  1. Hanna-Barbera didn’t really age great into the turn of the millennium was on leave you properties like Scooby Doo, Flintstones, and Yogi bear be recognizable by younger audiences through direct to home films, cereals, campsites, etc. Warner Bros. didn’t really want to continue to promote characters like Quickdraw McGraw, Snagglepuss, Wally Gator, Top Cat, etc. Nickelodeon became a popular go-to for kids of the 90s, but where, as Hanna-Barbera had existed for a few decades, Nickelodeon’s characters more or less faded. Sure everybody remembers SpongeBob as it’s still being milked to this day, but other properties, such as Jimmy Neutron, Fairly OddParents, Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats, etc all faded into memory. Peanuts, on the other hand, has predated and existed alongside most of Hanna-Barbera and Nickelodeon properties throughout the years. There’s a Peanuts special for nearly every holiday. For a while they played said specials on network tv. They still produce content for them on AppleTV and they just had a big screen film come out a few years ago. At my house we still have the old VHS tapes that we put in for whatever corresponding holiday is coming up. I don’t think the Peanuts IP will ever truly become outdated as long as they continue to produce content for younger generations and they remain present in Cedar Fair parks.
  2. I never understood why you would want to manufacture rides if you can’t supply the parts to them down the road-that’s only gonna make you look bad in the long term. It’s not like parks can go to Roller Coaster AutoZone and pick up what they need. I remember going to a a panel when I was an intern at Cedar Point in 2018 and somebody had brought up in Intamin. Their head of maintenance said that the cost of operating their Intamin roller coasters had gone up significantly over the last decade. I have no recordings of this panel, so I have no source to back this statement up aside from myself who was in attendance so take the information how you see fit. I’m sure removing Wicked Twister saved them some future expenses when it comes to purchasing parts and providing maintenance. I’d also imagine the removal of TTD’s original propulsion system has saved them some cheddar as well.
  3. After doing some measurements from Google Earth, it’ll fit in that space nicely. However I’m not sure about a Lazy Bear Lodge clone coexisting without the possibility of sacrificing Flying Ace Aerial Chase- which they might want to do anyways since it’s a Vekoma “hang & bang”
  4. If Disney can replicate the Haunted Mansion concept across their parks, why not? I wouldn’t be upset if we got Phantom Theater back if it meant that they cloned it for KD, Carowinds, and Canada’s Wonderland.
  5. So pretty much what @WoodVengeance shared above.
  6. I feel like Snoopy’s Snack Shack doesn’t see a lot of people- though I’m not sure if it’s open regularly.
  7. I might get tarred and feathered for this but… I personally wouldn’t mind if Vortex wasn’t replaced. I have a strong theory that Invertigo and Congo Falls will go and that’s were we’ll see a new coaster. As for the current land that’s sitting unoccupied, it could be leveled out which would allow for expanded pathways, continued drone shows, and so on. Don’t get me wrong, they could still put something on that plot of land in the form of a ride, but I think that area should serve a greater purpose in my opinion.
  8. From watching the POV, it seems like it’s a pretty immersive kid’s coaster complete with props, audio, and buildings: Something like this would make a good debut attraction for a Camp Snoopy rebrand all while offering a coaster that borders the line between a kiddie coaster and a family coaster.
  9. I mentioned that earlier and personally wouldn’t be surprised if it was true. Most of the former Paramount parks have cloned coasters in their kids areas so it wouldn’t be so far fetched to think that history would repeat itself.
  10. I remember how there was talks of a metro system taking people from Cincinnati to KI: https://www.urbancincy.com/2012/11/metromoves-a-decade-later/ The thing I find problematic with mass transit systems connecting to amusement parks is the potential loss of revenue from people not spending money to park in a park’s parking lot.
  11. Technically, Boo Blasters is part of International Street but was rebranded when the chain dropped the Scooby Doo IP. I’m assuming they went with a generic ghost IP to make the transition easier while still keeping the shooting aspect. Also, I don’t know if Peanuts Worldwide LLC would want their IP associated with a shooting gallery- even if it’s lasers. @beastfan11 I’d personally be surprised if Boo Blasters was included in the revamp.
  12. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2018/10/26/carowinds-turns-its-focus-to-families-fun.html I’d imagine this would be what becomes of Space Buggies if we get a Camp Snoopy retheme.
  13. I agree. What I said was more or less in response to people on Reddit talking about how they’ve “black listed” Intamin and RMC. I used “” because I don’t think they’ve ever officially said “we’re not going to work with these companies down the road.” I don’t think they’ll ever cut ties with a company for good because leadership can change on either end. I do wonder if B&M installations will be different moving forward, especially with the dive that Dorney is supposed to get.
  14. I don’t think Cedar Fair will black list B&M- or at least it would be foolish if they did.
  15. I have an idea: If Planet Snoopy becomes Camp Snoopy, relocate Great Pumpkin Coaster closer toward where the barnyard is-they could repaint and rename it to fit the Camp Snoopy theme. Relocating Great Pumpkin Coaster would free up just over 17,400 square feet of space next to the current dark ride building. Not entirely sure what they could do with that freed up space but they could tie that space into the dark ride or do something else. Just a thought.
  16. @Kenban I was initially skeptical about a Camp Snoopy because I wasn’t sure a retheme would bring people in. With the loose rumor of a new coaster coming and the potential for new dining options, I’m more optimistic of an overhaul.
  17. I heard a loose rumor from an Amusement Insiders video that Snoopy’s Racing Railway at Canada’s Wonderland was intended to be cloned for KI and Carowinds. I’m not sure how accurate that is but if it were to happen, it would make sense. KI, CWL, and CWS have all gotten clones of other kid coasters on the past.
  18. Double post. to shift things from the maintenance aspect of it, I’m really interested in the PR side of things. I’m sure the park is not answering a ton of questions until investigations have concluded, but I wonder how big of a blow this will be to the park’s overall image. If the ride gets repaired and it’s clear to open, I’m sure people will be in line to ride it but for other people it’ll take time. That video will always be available for people to see.
  19. According to another video, the guy who recorded the video called 911:
  20. I’m wondering if their constant additions to SWO tells of what’s to come for BGT. Between SWO and BGT, BGT seems to be the more “extreme park” in my opinion. Could SWO’s additions be meant to offset something big that could be coming to BGT like a giga?
  21. I understand where you’re coming from, but if the crack in question was noticed by park goers a week ago, if I’m reading posts correctly, then the park either didn’t notice it or cleared it to operate with a crack. Either way it doesn’t seem like a good look on the park’s end regardless of anything else.
  22. I was just about to say that. If they want overall exposure of the Peanuts brand, they might want their characters to roam the park more.
  23. Maybe I’m wrong but, I’d like to assume that KI staff have seen the video and pictures and conducted their own inspections of their B&Ms.
