  1. Well this is already going to prove to be a verrrrrrry interesting season...Banshee, Bat, new show, and now Diamondback seat belt rumors...mmmm... The seat belt won't affect me at all as I am a smaller person. I guess it will just be sort of frustrating to have something else to fumble with while getting seated ( if this rumor is indeed fact ). I have always enjoyed just sitting down and pulling back the lap-bar. Wah-lah! Its refreshing in a way I guess. Either way it won't affect my opinion of Diamondback. I still love it. If this really is true, I would love to see a cute logo of a Diamondback rattle snake sitting in a seat fastening his seat belt as a visual reminder when sitting down
  2. I cannot wait to attend this again this year! I had a blast last year going for my first time. It was nice to be able to walk around the park with my girl without fear of being judged. I honestly could care less anyways what people think, but I will say that the atmosphere was totally different and far more relaxed, open and fun than any other time I have been at the park. Plus I absolutely loved the short lines and being able to grab two night rides on The Beast! I feel like this will be a great opportunity to grab a bunch of rides on Banshee too.
  3. Already had the Banshee twist last year at the haunt and it was very very good. The blueberry and vanilla flavors compliment each other very well and of course the color scheme is awesome!
  4. My biggest issue with water rides is that I am always carrying a cell phone or two and my car keys and I just don't want to pay to put my stuff in a locker for one ride or two. Because of that, I don't make it a habit to ride water rides, but generally on a really hot day I find it refreshing to take a ride on either WWC or Congo Falls. I know that you generally can walk off either wet or dry depending, but if anything I find the nice breeze over the water to be a nice effect.
  5. That's pretty cool! Seemed like the junior invert was really kind of a passing phase since Vekoma has a few installations in various parks, including KI. Its nice to see another company take the initiative to bring back the idea for families and to bring something to smaller parks who otherwise wouldn't have the space for a full fledged invert ( I'd also say funds, but yeah...I can imagine these aren't exactly cheap! )
  6. I can hear the Village People playing in my mind when I look at this picture...lol I feel like they are ready to break out into "Y M C A!"
  7. Ok so this doesn't have anything to do with the Haunt attractions themselves, but merchandise. I will never forget the year I went to a Haunt and I saw someone with a really awesome Cedar Point HalloWeekends shirt that had lights on it and it lit up in different colors/patterns. It was amazing! I think it would be nice if the park got some cool merch like that this year or some time in the future because you could definitely count me in for buying a shirt or a hoodie that lights up! I don't think anyone would argue some fresh new Haunt themed merch!
  8. I am sure someday there will be changes made to said buildings and structures. Action Theater could still be something great again if they find the right flim(s) to show there that the whole family can enjoy together as a break from the summer heat. I also hope someday they transform the old TR:TR into something else someday with a nice flat ride of sorts to occupy the space or something of that nature, but only time will tell. These things will eventually have their time and place to make way for something else, whatever that may be. Until then that leaves room for future discussions eh?
  9. Heck, if they added water under Invertigo, I know that one is a real pocket yanker for change! I have seen so much money ( even a cell phone or two ) fall from guests while riding.
  10. OEL display of sorts maybe? Like most of you have said, something that shows color graphics? Maybe on the caliber of that you see before you enter the causeway at Cedar Point? I think it would be pretty cool to see something like that. But also like some of you have mentioned, the laws in place may be an issue.
  11. I've never had any unusually disgusting trips to the bathroom at the park in all honesty. I mean they're public bathrooms so they can only be so clean, but I have never found them to be exceptionally gross. I guess maybe my standards are different than others? I have seen some nasty bathrooms in my day...and I'd say just about every Speedway gas station's toilet have been some of the grossest I have ever witnessed and don't even get me started on how disgusting school bathrooms are. So I will give a nod to the staff at Kings Island for doing a pretty good job at keeping up with the influx of guests and bathroom needs. I would use one of the park's bathrooms over most public facilities any day!
  12. Its great to see Action Zone getting some much needed TLC. This part of the park has been looking pretty grim the last 5 years so its great to see that the area is receiving new paint and of course a new attraction ( and a lovely nod to the past with The Bat ) I'm getting more and more excited to go to the park this year! Action Zone will really be full of ACTION once again!
  13. If they wanted a DJ booth in that space, I'd be happy to oblige a position in there
  14. Its a good year to be a Platinum Pass holder!
  15. Didn't they auction off some of The Bat heads though? I could have sworn I'd seen one on eBay years ago. That of course isn't the actual train, but decoration.
