That is awesome! Just saw the video the GIF references and it is hilarious! Here it is for those interested:
-
They reminded me of those bugs you find at Cedar Point or Hersheypark near water at night. But maybe they are gnats, I’m not sure… Here are some dead (?) ones near Delirium
-
If you are at KI today, avoid Coney Mall (and reportedly Area 72); there is currently a bug infestation. It’s worse from WindSeeker to the basketball game. Coney BBQ patio is much less of a swarm, but there are a few. EDIT: The bugs are less in AP and even less so in Action Zone

I love this part too! Have you ever ridden a Condor-type ride (they are pretty rare nowadays)? It's pretty much that, but the whole apparatus rises in the air. https://www.hussrides.com/en/classic-rides/condor-2g2gh According to Wikipedia, there are only 3 operating in the United States - one at Great Escape (NY), one at Six Flags Great America, and one at NJFTP (er, Six Flags Great Adventure). I rode the one at Hersheypark before it was removed.

Top Thrill Dragster Incident

According to the website, it looks like there are still a lot of food places inside the park. That being said, it is a shame so many food places closed - perhaps there were too many? Glad they still have the Grilled Cheese place, though -

Thank you for posting this link! There's also a mirror maze in one of the arcades?!?!?! Pretty cool EDIT: I wonder if these two Arcades were redone with the Boardwalk/Wild Mouse addition. I also wonder if that mirror maze will become part of a future Halloweekends attraction... -
That looks really cool and well done. I’ll have to check out the video at some point.
-
Interesting, I did not know this was the reason. It makes sense, though.

Ok. Do you know when this change to the wave pools happened?
-
Went to Soak City for the first time since 2018* and had a great time. It was great coming back to old favorites; I especially enjoyed Pineapple Pipeline (fka Bonsai Pipeline) and Ultratwister (not sure what it's called now). I rode all the old (WaterWorks-era) slides minus Zoom Flume (fka Rushing River) as well as Splash River, Tropical Plunge (green drop slide) and the old wave pool (Breaker's Bay). Speaking of Breaker's, I noticed that there is now only one entrance into that wave pool, with netting around the rest of the "shore" (it used to be a free-for-all as the wave pool could be entered from anywhere). Though I understand why they are doing this (I'm assuming for safety reasons), it still took some getting used to. I did not see if the same entrance modification was made to Tidal Wave Bay. *I've visited the waterpark since then, I just haven't ridden anything since 2018

Fury 325 Support Failure
MDMC01 replied to Oldschool75's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm still planning to go to Carowinds next year. Even if Fury isn't open (which would be a bummer as I've heard great things about it), there are lots of other coasters and flats I'm looking forward to riding/re-riding (I haven't been since 2003). And if it is open, I will most likely ride it, assuming all the safety issues have been worked out. -
That's pretty cool! I wonder if the seat rotation is rider-controlled or at random?

How did that happen? Could it have been from force/pressure or weather related? -

That’s actually pretty cool, IMO. Is this putt putt course in the main park? Also, on a larger note, I see this a Cedar Point diversifying their offerings (as in, not just huge coasters) - I feel like this started with things like Vertical Impact and Forbidden Frontier (RIP) and it’s (likely) why the new beachfront building (forgot the name) was added. -

What world record did Maverick break? First Blitz Coaster? -
Sol Spin is cool, but I think Cargo Loco is my new favorite flat. It’s at least one of my (new) go-to rides, anyway

And remember, Timberwolf is also cashless... -MDMC, who learned the hard way

Glad Skillet did well; that was a good show! -MDMC, currently wearing his Skillet shirt from SpiritSong Also, I didn't realize Three Doors Down was still popular. I remember the Berlin concert was decently packed.

New Phantom Theater Encore Merch (TAKE MY MONEY)

That's pretty cool that there's more official PT (and PT:E) merch. -
So this is interesting: https://www.cleveland.com/news/2023/06/city-of-aurora-hopes-to-purchase-renovate-geauga-lake-and-sea-world-site-see-the-plans.html?fbclid=IwAR3OOSkha80-Qo2V2Pue9TPBqJHNHBTUoh-rCwm5z85LkS8JgTV9Seo1Pi4_aem_th_AfZWC0-vUE3FlzS59LB3YL51DdCqYp4OiyrMs0qABxxdKdp Apparently, the City of Aurora plans to turn some of the old Geagua Lake/Sea World land into a public park. I think that would be really cool and I would certainly make the drive up there to visit. Thoughts?

If the building does get re-used for another purpose (such as a Haunt maze*), I think they need to put a bar over the back stairs (right side of SOB station); I've heard of people exiting Wolf Pack that way in the past as they've randomly shown up on The Bat's exit path (the proper exit was the actual Son of Beast exit path). Unlike Chaos (where if you go out the wrong exit, you'll easily find your way back to Area 72), one could get lost in the park's back area after descending the stairs. EDIT: *As a note, I have no idea what's going on (This thread is the first I've heard of work being done in that area), but I'm guessing it could either be demo'd or reused for something more permanent.
-
That would actually be awesome if they brought that back right after Adventure Port - it would be like when we got Invertigo/DT in '99 and Son of Beast in 2000. -MDMC, a big fan of Adventure Port's theming
-
Though I’d miss the long, winding path to the rainforest, that could be cool, with some actual switchbacks put in toward the front of the entrance, not unlike Adventure Express’s expanded newly queue line.
-
I think they also had this (or something like it...) at Cedar Point one year in Frontiertown and it was like I was walking through a {spooky) winter wonderland... it really freaked me out as I wasn't expecting it... I do (barely) remember KI's version and I don't recall it having as many lights as in the above video. EDIT: And yes, @Thrill_Biscuit was right Wonder what he's up to these days?
