to church first, but afterwards, I'll be there!
  13. Maverick is awesome and Millennium Force is always fun too. I especially like the "new millennium" theming of the ride and I think the following ad explains the theme well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gc-q6QQklEs
  14. Drop Tower used to scare me when I was younger because I was afraid of getting stuck at the top. Nowadays, I love it (although lately, the drop has been catching me off-guard). I will say that Xtreme Skyflyer is the only ride at the park that still scares me a bit. Nonetheless, I still think it's a fun ride and I've ridden it the past two times I've come to the park.
  15. Maybe the 200029 is alluding to Son of Beast's big breakdowns that led to its removal (as Son of Beast opened in 2000 and the new ride is going in Son of Beast's old spot)? As for what the 670 (or 67, without the "oh") might mean, I'm not sure.
  16. I've been in the park a lot this season, so here are some songs that I remember have been playing: "Bruises"- Train feat. Ashley Monroe "Still into You"- Paramore "Let me love you" -Ne-Yo "A Thousand Years"- Christina Perri "Brighter than the sun" - Colbie Calliet "Back 2 Good" - Matchbox 20 (only heard it one night before the fireworks) "Our Song" -Matchbox 20 "Overjoyed" -Matchbox 20 "Big Yellow Bus" -Counting Crows/Vanessa Carlton "A Thousand Miles" -Vanessa Carlton "Just a Fool" -Christina Aguilera/Blake Shelton "How to Save a Life" -The Fray "You Found Me" -The Fray "That's what makes you beautiful- One Direction "Pinch me" -Barenaked Ladies "Waiting for Tonight" - J.Lo ... and I'll probably think of more! EDIT: There's more: "Paradise" -Coldplay "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" -Coldplay "The Remedy" -Jason Mraz "Hanginaround" -Counting Crows "Mine" -Taylor Swift "The Story of Us" -Taylor Swift "I knew you were trouble" -Taylor Swift "Mirrors" -Justin Timberlake "My love don't cost a thing" -J.Lo "Carry On" - fun. "Something to Believe in" -Parachute "Breathless" -The Corrs
  17. While riding Drop Tower and Adventure Express today, I noticed that a) there were people working in the construction area; b- the area seems to be expanding into the valley, close to Adventure Express (this might have already been mentioned before, but it was the first time I saw it) and c) there was a huge driller instrument on site, which might mean more footers will be poured soon (in fact, I think I remember seeing a few holes that were going to be prepped for footers as I had a pretty good view of the site before we dropped). -MDMC, whose current snack of choice while viewing this thread is a piece of gum! EDIT: I had to write b with a dash because an emoticon kept accidently popping up when I typed a "B" with a parenthesis.
  18. As I've mentioned before on other threads, I've ridden Mystery Mine by myself (as in, the only one on the train) and that was pretty fun. That's the only time that's happened, though.
  19. Happy 15th Shivering Timbers! I visited the park once (pre-Thunderhawk) and remember enjoying both this ride and Adventure Falls (a ride similar to Congo Falls, only instead of a double-drop, it has a large single drop). I also remember recreating Shivering Timbers on Roller Coaster Tycoon after I got back from the park that day.
  20. I go to the park alone a lot and enjoy myself. As others have said, it allows you to experience the park at your own pace.
  21. Yeah, 26 (Mean Streak) and 29 (American Eagle) are definitely not epic in my book; though I would love to go to DCA sometime to ride 30 (California Screamin')
  22. ^I thought the Diamondback voice-overs sounded familiar! I heard them when I was in line Sunday night (it was a great ride btw!) and I thought it was Don, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for confirming!
  23. I actually watched some AdamTheWoo the other night and the videos were pretty cool! Specifically, I watched the Triceratops Encounter trail at IOA video (I think this was before it re-opened) and the two videos of the abandoned Nickelodeon Studios building at Universal Studios Florida.
  24. Just got back from an amazing night at KI; marathoned Flight Deck 3 times, had a great ride on Diamondback + a Beast night ride after the fireworks!!! :)

  25. Thanks for sharing the link to the photos! I think these are really cool as I've never seen construction photos of a Drop Tower before