  16. It really does look like The Vortex, but they could have just photoshopped out the supports for the publisher's desired appearance of the covers.
  17. So what do you think they do with the old chains? Recycle? Refurbish? Paper weight? I have always wanted a chain link or a wheel that's out of commission for my amusement park memorabilia collection.
  18. -I want to attend as many times as I possibly can ( a couple of times a month at least ) -Get more pictures/videos -Ride Banshee at least a handful of times each visit -Get some new coaster gear ( especially Banshee and Bat gear ) -Attend some KIC events and hang out with my new friends I finally got to meet in Indy ( and hopefully meet more of you! ) -Go to at least 2 Haunts this season -Go to Pride night this year as last year was a blast! -Try to do a charity event and last but not least, enjoy the park overall for yet another incredible season that awaits!

This is so unique! Who wouldn't want to pour some delicious sauce on their food of choice with their favorite ride adorning the bottle? A thrill in the park and a thrill at home! Does this mean we can eat the ride too, with the matching sauce to pour over it? I bet that southern yellow pine would taste great with some Beast sauce on it! XD totally kidding.. *crickets* 0_o
  20. I really like that they are doing this. I also wanted to check out CP's DA but did not want to pay, as I already spend a lot of money while I'm there as it is. I like how it seems pass holders are getting some good perks this season.
  21. I can agree with what a lot of you are saying. I do love both parks myself. They are both worth my time each year and its why I started getting a Platinum pass instead of just a Gold pass. But although I currently reside in Indy, Kings Island is where it truly all began for me and each visit is special for me. I love Cedar Point for different reasons. I go every year and spend a few days there just to take it all in for the year and also to enjoy the lake and local charm, but Kings Island is like going "home". It feels like I am back with old friends and a familiar warmth that I can't quite articulate because it is so deeply imbedded in my heart it can only be felt. I've been to other parks and they might be great in theming, rides, shows, service, etc...but none of them ever give me that feeling of being home quite like Kings Island does. Cedar Point is still special to me in its own way and I get a totally different liberated feeling there...and just from MY personal experience...the kind of random people I have encountered there have actually been a heck of a lot friendlier. I'm not sure why, but I wasn't alone in noticing this. From my memory, I have encountered far more rude folk at Kings Island sadly, but that doesn't deter the feelings I have for the park at all. I'd have to say at both parks I have encountered friendly staff and have befriended some at both parks and that makes it even more special to visit both each year. Overall, neither park will ever be able to fully emulate each other because both parks contain different geographical differences and other various differences that we are all aware of, but most of all, its the feelings and memories we have at each park that will truly never make one park like the other. They are special in their own ways for different reasons and I would never want Kings Island to become Cedar Point or vice versa.
  22. I started getting into roller coasters when I was 14 years old and I can remember in those early formative years, I was not particularly a fan of The Beast. I didn't find it scary, I just found it rough. I learned over time though that there are better seats than others and I learned with each ride, more and more, I loved it. I was absolutely determined to find out the hype around it and I have. Over the last several years it is hands down one of the best, if not thee best night ride out there. It's in my top five night rides. I think anyone can agree that its a wonderful coaster overall, and anyone who rides it for the first time during the day is sorely missing out on what it was truly built for-night. Flying through the woods, the night air grabbing hold of your soul...the pitch black of the tunnels...I feel like words will never fully convey the awesomness of a night ride on The Beast, but many of you already know what I'm talking about. Its simply a beautiful rush.
  23. I think "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions could also be fitting music for Delirium if they ever change the song down the road.
  24. Heck that looks about right for a cue area size. Makes me think about Cedar Point's Raptor's que line...and really just about any invert I've seen seems to have a large cue area. It's going to be a massive hit. I can just feel it. I won't be surprised if that thing gets full all the time even years after its newness wears off.
  25. I didn't go for Firehawk's opening day, but I did for Diamondback's and Gatekeepers. I liked how they had a certain number of shirts to give out to first riders at the exit of Diamondback, no questions asked ( except "what size?" ) but I was not happy at all about how they did it for Gatekeeper. I mean sure, I got an Opening Day koozie with the Gatekeeper logo and opening date on it, but I was really hoping to get a first rider t-shirt in the same fashion that I got my Diamondback t-shirt. I was pretty disappointed at how they just gave them out at random. I think it should be a first come first serve system like prior engagements as I do believe that is more fair than waiting not only to ride but to earn that "trophy" aka a first rider t-shirt.
