  1. Still think it would work to come out - go down the path on the backside of DODGEM for show stop 1 (might have to reshape the planter a bit and add a wider sidewalk on that path, but plenty of space to add it) then travel up to the tower, around Showplace, down LaRosas side then spread out more to do show stop 2 with the units spaced from Wishbone around to Graeters to make all of IStreet into one big party zone (more room at the entry area for the dance break - show stop.) Then travel around to Coney for show stop 3 - again making that whole corridor a party zone, then complete the circuit back to parade storage. Eliminate one show stop, but make show stop 2 and 3 bigger Maybe just do those 2 stops even with rooftop low pyro and rooftop confetti cannons.
  2. Hope thats the case as the way they’ve done it with the “hey kids, shows over!” Mass exodus in full view on stage view is sloppy and has always bothered me.
  3. Maybe due to heat? I know KI has cut the stops before if there’s threat of rain. They are running theirs “one hour before close” which can be 8 or 9. Maybe too hot at 8.
  4. Sounds promising - hopefully they can use the parade as a "lead in" to the final show on the bandstand and flow right into fireworks/closing. Wish they could use the floats in a better parade route to end circling the tower, so performers could just get off and go right to the closing show. Parade goes back to the old route, turns down IStreet by the funnel cake place, comes back up the other side, then after final show stop, goes back into parade mode as the floats go around the tower. They park and the entire area around/under the tower becomes big party zone surrounded by the floats.
  5. Still nothing listed on website other than “coming soon” sounds about right as a way to hype this event.
  6. Does the ap usually not show show times a week out. Interesting that all shows are not listed for Saturday (day one Carnivale) and no specific times are listed for those events yet either. Website still has no menu listed.
  7. Too much. The discount needs to be more than 3 bucks off for members. At least 50%. Will be interesting to see how well this sells and if we see some “pack the house for word of mouth” deeper discounts for members
  8. With that late time, hope they are having it run right into the closing “show” and not having the sloppy end-everyone jump off the floats, run back for your final show look like before. I feel like the parade gets later each year. They must really be trying to keep people there eating and drinking later
  9. Possible is different than necessary.
  10. Seems like a real miss. Makes it easier to try things. Sounds like a revenue driving attempt.
  11. And serve them on a plate- not what looks like the lid to a takeout container.
  12. Exactly. Who is running food ops? There are so many things they could’ve done this season to minimize the reduction in portion sizes and actually make things “look” upscale. https://a.co/d/0c9xD23O
  13. KD is marketing it as “one hour before close” and NO CARNIVALE on Wednesday nights.
  14. It wasn’t a “food” festival at all. It was a few snacks that “went with wine”. After one visit, and a tiny sip of wine, with no way to try multiples without paying full price since you had to get your full flight at one booth with no “tasting card” to make it feel more “festival like” I was pretty much done first weekend. Nothing inspiring to eat. It was the wrong time of year - too hot- and would’ve made sense pre-memorial day to drive attendance when the park is quiet and closes early anyway. Tower gardens looked GREAT - wasted afford on the part of landscaping and event decor. Food operations was bad and didn’t give a compelling reason to come, Marketing/PR dropped the ball and didn’t hype any reason to WANT to come (maybe the uninspired food wasn’t worth their effort). The whole thing felt like an assignment in school you have to do where you find a lot of clip art and spend a little time on it to make it LOOK pretty- hoping the teacher won’t read it and find out you didn’t do any research and had nothing really compelling to say.
  15. Combine the two “as soon as possible with the facts known at this time, shared in a way that won’t opinionize or anticipate an eventual outcome.” In this case, “a person, after entering a restricted area, was struck by a roller coaster car in motion. The person was taken via life flight to etc etc. at this time we have no additional information as to their status or the status of anyone else directly involved. We take the safety of our guests and employees seriously, and are closely monitoring this situation. We will share additional information as soon as it is made available to us.”
  16. It’s a play on words. The big “star” coasters are celebrating big anniversaries this year. YOU our guests are our stars. Making memories… under the stars.
  17. So by that logic, if I’m looking for something to do… wonder to myself, “Hey I wonder if Kings Island has something around food… and wine? I’ll type those words into google and see what comes up” I’ll get hundreds of articles? That’s putting a lot on the average bored Cincinnati region resident to randomly search those words isn’t it?
  18. WOW If only Kings Island put this much thought into promoting their product and special limited-time events like this and the Food and Wine Festival that got next to no mention outside of their own social channels
  19. But will they offer an EXPERIENCE????
  20. Agree. It’s everything I feared “Off the Rails” would be when that was announced as a 50th offering. These things are cute but need to be in a site- built venue or moved into Festhaus.
  21. Sounds like they've eliminated them and are instead giving you a "merchandise card" to use toward food - which seems like more trouble than a card with a scannable QR code. I dont understand why they are moving away from the tasting card idea - would've made the Wine festival much better. As it was I didnt even take advantage of it since you had to do flights of a single variety of wine and couldn't "build a flight" or spread your ours out over the several weeks of the festival.
  22. I believe there were fire bowls on those with the fabric flames
  23. We had a subtly animated prop for a few days! RIP flagging snoopy. It was a good 5 days while it lasted.
  24. That’s been the copy since year 1 (except they’ve added “lasers and drones”.) I wish it was actually the case where the parade “became” the party using the floats as rolling stages that circled the tower at the end instead of the clunky “rolling empty walk of shame” back to their home. They did that a bit year 1 keeping a couple of floats out by the stage for lights and color. Imagine ranging under the tower - using it as a massive lighting grid- surrounded by the floats with dancers on them and a live band and singers on stage. Basically “ClubCARNIVALE”. Parade runs from 8:30- 9 and then just flows right into dance party at 9-9:50 with live band/soundtrack for closing show (not Under the Stars, but a custom CARNIVALE program)
