  1. If you enter the park before 6pm and leave and try to return after 6pm you will be denied entrance...
  2. You realize that is the tweet from last year and not today...
  3. True, but when a ride is removed one season without a replacement lined up, it means less capacity throughout the park as a whole to spread the people around. Granted Orion will be a people eater, but whatever capacity Vortex was doing per hour means that capacity will now be spread amongst the queues of the remaining rides and inherently increasing wait times, whether measurable or not.
  4. Meanwhile, the workers at Orion287 are glad that this announcement has meant the enthusiasts have finally taken a webcam break from watching them work and detailing every movement on this forum
  5. Why hasn't anyone speculated Coney Island rides could go in this section of Coney Mall lol
  6. Will this post age like fine wine too (cross threading lol)
  7. I guess we are allowed to sarcasm ourself lol (cross threading for those that don't get the pun)...
  8. oh yeah, you are right LOL....well then WHEN he gets in LOL...I keep thinking of his picture being on the old one by the Theatre and thinking he was in...it's not like I study the wall when I go by it every time LOL...
  9. Plus if it stays hidden, they won't get the why isn't "so-in-so who has the most rides on a particular ride" on that wall...so it will remain with Don as the only record holder on the wall...
  10. Hmmm - but CP has 17 family rides and 14 kiddie rides (total of 31 rides) that children under 48" (that means not the 48" rides for those keeping score) can ride; while KI has 7 family rides and 20 kiddie rides (total of 27 rides) for that same height requirement...and CP Snoopy areas have more shade! Plus there is never a line for the Snoopy areas at Cedar Point - 3 hour waits for Steel Vengeance Saturday but no wait for any kid rides in Snoopy area. Like the employees stand around waiting for a kid to come to their ride. When do you see that at Kings Island - when the park is closed lol! You can spend a whole day in KI Planet Snoopy because those lines are generally longer than Planet Snoopy lines in other CF parks
  11. But kept in mind the meal plan will not be valid until 2020, but the pass can get you into the park in 2019....
  12. I posted this in another thread but is probably better suited here lol...
  13. Zimmerman concluded by noting, “We believe the continued growth in the advance sales of our 2020 season passes is a direct result of the compelling lineup of new attractions and entertainment offerings we will be delivering next year. Highlighted by the 150th anniversary celebration at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio; the 100th anniversary celebration at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California; and, the new 300-foot-tall giga coaster, Orion, at Kings Island near Cincinnati, Ohio, our slate of 2020 additions offers something new at each and every park next season. The 2020 additions combined with our existing, industry-leading attractions, immersive entertainment and special events ensure that our parks are not only set to deliver compelling growth in 2020, but well into the future,” said Zimmerman. Wait a minute I thought Orion is 287 feet tall... If the CEO says it is a 300 foot tall giga, then that is what it is Debate closed...or has it made the debate worse...
  14. As of last night the red trains were still on KI property...
  15. Well this is interesting lol
  16. Actually Drop Tower only takes you up 267 feet...but the tower is 315 feet tall...
  17. It's running now....but is trying to claim the name blue Diamondback before Orion287- The ride is called that
  18. Depends on when your next trip is lol
  19. You are one of the few of the non park employees on this forum that could post "exclusive" photos lol...
  20. Wow exclusive photos - were you the only one on the tower or got an exclusive trip up prior to park opening and have now blocked off anyone being able to go up and take the same general photos? (and I know it is may seem petty lol, but "media" outlets should try to be accurate in what they present or risk not being taken seriously...)
  21. Given it will be closer and taller than Diamondback to all the homes being built to the north, I would be surprised if sand is not added...
  22. And other than properly disposing of trash in trash bins, they would rather it be in the parking lot than tossed out on the interstate or along any other streets...
  23. The 2014 season started without seatbelts but were installed on Diamondback within the first operating month that year. Initially there was a delay, but it has improved since. The seatbelts were installed for valid reasons. The first reference of Diamondstack on this forum was June 16, 2013, but was used prior to reference here and had stacking issues long before the seat belts were installed. One can search this forum and find where people have done some unofficial timing of dispatches and see that the seatbelts have not increased the dispatch times...ride op records would confirm this as well...as many have said in the past, for the most part delays are guest driven with issues other than seatbelts... And as Brad has said, we really are spoiled at KI in terms of ride ops pumping out the trains...I have seen many on here that haven't been to other CF parks and purchased a platinum pass to visit other parks next year...wait until you see other parks and compare. It will give you a newfound appreciation for Kings Island.
  24. Copperhead Strike closed due to apparent rider injury while on ride (probably trying to find something to hold onto during one of those inversions): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBEWGoDcNZ0
  25. I saw a similar issue in Mystic a couple Saturday nights ago - some young punk lit one up and was a very strong smell. An older man asked him politely to put it out and the punk basically told him to buzz off. When they passed in the queue again the older man asked again in a more vocal voice to put it out and again the punk was like buzz off. Then people started chanting "PUT IT OUT, PUT IT OUT" and after one cycle of that his friends he was with shamed him into putting it out. So, seems like "PUT IT OUT" shout needs to start to get people to back you up!
