This statement cannot be stressed enough! The whole idea is to have the resources available (hospital beds and doctors and nurses, etc.) so that healthcare providers can take care of the sick. Otherwise, projections are that there will be a demand greater than 20 patients per available hospital bed. That means 19 people per bed per hospital do not get treated. With almost 790,000 beds in hospitals around the country, over 15 million people sick enough to be hospitalized would be turned away due to capacity issues... and that doesn't take into account other health issues competing for those beds like cancer and other ailments... We all expect and take for granted that if we are sick enough to be hospitalized that a bed and room will be available... The side affect of this approach is that it comes at a cost of delaying the peak time when everyone is sick as well as lengthening the time the virus sticks around. But if that allows everyone that does get sick to be able to be treated and reduces the number of deaths, it is worth it. This is why it was reported yesterday that because of all these measures being put in place, it is not expected that the peak will occur until mid-April or early May. Because of this, it is strongly likely that any state Governor Orders or additional Orders from the Federal government could be extended or implemented or strengthened based on that data available at that time...and once we get to the other side, things will re-open slowly and be re-evaluated...we may see things like parks not open this year...

True LOL but I would bet there are also gonna be other food stand open for those that don't wanna wait in the "I'm entitled to free food" line I guess we will find out for KI passholder preview that in the past accepted meal and dining plans (if the event happens..cross-threading)...

It includes outdoor events in this ban... Park guests are packed in at queue lines unless we virtual queue...the order doesn't exclude amusement parks (yet)... But like I mentioned earlier, there is still clarification being made on this Order. If the Order is extended to overlap KI and CP opening dates, I suspect at that time clarification will be made in that Order... Scene75 announced last night they are closing, so we could see other entertainment places follow suit as well... Is season passholder preview an event? Lots of clarifications that will be forthcoming in the following weeks if the order is extended/strengthened...

And the doctor at the Ohio press conference reiterated that fact and said they do not expect this to peak until Mid-April or early May....so if it doesn't peak until then, it is very well this order could be extended or strengthened... This probably went into The Ohio State University decision last night to eliminate in-person classes the rest of the semester (previously they would resume the last few weeks of the term)...and I expect others will follow that lead...

And that maximum attendance number could be deemed too small to justify a park opening... It could bring to parks virtual queue lines limiting lines to under the 100 person threshold... sorry Fastlane... Could force a park to not open if threat of bad weather as they couldn't open up weather shelters as that would exceed 100 person threshold... Would Flight of Fear, Boo Blasters, Festhaus, etc be impacted... We are in unprecedented times and things are changing rapidly. Nobody would have predicted on Monday want we waking up today..

Personally I would rather see this as a poll question if at all posted.... PilotDude nailed it - "it is too early to make guess and spread false information with all of the speculation." Given the Ohio Governor's Order yesterday (some passages still open for clarification and interpretation), a question posed like this without the facts of this Order mentioned will simply add to confusion and frenzy as many people will offer their thoughts without even knowing about the Ohio Governor's order and it's impacts if extended or strengthened...if an order says it can't open, it can't open... Take for example California, their Order specifically exempted Disneyland, yet Disneyland made the decision to close...

Wonder if the new norm going forward for passholder only type events are that meal and dining plans will not be valid?...

All ohio schools public and private shut down at least 3 weeks after school ends Monday. Most major sports have suspended including basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey.

Absolutely keep posting your stories here. Even the rare incident where you may have been called out for being "wrong", I am sure at the time the information was shared with you or someone's recollection of it was accurate at that time. Plus, as a business, they can change course after something was told to someone, even after it is put in concrete it can change (looking at you relocated rides LOL). Paramount literally tossed out (like in the dumpsters) a lot of history of the park archives when they took over, so stories from you and others documented here will be one way it can be preserved the best it can! Plus, every time an employee leaves or retires, another databank of historical knowledge disappears.

So let's explore this corporate world case study... Studies show that one of the top complaints employees have is that management micromanages and are too hands on and employees want to be left alone to do their thing and get their job done the best they know how. Many employees reported during the Kinzel era he was too hands on and micromanaged. People may not like him, but he did grow the company and helped usher in the new wave of record breaking attractions.. It is being reported that Lindner's ownership was very hands off and these were not good years. So can one infer from this that KI had the wrong people in the wrong positions at that time if this era is considered "generally not good years? If KI management was left to run the park as they saw fit, this statement implies they didn't know what they were doing. If Lindner micromanaged would this have changed anything? Is the takeaway that corporate needs a micromanager CEO to get things done? Or is it that CEO's need to have the right people in the right positions and give them complete autonomy to run it as they see fit? Or is it somewhere in between? I also recognize this is an over simplification of the issues, but it would make for an interesting case study when looking at all the details and parameters and metrics associated with these era's, but these are high level take aways from these statements...

This statement cannot be stressed enough! For everyone, especially the youngsters that haven't been through the corporate world cycle yet, just because an employee tells you something doesn't mean it is 100% the truth. The reality is a lot of times people are required to provide the corporate response or the appropriate response deemed acceptable at that time. Examples that come to mind: At the time, Thad Matta having a press conference in front of Xavier saying he has no intentions of leaving Xavier and basically proceeds to go thru the backdoor of the building into a limo waiting to take him up to Ohio State to be announced as their head coach. At the time, Brian Kelly was in the midst of a run that could potentially place UC in a national championship game and says he is committed to Cincinnati and not leaving, yet had taken the job at Notre Dame. I still think if he had been committed and not focused on the Notre Dame job and put together a more convincing victory at Pittsburgh they would have played in the National Championship game. Countless people saying they are not considering running for public office and then run for office. Countless companies that tell their employees the company is doing well and the next week lays off half the staff. Firehawk is dismantled and until the teasing campaign started, when interviewed by the media, KI staff would say they do not have immediate plans for the site. Same is probably true about Vortex. Kings Island saying they don't know what is going in the Theatre this year. The list from corporate America or even daily walk of life can have this list go on for infinity. Even more so for an interview for something that is going to be published, whether it be for a radio station, news story, magazine, or book, etc. Being completely truth-telling generally involves personal risk for loss of job or reprimand or some other course of action, so when someone is being interviewed, they will have their guard up to not accidentally share something their employer doesn't want them to say. They will generally error on the side of caution and not be as open or say as much. It is why many corporations have instituted a "no comment" policy for all of their employees but the designated spokesperson. The truth of the matter is Shaggy or BoddaH or anyone else with personal relationships with higher ups at KI probably will be told more than what that same employee would share to the general public or someone in the media. It is human nature... It is also very possible to be told something at that particular time that was true, but something changed and they went in a different direction and because you are not an employee and not "in the loop" you were not aware of the change. It doesn't mean what you shared is false or inaccurate.

My post was simply pointing out it wasn't for individual purposes to save that person from bothering the park. If that person was with a group they should have been more clear....
