  1. He's been on Instagram before. His username was donhelbig and recently changed it to @kingsislandpr. #awk
  2. I could see it coming back. Not now, not in 5 years from now, but the possibility is there for the future. After all, Cedar Fair still owns the land. It's just a matter of cleaning up the land and opening a select few family attractions. I think the park could work very well if it were comprised similarly to Coney Island. The way I see it, it has a shot. More of a shot than Kentucky Kingdom, anyways.
  3. Thanks for posting. I did not know the circular island in Coney did not originally have pathways going through the center. I also noticed the building presently known as Jukebox Diner has a facade closely resembling the carousel structure. What was the name of that building during the given time period?
  4. I don't want to hijack the thread, but what makes many rides go down during Opening Day? I understand the rides haven't operated in awhile, but they should have enough time to get the rides "warmed up" so to speak.
  5. Can we fix the "HUGE FOURMS" on the front page?
  6. ^The lifespan depends on many factors such as maintenance and priority. Take Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular as an example. The show is comprised of LED lighting, yet its current state is mediocre at best.
  7. Are the people writing the comments brain-dead? I think Cedar Point has a few more rides than 20. Geauga Lake was affordable for everyone...but not Cedar Fair. A reply to the comment above: Maybe this was true in Kings Island's case, but there was zero competition between Cedar Point and Geauga Lake.
  8. I liked Great America a lot. It had a charm that Cedar Point didn't really have. They have a nice flat collection, and I was able to do all rides in a day. Batman: The Ride and Condor stood out to me as great rides that aren't replicated at Cedar Point. All in all, I recommend SFGA. They don't have Maverick or Top Thrill Dragster, but you have to remind yourself that you can have great fun without riding the tallest or most intense coasters (I think Flight Deck is a great example of this). Go big!
  9. What good does it serve to have inoperable joysticks if there are no riding passengers in a capsule?
  10. What I'm wondering is if the menu will be German-exclusive or if there will be some other cultures included.
  11. This was posted as Kings Island's photo of the day with the caption: This is probably the most exciting news regarding 2013 to me. http://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog-article/online-fun/Kings-Island-Photo-of-the-Day-2-21-13-30
  12. Can't say I'm anywhere close to your specs, but my guess would be that you can't ride on rides like the Zephyr, The Racer, or Firehawk. I really can't tell you for sure. The most surefire way to know for sure is to talk to the park.
  13. Greezed Lightning is not set to reopen at Kentucky Kingdom. Twisted Twins's future looks brighter than the Schwarzkopf looper.
  14. I'm surprised he didn't say anything about donkeys in his reply.
  15. I wouldn't mind something like DiVertical at Mirabilandia.
  16. I tend to enjoy riding with my friends the most. I'd rather not be so promiscuous with my riding partners.
  17. Why would they leave after dumping a great amount of money into the park? Ask VIACOM .
  18. Maybe it's just me, but other members' posts like UncleHenry have really gotten on my nerves lately. Too many people are using their seniority as an excuse to bash on the community, and that's what I take issue with.
  19. Part of me wishes he brought the 3-Point Challenge with him instead.
  20. What was the whole premise of moving the Eagles out of Kings Island? From what I understand, they weren't causing trouble here. It seems more of a trouble to relocate a couple states away versus in-park, anyways.
