  1. This name is most appropriate, works perfect with the teaser video! The death was SOB, not the B&M! Not sure what you mean by "second b&m death"? the death on dominator, train pulled into station with unconscious person, rushed to hospital and they ended up dying from a ruptured brain aneurysm ( brain bleed ) its hush hush tho its a b&m coaster... Unlike the 2009 Son of Beast incident that was all over the media. About a lady that 2 and a half weeks later ends up with a brain bleed and claims it was Son of Beast.. And cedar unfair ends up shutting down Son of Beast and eventually demolishing it even tho it was operating normally...Was this death on Dominator induced by the ride or did the man in question have a preexisting condition?
  2. Was Timber Tower a prototype or a Giant? If it was either of those, that would be a logical explanation why TT failed.
  3. Its downtime is not so much because it is a HUSS ride but the fact that it was both a prototype AND a Giant model.
  4. They will keep the ride operating so long as they can do so profitably. Banshee will have little effect on Invertigo's tenure.
  5. Despite what's gone down between the two of us throughout the summer, I hope you stay a little bit longer after Banshee's hype dies down. I actually like a lot of the non-Intamin posts you make, and I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on other topics.
  6. Probably because records aren't worth much more than an advertising gimmick.
  7. So blue supports will morph to pink by next season?
  8. ^I heard February. If the tombstones are indeed happening, they can make a great foot chopper effect.
  9. Those new effects don't even look real! Well done, Disney.
  10. I HATE looking out windows at night.
  11. I highly doubt Six Flags would let such a big investment go so soon.
  12. What's so awesome about Millennium Force? Drop, overbank, hill, overbank, overbank, hill, overbank, brakes.
  13. Animatronics last however long they're maintained. The dinosaurs have been kept up very well.
  14. Glad you and I can agree on one thing. Hands up is the only way to ride Drop Tower.
  15. 1. Kings Island was NOT the flagship park of Paramount Parks. 2. What's innovative about Backlot Stunt Coaster, Invertigo, and Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle? 3. Paramount did not do most of what you said, such as installing "cookie cutter rides." It is more VIACOM to blame. 4. The 2009 incident was far from a joke. It was reported the woman was in intensive care during that time period from her ride to the report. Kings Island did the correct thing by closing down the ride, evaluating ALL possibilities, and finally deciding to remove the ride from the park. Cedar Fair does not want to throw away a multi-million dollar attraction without finding a solution. 5. Just because there is a difference between manufacturers' ride experience does not make one superior to the other. Every manufacturer brings a different thing to the table. Intamin provides more out of control rides, but their reliability greatly suffers from it. B&M is safe and reliable but brings slightly less intense--but still extremely fun and thrilling--rides to the table.
  16. I don't recall a hyper ever existing at Geauga Lake.
  17. It was still a death on an Intamin ride, on a Cedar Fair property. I doubt you'll be seeing much of Intamin soon.
  18. I'd probably run it into the ground.
  19. I seem to be in the minority here, but what many of you say is somewhat hypocritical. So many of you want theming out the wazoo, but what does it stand for without the appropriate music selection? Imagine what guests would have thought of Tomb Raider if it blared Thriller over the speakers instead of the ride's beautiful score. Guests wouldn't have taken the ride nearly as seriously and it might have left them with a sour note. Theming starts with music and that's why I suggest, if a queue / station soundtrack is selected, the park goes with something a little more orchestral and a little less Top 40. The park already owns rights to various Batman, Transformers, Independence Day, Lost, and Inception tracks, so why not use them? Even if they looped the Haunt soundtrack through the speakers, it would set the ambiance perfectly. There is so much potential for this ride. I don't want Lana del Ray, Madonna, and Maroon 5 blasting through the speakers when I know the park can do better.
  20. It seems I have been mistaken. Magnum appears to be pieced together without the help of welding.
  21. What year did Double Loop open? RCDB says it was in 1977, but I read Magnum was welded together during construction. This would mean Double Loop was not the last Arrow to be assembled via welding.I'm so confused.
  22. No, I think he's referring to the nonsense played in Splash Mountain.
  23. I don't understand the Tapatalk draw. The mobile site works fine. The "Sent from my..." tags are pretty obnoxious, too.
