  1. I'm defending the numbers. I honestly don't think it'll leave anytime soon either, however if the numbers were extremely low my opinion would change
  2. Well look at the numbers and you'll see what guests think. I know its old but this is the most recent count, to my knowledge, that @malem has posted.
  3. The top three coasters on the poll so far are Backlot Stunt Coaster, Invertigo, and Vortex. General summary from what people have said so far Backlot Stunt Coaster Low capacity ride Poor placement Outdated theming Invertigo Seen as a very low capacity ride Rough and extremely intense Vortex Rough-not as smooth as it used to be I think some of the themes we are seeing are some capacity issues, placement, and comfort. I'm actually kinda surprised that these results have been pretty consistent with issues and complaints I've heard from both enthusiasts and guests.
  4. I think a new coaster shifts the popularity of all the other coasters in the park, but no its not because of Banshee. Maybe its because X-Base is so uninviting that it isn't worth it for me to walk to that section of the park to wait in a long line. At least with Banshee there are restrooms nearby along with food stands and other attractions. Add those things to X-Base and I'd be more inclined to ride Firehawk. Now if it was a B&M Flyer, I would certainly wouldn't have a problem because they have quiet anti-rollbacks, faster lifthills and are genuinely more comfortable.
  5. I meant a B&M Flyer! If we got Dominator, Vortex's popularity would plummet
  6. They could always have audio in the tunnel to simulate an aircraft
  7. @upstop *Goes up lift hill* "You have taken all of our beer, NOW YOU WILL PAY" *Drops you backwards*
  8. I'm going to defy one of the commandments. Replace Adventure Express with a Vekoma mine train but keep the name Adventure Express and give it a Bavarian theme. Give the Tiki guys pint glasses too
  9. Ironically, nothing has really been done to improve Firehawk's capacity in the ten years its been at the park.
  10. I thought of that idea too, however the more I thought about it, its location right next to Diamondback might not be as ideal as it would in, say, Action Zone or even X-Base.
  11. In all honesty, I prefer B&M flyers as opposed Vekoma Flying Dutchmans B&M Vekoma
  12. @rcwizard13 Trolls? @MDMC01 I think a lot of it has to do with the capacity and the over all experience. You wait in line forever then when you finally board you're layed out to face the sun. If the lift hill was flipped where you face the ground instead of the sky, I'm sure you'd get a much better reception.
  13. Did you just associate my avatar with a word that asserts your KIC privilege?
  14. It's interesting that most the votes so far are pretty consistent like Firehawk, Backlot, Invertigo, and Vortex.
  15. A giga is the most likely candidate for KI's next coaster. Other coasters I could see in the distant future: launched coaster from Mack, or a triotech style coaster. I'd also say B&M Dive just because it could wipe out any possible dive coaster competition from Kentucky Kingdom or Holiday World.
  16. @IndyGuy4KI maybe Yogi will make a return I voted Backlot for a number of reasons. While its popular among families, it still has one of the lowest capacities of all the coasters in the park at around 1,000 people per hour. I agree with @VortexBFForever that the placement isn't the best as it takes up a lot of room that could be used for something bigger and better. If it was in a different part of the park I would reconsider my voting, however its currently placed right smack dab in the middle of the park. The ride only uses about half of the land it occupies but its placed in the exact spot where the other half of that land can't even be utilized. The fact that this ride was specifically designed around and themed to a Paramount movie doesn't help its case. Its an eyesore to see a helicopter and flames while hearing police sirens and flashing lights while waling around the park. Cedar Fair has done a good job "de-theming" the Paramount from the park, however BLSC will always remind me of Paramount's presence.
  17. So The Joker clone can do 720 people per hour which would result in around 8,640 people per day, which is indeed less than Invertigo which does 850 people per hour at around 10,200 a day. Its also true that the Joker relies on 5 trains to reach its capacity where as Invertigo only needs 1. However, the concept presented is unique and, in my opinion, could match the 850 people per ride stats that Invertigo puts out, if mechanics are working properly of course. This is just an enthusiast's dream that I know won't come true, however no Joker or 4d coaster has made it to the Ohio region so you can't say that Cedar Fair hasn't at least looked into them.
  18. *Just to be clear I love all of KI's coasters, but I'd like to see other people's perspectives and true views.* If one coaster had to bite the dust, which one would it be? This can be based on capacity, placement, or personal preference. I included all coasters on this thread to reduce bias. Please be mature and respect each other's opinions. This is meant to be a survey and a friendly discussion.
  19. You all need your privilege checked. This is a stunning concept where multiple trains can be running at once since there are two break runs in the form of elevators. The design can always be tweaked to accommodate more cars. I'm sure the concept artist would be able to do so. It could even be possible that two trains can be loaded in the station at a time. With this design, at least 4 trains can be operating which would be 32 people per cycle since each train would carry 8 riders. Invertigo, in theory, would have lower capacity with 28 people per cycle depending on how fast the ride can load and unload riders.
  20. @chugh43 I created two Idea #1 This one utilizes more of the existing buildings that could be used as a restroom or a food area which would require less demolition and more potential to expand between Racer and Flight of Fear. This also wouldn't compromise the other maintenance buildings. Idea #2 This idea requires more construction and in tern more demolition. The area here would be more flat so some thrill rides could definitely fit. This idea would be good if the park utilized the existing maintenance buildings as gift shops or haunt attractions which could be painted a different color like green or grey to make it like a government facility. This could also expand Xbase to the now defunct Dinosaurs Alive area. I personally like the second idea the best.
